Rating: Summary: Not a very enjoyable Book :( Review: Hi ! I'm a little bit disapointed about this Book, as the Storyline can be easily told. I'd know what would happen 2-3 pages before. So, maybe the story should be a a little more complex. ok, so I won't read this book again, but I'm anxios to get to know others.
Rating: Summary: not too bad but it could be better Review: this book was decent but I thought Mr. anderson messed up Callista's personalty. she should have more of a mind of her own and not hang on Luke all of the time. I thought she was great in Children of the Jedi!
Rating: Summary: GOTTA LOVE KEVIN J.ANDERSON FOR THIS Review: Hello all you STAR WARS fans. I thought this was a good book. I think(much like the rest of you) that is should have been made into a series, but it wasn't and it was still good. I think Anderson was smart to have brought back all of the Characters from all the other previous books (Admiral Daala, Pellaeon, and all the other Fav.'s) It also pickes up right were the Children of the Jedi picks up I recomend this book to all of you Star Wars fans. Sure it doesn't compare to Jedi Academy Trilogy but it is good.
Rating: Summary: Fast paced page turner with great bad guys Review: I thought this was a good book but the plot could of been thicker. My favorite character had to be Admiral Daala. I liked how she united the Empire and killed the warlords. It was cool how she still escaped and beat Callista. I hope in future books she doesn't die because it is cool to know that part of the Empire is still there. The Hutt superweapon plot was pretty lame, but I didn't suspect that it crash into an astroid. I loved Luke's encounter with the one-armed Wampa. I think Callista Should of died in The Super-Star Destroyer Crash.Darksaber is a fast paced page turner that took me three days to finish and that is because I was busy and didn't have much time to read. It is a great book. Keep up the great work Mr. Anderson. P.S. I loved the executions.
Rating: Summary: Best Anderson book yet!!! Review: Darksaber was an excellent book with a great plot. The superweapon concept is getting a little old by now though. Callista got an excellent springboard off Children of the Jedi. But, the concept of Dorsk 81 using the force to through Palleon's fleet of Yavin was a litlle crazy. But it kept me reading! Buy it!
Rating: Summary: Not the best but by far not the worst Review: I loved his book, but The Jedi Academy Omnibus was better by far.
Rating: Summary: Colossal! Review: The entire thing was well written, although I absoloutely hate Callista (with a vengance) and the big-superweapon-with obvious-fate-plot is a bit old. I loved returning to Hoth with the one-armed wampa and visiting with Dorsk 81 on Khomm. His (warning if you haven't read the book stop here!)death was ingenious as was Crix Madine's. I also liked Lemelisk's execution.
Rating: Summary: DARKSABER Review: THIS WAS THE BEST OF ALL THE STAR WARS BOOKS WRITTEN, BESIDES THE MOVIE TRILOGY BOOKS. I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. 4 STARS, A PERFECT 10, TWO THUMBS UP.
Rating: Summary: Definitely not the best... Review: Another superweapon? What's next? An alien force tries to capture Leia's children (again!). All in all I rather liked this novel except for the Hutt/superweapon theme. I thought this whole subplot ran into a deadend and was too easily disposed of at the conclusion of the novel.
And this leads me to the Star Wars novels of late. Yes, there's a formula in writing them and you can't kill off the main characters but I would like to challenege the authors out there. How about you give us readers less of the superweapons and more creative thinking? Try stepping outside the typical Star Wars themes and do something different. (How about a trilogy in which the remaining Imperials and rebels need to work together to stop an alien race...) Anything would be better than the same old themes.
As for what I liked in Darksaber: Anderson has a good knack at building an action scene. The battles were well written yet the entire suspense of the novel was rather weak
Rating: Summary: Well Written, Well Recieved Review: Okay, that death star thing is a wee bit too old and used. However, that is "Darksaber"'s only flaw. Better then it's predissesor "Children of the Jedi", this book sucessfully continues the story of Luke and Calista's relationship. It also has the amount of action that I"ve come to expect. Go, Kevin, and keep up the good work
