Rating: Summary: A book worthy of the name "Star Wars" Review: The excitment of this book drew me in on the first page. An enemy from a backwater planet with the intelligence, grace and patience of that of Grand Admiral Thrawn himself. An equal to Luke Skywalker, with the power of the Dark Side of the Force at his command. A secret weapon used to exterminate an entire race, and now ready to be turned against the New Republic. Not since "Return of the Jedi" has their been such a compelling storyline filled with drama, action and a whole lot more. When reading, I could almost hear John Williams' soundtrack in my mind, changing as the scenes of the book did. The best part was that you didn't have to be a Jedi Master to understand certain terms and characters in the story. They were laid out perfectly with amazing detail so that even someone new to the Star Wars Universe would be able to grasp a clear vision of what was being described. This is a book worthy of the name "Star Wars".
Rating: Summary: Great adventure with the action of a true star wars classic. Review: This book is great-an all new enemy, the threatening of the dark side, and something on every page to keep you reading. With all the qualities of a true star Wars classic, The New Rebellion by Kristine Rusch defenintly fits my standeds for adventure. The New Republic Senate has been bombed! Many senators have been injured, more killed. Luke Skywalker travels to the origin of the prblem, meeting with lots of danger and a few familiar faces turned evil. Read this book for sure if you're a Str wars fan, or just a plain old science-fiction freak.
Rating: Summary: The New Rebellion is an Ass-Kicker Review: I laughed at the part where Artoo an Threepio were arguing about going to the matinence bay to check Luke's X-Wing. Another funny part is when Han had his ass shot at.
Rating: Summary: I don't know.... Review: This book is a good addition to the Star Wars universe, but it wasn't that great.I like, though how the author uses characters that I know, like the people at Smuggler's Run. I also like the fast-paced action. I'm not quite through yet, but so far it is so-so.
Rating: Summary: A Really Great Book Review: This is (in my humble opinion) the second best Star Wars novel I have read so far. I think that most of the ideas were really original, and I especially liked the parts on Smuggler's Run. I hope that this author writes more of these novels, because this one was great!
Rating: Summary: good but could of been better Review: The book was good, but, there were certain things in it that made me aware the author did not truly understand the movies.ex.it implied the reason thet obi wan let himself be destroyed was so he could become more powerful and it wasn't a smart thing to do because all he was now was dead, but infact obi wan let himself be struck down so Luke and crew could escape. There are a lot of these types of errors that show her misinterpatations of the films. Also the main villain is a embarassing rip-off of the one and only Darth Vader.A fairly good read once you get past it's flaws
Rating: Summary: More Great Star Wars Action! Review: If you like Star Wars, read this book. It's a fast-paced, action-packed novel that's VERY hard to stop reading. The Star Wars novel series is NOT winding down whatsoever. Those great authors keep cranking out better and better Star Wars action
Rating: Summary: Excellent addition to the Star Wars Series Review: This latest installment into the Star Wars universe is an excellent addition and easily joins the ranks of Timothy Zahn's Heir To The Empire series.
Most of this book kept me on the edge of my seat with suspense and confusion. Riviting sub-plots carry you throughout the novel and throw you over the edge!
I reccommend this book mostly to anyone who has read the other 15 books
Rating: Summary: Great Star Wars Book Review: This is a really great Star Wars book!! Some of the newer books all have to do with alien races going out of control, this book however brings the glory of the empire into full view!! Even if you don't like the empire, this book shows the wonderful New Republic, and it's streghths!
Rating: Summary: Finally, the excitement of a trilogy in one novel Review: Kristine Kathryn Rusch has accomplished something no Star wars author has been able to do since Kathy Tyers -- create an enthralling story that didn't need three novels to develop. I have loved almost all of the Star Wars book trilogies, but the one-shots always seemed to come up short. The New Rebellion, however, has everything Star wars fans have come to expect -- a fast pace, witty humor, and the characters we all know and love. Rusch does more than just develop the characters, she resurrects them. She recreates Han the Smuggler and Luke the Adventurous. She truly appreciates the depth of the characters of the Star Wars universe.
I used to think I had to wait nine months for a trilogy of novels to be published to find a story as enjoyable as the movies... Not any more.
