Summary: Shadow is possibly the coolest "elf-book" around...
Review: "Never trifle with an elf, a theif, or a woman... Shadow is all three!" How incredibly accurate. Here's a good read about a cocky, mischevious theif who steals what she wants, when she wants, be it a purse, or a kiss from a cute fellow... Nobody would mind a life like that! However, there's a slight problem within the Guild of Thieves, mainly involving the leader, who happens to be a corrupt, gluttonous, incompetant and generally MALE guy. Between running for her life and running for a good look at the random cute fellow she was following through the crowd, this book is darn amusing! The plot takes some great twists, especially with the appearance of her friends. Keep watch for the mysterious assassin Blade, and beware her price...

Summary: Tough to put this one down until well into the wee hours.
Review: An elvin thief with an eye for a good looking hunk; that's Shadow. She's got a sense of humor, a ready blade, and a sense of decency. Odd for a thief? This book gives a female thief's point of view on the subject of larceny, adventure, and an occasional roll in the hay. Very well done.

Summary: A fun read!
Review: I have read this book more than a few times, each time being just as enjoyable as the time before. Anne Logston's vision of what an elf really is matches mine almost perfectly. She gives her characters depth, not from over-lengthy descriptions, but from behaviors and actions the characters take.

This is a relatively short book, but it is engaging and full of life: not as depressing or angst-ridden as many novels out on the market.

The only issue I have with her writing is the way she spells 'elven' as elvan'. Aside from this minor detail, however, Shadow is a wonderful book! I would recommend it to anyone wanting a fun, light fantasy story that the imagination can build upon endlessly.

Summary: A witty, mysterious romp mixed with intrigue :)
Review: Logston has outdone herself as she sets the scene for the two other Shadow novels. Shadow is witty, mischevious, daring and jovial, and gives this novel a certain spice that made me want to read it nonstop! I certainly recommend this novel to fantasy lovers who enjoy something set to a different tune once in awhile. A fantastic read!!! :)

Summary: A wonderful story that leaves you wanting more.
Review: One of thoese books that you can not put down and yet hate to have it end. You will keep searching for more as it takes you into not only the story but your private feelings. This is a must read more the once book.

Summary: A delightful ride...
Review: Shadow cared only for her comfort. She enjoyed wine, a fat purse and a handsome fellow. But she also got into a lot of trouble. It could be because she was a woman, or because she was an elf, but most of the time it was because she was a thief.
So when everybody seems to wish her dead she is hard pressed to find the reason. Did she do something to upset them or are they just out to get her because of who she is?
Either way, if she doesn't find out soon she'll be dead. And she enjoys life to much to allow that to happen!

Summary: This book is rich in detail and intrigue
Review: Shadow is a wonderful mischevious character who is caught up in a mystery that is out of her league. she is an intriguing matriarch of the elves of the heartwood, and she is a most cunning trickster. This book is rich in detail and intrigue. a reader who loves a mischevious fantasy with a lot of dry humor and action will love Shadow and the other books in this series.

Summary: Extremely Entertaining
Review: Shadow is an extremely entertaining book; well-written and fast-moving with a definate plot that could be believed (on the premise of a world with magic and elves) although it is classified as a young adult book, it's interesting to teenagers on up. Great literature it may not be, but something to relax to and have fun with, it's terrific!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wonderful, surprising, fun-to-read enjoyment.
Review: SHADOW, the best looking, surprisingly funny, and cunningly smart woman-elf-thief. But I wouldn't mind to have in every story I read. Along with a picture of her!
