Rating: Summary: Good, not his best Review: It would have been a great book if not for two very major parts of the story which he would have had to replace.1. The Death Star plot is REALLY old. DS1 DS2, the Sun Crusher, now this.2. Callista. He had to dispose of her, because she was not a part of the already-written future
Rating: Summary: Good until the end Review: Anderson starts with all the requirements for a Star Wars novel and even adds depth to the relationship between Callista and Luke, but he moves too quickly. There is a lot of detail left out that adds to the Star Wars universe and the climax is not what I had hoped. Instead of building the tension of the possible use of the Darksaber weapon, Anderson just writes it off. However, the one thing I truly enjoyed was seeing the Jedi Knights use their powers to change the circumstances and not just allow the Alliance to save them. Darksaber is a pretty good novel which follows in the tradition of the Star Wars novels, but it could have been better if made into a trilogy
Rating: Summary: The BEST SW Book ANYWHERE! Review: This is by far the best SW book on the planet. It combines the best elements of the "Thrawn Trilogy" and the "Jedi Acadamy Trilogy" masterfully, and never skips a beat. I think that the element of suspense (Will Calista ever feel the force again?), Evil (Pealleon AND Dalla !?!), and good triumphing (kind of self explanatory :) ) will really make you want to read this book over and over again. There are also funny things that happen, like the Darksaber project (Oops. Substandard materials, but what a deal! We hired these little guys for CHEAP! KABOOM!!!). I especially find Durga the Hutt funny. I sure would hate to be one of his flunkies, though (ZAP!!!). Again, I strongly recommend it
Rating: Summary: Not the best, but I've seen worse. Review: Darksaber did keep the action going and going smoothly, until the end. Although giving the Hutts a superweapon did get a little interesting, its fate was inevitable. While it had a lot going for it, had Anderson made it into a trilogy he would have had a much better story. To put it bluntly, it tries to cram in what should be left for a three parter into one book
Rating: Summary: It was great. Review: Like everyone else says the Superwepon thing is getting old, but the twist with the Hutts made it a lot more interesting. I especially like the way
Kevin J. Anderson took all of the characters (that
I had read about) whose fate was unknown until then, (such as Admiral Daala and Kyp Durron) and wrote what happened to them. Anderson has captured
the feeling of Star Wars at its best.
Rating: Summary: Pitiful attempt at Star Wars mastery. Review: Kevin J. Anderson is a decidedly anti-Empire author, which is bad enough. What's worse, the plot simply bottoms out at the end. The Empire is depicted as weak and splintered, and the focus of the whole plot, Darksaber itself, is grossly misused at the conclusion. The reader is truly let down, because the whole worry on the Rebellion's part is unjustified, because it is destroyed before it ever threatens them. Pitiful book, as are all of his others. Don't buy it, but if you have it, spit on it, burn it, and warn others
Rating: Summary: Start Reading!!!! Review: Kevin Anderson writes yet another book in the wonderful world of Star Wars! In Darksaber all the familliar heroes are there-with some new heroes as well. The Empire, lead by Admiral Daala, and the Hutts rear their ugly heads at the same time- and it is up to Luke and the rest of the gang to stop them! The best Star Wars book yet
Rating: Summary: READ!!! Review: There are a lot of mixed feelings about this book, I thought as I read all of the reviews. I think that it was a fast- paced novel showing lots of perspectives of what the characters are feeling. Sure, the Death Star thing does get a little old, but it does make for an interesting story
Rating: Summary: Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I can't wait to read what happens next! Anderson should have made this into a trilogy
Rating: Summary: Not the best of Andersons books, But still verry good. Review: I am a die hard Anderson fan. I recomend the Jedi Academy Trillogy and the Tales Of Books more, but this is definitly one for the bookshelf. I agree with other readers that the Death Star is old, but I think that, althogh the book is named after it, it is not really a big part in the story
