Summary: Good book for Star Wars fans
Review: This book, like all the other in its series, I believe, is a dramatic success for all Star Wars series. However I must admit that my frustration at the master\padawan relationship is just as thriving like everyone else's. I admit that the slow growing bond lends a bit of tension and in the series as well as between characters, but to me it doesn't make sense. Qui-gon was so willing to bounce to Xanatos' side as well as Anakin's, yet Obi-wan-one of the most noble, lovable characters in all of Star Wars -is continually picked on and tortured. While Qui-gon's bond to Xanatos was clearly close, I suspected that I, like most fans, would think that Obi-wan is a "favorite" amongst his padawan's. (At least this was the impression I got from all the fandome, novels and commentaries by George and such) Even though, I believe that the author, as a first time Star Wars writer, is doing a very well job, and I will continue to buy these books just to see if the father\son like bond will finally get to where it's going!

Oh by the way, I too am way out of the sujested age group. In fact, I'm 40 and reading these books to my children every night has become the highlight of our after dinner activities!

Summary: Great book in the Star Wars Jedi Apprentice line!
Review: This is definetly a good Apprentice book, in fact, you SHOULD read it. It features many unique characters, and a good scenario. If you ever wondered why Obi-Wan is left alone so many times in Episode 1, you'll find out here. I loved reading about how Obi-Wan handles the situation in this book by himself, while his master (Qui-Gon) goes elsewhere to investigate. Betrayal, dueling, drama, its all in here.

Summary: THE Best!
Review: This is such a good book! I started out reading The Rising Force and The Dark Rival, the two books that begin the series. They are all so good! I looooove Star Wars, so when I spotted the Jedi Apprentice series, I got them right away. All the books are absolutely great! Jude Watson is such a good writer. The story is full of excitement, and if you've already read this books, read the rest! They're all great!

Summary: Very enjoyable!
Review: This one had a very interesting plot and I was pleased it showed Qui Gon's relationship with Obi Wan strengthening a little bit more. It progresses with each book in the series. One of my favorite parts was the end where Qui Gon was clearly impressed and surprised by all his padawan had been able to accomplish without him. Also in this book, you get to see a rare, wistful side of Qui Gon which to me makes his character more believable. He's a jedi, but he's still human. A very good addition to an excellent series which I think adults enjoy as much as children!

Summary: Ohhhhh yesssss.....
Review: This one was BETTER than the last three. It managed to mix a detective story and a fairy tale, and still have the great "tell us about Qui's and Obi's relationship" element in there. Some super quotes, Qui-Gon gets hurt, and THAT COVER ART!!!!!!! BUY IT NOW YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!

Summary: Enjoyed more on the master/ apprentice relationship
Review: Though the books in this series are a little short, I enjoy the exploration of the master/ apprentice relationship which we don't get in the Star Wars movies. Book #4 particularly looked at Jedi feelings and a need for a legacy.

Summary: Not my favorite so far, but an exellent book just the same
Review: Well, the first thing I should say is, this is a great book. I really enjoyed it, and I thought it had incredible character development and good scenery discriptions. It is very interesting to find out what Obi-Wan was like as a little kid. (Well, thirteen at least) And in truth he is a lot like any other kid, a bit uncertain, insecure at times, and it is also compelling to see how he tries so hard to please Qui-Gon, but he never seems to. What he doesn't understand is that Qui-Gon is just trying to protect him from ending up like Xanotos, which is a kind thing to do, but for Obi-Wan a bit frustrating. Anyway, in this book, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon continue their original mission to Gala before they were sidetracked on Phindaar. When they hear the dying queen's sad story, they begin to wonder if there could be another heir besides her greedy son Beju. Qui-Gon goes to find this person, while Obi-Wan stays in the palace pretending that Qui-Gon is still there and he discovers some very interesting evidence about the queens's condition... That's all I'll say for the benefit of those who havn't read it yet, and I do encourage you to read it, though it would make more sense if you had read the other three first. I would recommend this series to any Star Wars fan, whether you had seen Episode 1 or not, since frankly, I didn't think it was as good as the other Star Wars movies and this series takes place years before and really doesn't have anything to do with it anyway. :-)

Summary: Awesome! Just Awesome!
Review: Well, what can I say! Truly the best! My fav. part is when Obi-Wan gets locked in the freezer! I got this book a little late so I also have the 5th book. The only person in this series who frustrates me is Qui-Gon! He's WAY too serious! I just wish he would be a little more understanding! Something that is really funny is how Obi-Wan loses his lightsaber in every book! Get this boy some SUPERGLUE! Take it from me, a huge Star Wars fan from age 5, who had to sneak the book past the Star Wars haters, all the way down the hall to my best friends, the Star Wars lovers! I recommend this book to any Star Wars fan! P.S. Obi-Wan being my age, I wish he could have a girlfriend =)!
