Rating: Summary: Another great addition to this series Review: I fall far beyond the 9-12 year age range set for the Jedi Apprentice series, but being a avowed Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon fan I decided to give them a read. Much to my delight, all the books have proven well structured and enjoyable, even for this "adult" Star Wars fan. I have been eagerly awaiting this latest installment for the past month. Once again, the story is engaging and well written. We watch as the interplay between master and apprentice continues to evolve, and sigh when miscommunication and misunderstanding shake the foundation of their fledgling realtionship. We empathize with Obi-Wan's frustration in dealing with a master whose motivations are often obscure and who has a tendency to skirt the rules. As for Qui-Gon, we keep wishing he would just sit down and TALK to the boy. The two of them are very human, and very endearing. As for the cover... another interesting and colorful work of art. I can appreciate these books for the covers alone! Can't wait till the next in the series comes out. The blurb makes it sound perhaps the most exciting so far! If you are a Star Wars fan, and especially a fan of Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, this series is a must read, no matter your age.
Rating: Summary: Missing the detail Review: I have read all the books in this series so far, and all I can say is WOW! While I think the series is great, I have but to criticize it a little as well. I was very impressed with how the author handled the several interesting plot lines, and managed to entangle them, however, this isn't the part which needs adjusting. With such accuracy evolved, I was displeased to notice how so many of the facts and characters in this series contradict the typical "Star Wars" universe. Obi-wan was an orphan, and had no family, Owen was not his brother (A common mistake ever since the novelazation of "Star Wars" came out, this can easily be proved by going to the official "Star Wars" site) and all the alien species are always created in a human form and not typical to the exotic "Star Wars" universe. Anyhow, I still enjoy this series very much as it seems to be the only that gives justice to the name it carries, but if you are a person who THRIVES on detail, then be prepared to be slightly disappointed.
Rating: Summary: The best bok in the galaxy!!!!!! Review: I have read the other three books of the jedi apprentice and fell in love with them!! When I saw #4 I had to get it. I got it I read it and it was the best book I ever read! I can hardly wait till #5 comes out, then I can read how it turns out to be. p.s. I would give it over 20 stars!!!!
Rating: Summary: Great Series Review: I just wanted to say that I LOVE this series! This new book is a wonderful addition and I can't wait until I read the next one in the series. Even though the books are geared toward younger readers..at 17 I love them. So I just want to say if you are a Star Wars Fan check out this series....its great for everyone...keep up the good work...
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: I really enjoyed number four in the Jedi Apprentice series, The Mark of the Crown. I have read it about six times now. It is great. I recommend this book to everyone! I did not like Prince Beju in this book. He was awful! I also did not like Jono. I love pretending that I am Obi-Wan Kenobi [ but, of course I am Obi-Wan so what difference does it make ]. If you like Star Wars I think you should read this book. But just to warn you, be prepared for some shocking stuff to happen.
Rating: Summary: I absolutely love this series! Review: I really like the Jedi Apprentic series! There is only one problem: the age group! I'm thirteen, and I still enjoy reading these things. The first book I had to SNEAK out of school when I got it, or whatever reputation I had would have been pulverized. Besides, I'm writing some fanfic and these books actually help me to develop the reputation between my character and her master realisticly. Anyhowz, I hope that the next one comes out SOON!
Rating: Summary: i loved this book!!!!! Review: i really liked this book better than the hidden past. it told you more of the Master-Padawan relation.I sympathsize with Obi-Wan, but on the other hand, if a master and padawan are really close, like Qui-Gon and Xanatos, it really must have hurt Qui-gon and he needs a little time to heal, espically after that last encounter with him. Hang on Obi-wan!!!
Rating: Summary: My Love For The Jedi Review: I think all of the Jedi books are the best books. I am a 14 year old 8th grader, but I LOVE these books. I have every single one of them. I read them over and over until a new one comes out. They are filled with excitement. I have seen Star Wars Episode 1 fourteen times. I am probably the books and their author's biggest fans.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book Review: I think if you are looking for a book with a littl this and a lot of that then this is the book for you. Consider these factors: 1.) this book (to my opinion) is not only for young readers but for adults. 2.) You do not need to be familiar with the Star Wars universe and its web of charcters to enjoy it. 3.) This book teaches much moral and to give this to a child it might inspire them to follow such teachings. 4.)It involves such morals like family first, trust your first instincts, violence isn't needed to solve all problems and other morals I think anyone at any age can understand with deep meaning. 5.) Now you don't need to be a hippie or someone looking for enlightenment to absolutely unerstand these morals but overall what can I say but it makes you think deeply about how you can change yourself to be a better person emotionally. 6.) The authoe Jude Watson is indeed a remarkable person. Jude put shuch detail into say a fighting scence I don't think George Lucas could have done any better. 7.) The best thing about this book is that you can enjoy a Star Wars experience without watching a movies for 2 hours. The book allows you to enjoy a star wars experince at your own pace and you can take it anywhere. I know with technology today you can also take a poratabe dvd player and watch and one of the 3 Star wars movies while traveling but I think the perhaps the best advantage you have with this book is that it is portable and you can enjoy it to the fullest extent becasue the only pictures you see are the ones your brain makes.
Rating: Summary: Hopes for a stronger bond Review: I think that the author of this book deserves a very big round of applause! Since the beginning of the series, my 3 children and I (one of which is out of the suggested age group) have enjoyed reading the great adventures of Obi-wan and Qui-gon. However, no matter the excellence of the plot, all 4 of us (yes, I too am a big fan of the series) have been disappointed with the bond between Qui-gon and Obi-wan. It seems very cold, and it is very hard to explain to my children that Qui-gon doesn't hate Obi-wan even though he acts like it. Even my eldest, a 15 year old, could not understand the meaning or reason for the cold bond. While the series is reigning with supremacy, I would suggest that it be kept away from smaller children who are partial to loving parent-children bonds. They for sure will not understand. Meanwhile, my children and I will continue reading the books with hope of a brighter future for the bond between are two beloved heroes. May the force be with you!
