Rating: Summary: Hmm. Extraordinary, this book is! Buy it you must! Review: There's not much to say. This book RULES, period. No questions asked. Oh, ....
Rating: Summary: Makes me wanna join "The Young" Review: To tell the truth, I started reading the "Jedi Apprentice" series from this book on. It's the cover that got me to buy it (Saw Cerasi & figured "A Star Wars book with a dame like that can't be all that bad"). Anyways this book is excellent because it shows children as a key player in a war. Their group, "The Young", attempts to prevent war between the Melida & Daan tribes.
Rating: Summary: Great, Great, Great, Great,GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: Wow! Jude Watson really knows how to make a WHOPPER of a book! Everything about this novel was astounding! GREAT cover, GREAT characters, GREAT drama, GREAT EVERYTHING!!! What a decision at the end! Personally, I would've stayed on Melida/Daan to help out Cerasi, Nield, & the rest of the Young. Speaking of Cerasi, is it just me or do I see ROMANCE between her & Obi-Wan!!
Rating: Summary: GOOD BOOK Review: This book could have been better but it's still good. I think it wasn't very smart of Obi-Wan to stay on Melida/Daan. I would have staied with Qui-Gon the whole time.
Rating: Summary: The Defenders Of The Dead Review: A very surprising, fast-paced addition to the series, The Defenders Of The Dead is certainly not what readers expect -- each chapter is more surprising then the previous one, and the action scenes are very suspenseful and you always want to know what will happen next. Obi Wan and his Master Qui Gonn are on the planet of the Melida and the Daan, a planet split into two peoples each determined to conquer the other out of hatred and vengeance. Many a bloodshed and innumerable losses have taken place into the never ending wars between the Melida and the Daan, and peace is never met. Only a band of teenagers called the Young try to make peace, no matter what it costs them. Tahl is weakening , and Qui Gon and Obi Wan must save her and restore her health. Each problem Obi Wan and Qui Gonn face is brutal ; they have to rescue Tahl and try to help the Melida/Daan. Obi Wan faces a personal decision. And soon, his own heart is beginning to find a new place -- a place far from Qui Gonn's. Their mission must be completed, but things are about to take a very unexpected turn... and everything is at a risk. This was a highly enjoyable book in the series and a major turning point of the characters. Jude Watson did a great job on The Defenders Of The Dead.

Rating: Summary: A most exellent and heartfelt book Review: I must say, that when I first saw this series in the bookstore I didn't bother to give them a second glance, since I was so impressed with other children's Star Wars series (Young/Junior Jedi Knights) that I was certain that none other could come close, especially those associated with Episode 1, which I was somewhat unimpressed with. I found though, that my instincts had been wrong once again. They are great! Definitly equal to other kids Star Wars series, and even some of the adult novels I've read. Though the writing does tend to be somewhat simple, and definitly geared towards younger readers than myself, this does not stop it from being deep and heartfelt, and certainly worth reading for any Star Wars fan, no matter what their age. In this book, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon head to the planet Melida/Daan, a world so caught up with civil war they can't even agree on a name for their planet! Their mission is to rescue Tahl, a Jedi Knight who disapeared there and is possibly wounded or dead. However, as you can probably guess, things do not go exactly as planned, and they end up getting involved with the Young, a group of children from both sides ready to use violence to ultimatly end their parants war. Obi-Wan begins to be drawn away, caught up in their cause, and begins to wonder if he was right to decide to become a Jedi... Anyway, this book was great and I recommend it to Star Wars fans of any age, especially kids twelve and under.
