Rating: Summary: Not great Review: This latest edition of the Jedi Apprentice series was not so good as several that have gone before. The main reason for this is that virtually nothing happened. I read the book in <1 hour, and I felt like it had been pointless. Though this is not the end of the series, the author has gotten rid of the main focus of the whole thing. This book also had the same basic plot elements of those which have gone before -- a whole planet's population is obsessed with one event, which obviously isn't that great. Despite all it's misgiving, the interactions between Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon have gone back up to a level of excellence. They finally get somewhere new in their relationship, and they realize that said relationship doesn't always have to be perfect. This is a very good character book, but the plot was quite lacking.
Rating: Summary: i just loved this book i would give it a 12 on my scall. Review: THIS ONE WAS THE BEST ONE YET OUT OF ALL OF THEM. I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE FIGHT FOR TRUTH WITCH IS NUMBER 9. I HOPE IT IS AS GOOD AS THIS ONE WAS. YOU MUST READ THIS ONE A.S.A.P.
Rating: Summary: You HAVE to read this book Review: This time Jude Watson has outdone herself. I really can't tell about the plot because if I do, the book would be ruined. Well to begin, Qui-gon and Obi-wan are traveling to Xanatos's homeplanet, Telos ( which we knew from the preview at the end of book 7) to bring him to justice. ( I know, I know, you knew that.) What they find is a bit more than what they bargained for, to say the least. The funniest book in the series but still action-packed. I wonder what is going to happen in book number 9, "The Fight for Truth."
Rating: Summary: Love the series, but wish this one was more thought out Review: Well, as usual i coudn't put this book down, i absolutly love the series. I can relate very well with Obi-wan's search for trust and acceptance. This book's plot was good, i especially liked the way it showed how we can allow the government to control us, as long as we get our money. Greed has been the downfall of many a nation. I really enjoyed the surprise ending too, though to me it seemed too easy. Can Xanatos really be gone? The only thing i didn't like was the fact that the plot seemed rushed, it wasn't as well thought out as the other books. But whatever! Sometimes I wish QUi-Gon and Obi-wan would land in my backyard, and help solve some of this planets problems. I do hope that Jude will keep writing this series for years to come, because i don't think i'll ever tire of it!
Rating: Summary: A Realy Good book Review: Well, I've read all the Jedi Apprentice books, and I will have to agree with anyone that says that this book is, if not THE best, amongst the best. For the first time in 8 books I felt that our to heroes were beginning to connect with each other...and boy was THAT a relief! My only criticism is on the characters themselves. "Den" reminded me too much of "Guerra"...replacing "Not so, I lie!" with "Kill me if..!". That, and it seems that all the alien species in this galaxy resemble, or are humans! What happened to the endless luxury and array of alien species, and other life forms so typical to the "Satr Wars" galaxy? While I enjoy and support the on-going theme of adding women in the "Star Wars" universe, the idea is beginning to wear itself thin. I would prefer that the women be randomly inserted in the plot than have them constantly in important and\or high statures with high morals (See Bant, Andra, Queen Veda...ect.). They also seem to have more capabilities than most of the other characters. It's not that very realistic. (And trust me...I am female, and I would prefer a slight "tone down" on the subject.) Other than that, I thought the book was very good. But I would like to comfort all those who think Xanatos won't be back. Xanatos is to Qui-gon, what Anakin was to Obi-wan. If Darth Vader can crawl out of a volcanic pit and live, Xanatos will find a way to come back (Which reminds me...weren't those incident similar or what?). Besides, if we knew he managed to get away, how big would be the "shock" when he came back? >;} Aside form that, I would have liked more father-son bonding on Qui-gon's and Obi-wan's behalf...but trust me, if you buy this book, you will enjoy it thoroughly.
Rating: Summary: Wow this is the best, yet! Review: When I got this book,I fell in love with it. This is the best book out of the Jedi Apprentice books. I also loved it because Qui-gon Jinn took Obi-wan Kenobi back as his aprrenitce- padawan and give on of his rae smiles was just so touching. I would give this book a 100 stars if I chould. Get this book youi will love it, but if you have not read the other JEDI Apprentice books read thoses first before reading this one you will love the Jedi Appentice books.
Rating: Summary: I am sure we can all say we are highly satisfied. Review: Yep, as I finished this book a nice feeling filled me. At least we see the relationship between our two heroes developed in a father - son one. At least the master accepts his padawan. This acceptance is even better and stonger than the first time as gui gong aknowledge their differences and that the path in front of them will be a hard but enjoyable one. The only little thing that annoyed me is that it seems that out two jedis were not as efficient as usual, also sometimes in these books we wonder why Obi Wan is a padawan when it looks like he is doing everything as well as GI Gong (sorry cannot speel it. I also really appreciate the jedi lessons which seem to be good ones even for us. So I hope we will have more jedi wisdom in the next one. Finally why do we have to wait two months to get only 150 pages. Please publish the books two by two and make them much longer.
