As the Global Civil War was about to wipe out humankind, a dying alien genius dispatched the
abandoned Super Dimensional Fortress to Earth - and put humanity's future in the hands of a
corps of untried, resolute young men and women: the Robotech Defense Force. Then the most
feared conquerors in the universe attacked, and the real war began... for them.
#2 BATTLE CRY
Henry Gloval, human captain of the alien spacecraft called the Super Dimensional Fortress, was
a practical man - he only asked himself how in the world he had ended up in command of the
stupendously powerful SDF-1 once or twice a day. After all, he had more important things on his
mind - for now the Zentraedi had come to claim the alien space fortress as their own...
#3 HOMECOMING
For more than a year, the humans aboard the SDF-1 had fought and eluded an endless armada
of Zentraedi warships. Now the space fortress would have to battle her way back to Earth. But
villains come in human form as well as alien - and the treachery of power-hungry men might be
the most lethal threat of all...

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Robotech was a great cartoon series... Review: but in some ways it makes a better book. I believe that, mostly because I believe the series is very much driven by the characters, not just the battle scenes or the sci-fi. The book allows you to really get into the minds of the characters, allows the author to add more background and extra scenes and each chapter begins with a interesting quote from one of the characters or even history books from this universe. Get into the minds of the young Rick Hunter or the twisted Khyron.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Robotech: Battlehymn/Force of Arms/Doomsday Review: For a person that enjoys anime/style stories, this one will top them all. The story line keeps the reader interested and doesn't drag on about one subject. I think that people will find out that the characters displayed in the book are more real than they think. For instance, most sci-fi books have the shoot'em up and get the girl type genre. But this book portrays the life story of Rick Hunter in the Zentraedi conflict. He works to help the citizens of Macross survive in combat and in deep space. Romance and comedy come into play and a whole bunch of other stories surface. The way that Jack McKinney plots the stories will keep you up for hours gripping this book for more. I give this book five stars for detail, action, romance, and story plot.

Not only is this the greatest action story ever written but it is the ultimate clash between the human race and any alien beings. I'd give this 10 thumbs up - if I had 10 thumbs!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Novelization adds context to the classic cartoon Review: Having missed out on Robotech as a child, I was thrilled when the series was rereleased on cable earlier this year. After reading this book (a novelization of the first season of the cartoon), I am now able to understand the more complex concepts of the show (Protoculture, anyone?) as well as better understand the thoughts and feelings of the characters. McKinney's stye is light and engaging, making this book as impossible to resist as the show itself. This not ground-breaking literature, of course, yet it remains amongst the most fascinating sagas of our age. Let's get on with it!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Begining of the Series Review: I had no idea what I was getting into when I first bought this book. I was looking for some good Sci-Fi basicly, after having read most of the books from the Star Wars and Star Trek series. I had looked at the Battletech series but for some reason it just wasn't all that appealing. I found this three-in-one and figured, "why not". I was astounded. It was just such a great piece of Science Fiction. If you like the Sci-Fi genre and are tired of the same 'ole, same 'ole, then let me tell you, you won't be dissapointed. I'm now on my second run through of this book (I read it for the first time around last year) and now have plans to continue the series. From what I've seen, it seems that it'll prove to be a great story.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A riveting story for the ages Review: I had the pleasure of seeing the TV series as a kid and it spurred me to buy the books by Jack McKinney. These books are the Sci-Fi answer to The Lord of the Rings. Excellent storytelling and character development. Even a casual fan can't help but be dragged in by the depth of the whole scheme. I've been a fighter pilot and these guys seem quite believable. Buy these and read them to your kids!!!
