Rating: Summary: Stunning!! Review: Continuing the tale of Jaenelle and the Blood, this second book of the Dark Jewels Trilogy is as excellently written as "Daughter of the Blood". Ms. Bishop sustains the unbroken thread of multiple storylines in a dark, erotic, world shafted by sunlight, vibrancy and love, with consistancy, "real" people you actually care about, well-written prose, and humor. This is one world well worth visiting over and over!! We eagerly await "Queen of the Darkness".
Rating: Summary: So you'll know a bit about this book Review: The only reason I didn't give this book a 5 star rating is because it didn't have Deamon my favorite charactor, (other than Jaenelle)in it a lot. This is the long awaited continuation of Daughter of the Blood. Jaenelle returns to her body after her nerve racking time in the abyss. One thing is different... she doesn't remember anything from the night at Cassandra's Alter back to who knows when. Most important... she forgotten Deamon. Deamon uncertain of what happened at the Alter slowly drives himself mad working away on his already weak mind. Although Jaenelle is back she isn't healed she puts a wall between herself and everyone else, and treats her body like an enemy worth nothing but her contemp an anger. She can't hold those memores away for ever. The twisting shadows that haunt her mind. Saetan, Lucivar, Jaenelle all do their own growing up but where is Daemon? Daemon the fourth side of the triangle, the golden key, the lover, the sadist, the consort of Witch? Will there be anything left of him worth saving if they do find him? Another great novel from Anne Bishop is now on my bookshelf.
Rating: Summary: A Blessed Relief! Review: I've been reading Fantasy novels since the age of 7 (Piers Anthony started me out), and I must say that this is one of the first Fantasy novels that have spoken to me like this in a long time. I read it and start giggling out loud, or crying as the case may be. I find a lot of authors that can give me one reaction or the other, but not often both at once. These characters are stunningly real, and I'm relieved to find that I'm not as jaded as I thought. Every month or so, I find myself searching to discover if the Queen is out yet. Anne Bishop, HAVE PITY ON US!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely the best trilogy I've ever read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I *need* the third book!!!!! I've fallen in love with all the characters (except Hekatah)!!!! And I just love the variety of friends Jaenelle has, from Human to Centaur to Unicorn and just about everything else. Being a huge fan of half elves, Sureal is by far my favorite character. I was crushed when Kaetien was killed and moved by the description of his "memorial". If you haven't read these books, do.
Rating: Summary: Best Series in a long while Review: I am so impressed with this series and so angry that the 3rd book is not available now. Gimme, gimme, gimme. I'm completely involved with the characters and love how the've developed and interact with each other. The befuddlement of the males with Janelle just make me laugh (just as it should be) and now that the 3rd book is not available I am pouring over the first two all the time. Someone shd have told me the 3rd wasn't available so I wouldn't stay up all night finishing the two I've got. Grrrr I'm starving here - feed me.
Rating: Summary: The Best Trilogy Ever!!!!! Review: I loved every single moment in Daughter of the Blood and Heir to the Shadows and I can't wait till Queen of the Darkness comes out. I like the parts where Saeten and his sons get tripped over or embrassed by Jaenelle's actions or comments. Plus I have read each book like ten times already and am dying to read Queen of the Darkness. Though I have one thing to say and that is that the cover of each book does not seem to properly portray Jaenelle really well. Well thats all.
Rating: Summary: Damn good trilogy Review: I have read a many a book but i say i was traped buy these two (daughter of the blood, heir to the shadows) stayed in my room all night and day i couldn't seem to put it down. i'm going insane waiting for Queen,wow........
Rating: Summary: The Second Best book I have ever read Review: (Hey, Daughter of the Blood was pretty hard to beat!) I am in love with Daemon after reading the 2 books in this series. I can't wait for the 3rd book! Surreal is great. I really hope she gets to meet Titian sometime soon. Jaenelle's somewhat abnormal childhood is a fascinating, sometimes humerous mix of The Godfather and The Addams Family. If you never do anything else with your life, I recommend you at least read this book.
Rating: Summary: SO cool!! Review: I loved Hair to the Shadows. Its a great 2nd book for a trilogy, and the second is always the hardest...its like intermission. I wished there could have been more Daemon (like every one else...can u blame us?) but i understood why she did it. The second book gave us a clearer view of Lucivar, (who btw i hope ends up with Karla! they'd be perfect for eachother!) and considering the fact hes part of that Blood Trangle...it fit. Can't wait til Queen comes out!
Rating: Summary: Anne Bishop's books are realy good Review: I realy love these books. The dark magic that surrounds Daemon, Lucivar, Saetan, and Jaenelle is great, I picked up the first book and I could hardly stop reading it. I can Hardly wait till Queen of the Darkness comes out. In Heir to the Shadows I was realy disapointed that Daemon and Surreal weren't in the book.
