Rating: Summary: good book Review: Good book! It needed to be about 5 or 6 chapters longer, it just felt as though it was missing some depth to the charactors and he could have expanded some about the situations of the people that were on Thorin. Overall, it's a good solid book that sets the story for MANY more novels to come covering the FEDCOM civil war.

Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: I loved it. I too was tired of the Capellan stuff. I won't give away the book either, but, the fighting was good and the book even pulled of a nice little suprise move toward the end. What I really like is that, unlike some other BT books, the enemy commander(the 15th Arcturan Guard's Colonel) was NOT an evil, overreaching idiot, but an Honorable man stuck in a bad situation. And I liked the sneak peeks into the future of BT provided in the little 'news clips' at the beginning of each Chapter. I can't wait to see Kathrine get what is coming to her lol.
Rating: Summary: Standard so-so fare Review: I'm not sure what happened, but it has been quite some time since I've actually been *pleased* by an entry from the Battletech series. I remember reading Heir to the Dragon, and falling absolutely in love with the intrigue, excitement, and characters of the Inner Sphere. I've read every book in the series since... and it just seems each gets simpler, and simpler, and more cliche.. and lamer.. and lamer.. This isn't a bad book, compared to the past..5-10 in the series. However, I just have problems with the way the characters develop. We have a war hero, supposedly forced to confront his worst fear, rebel against authority, place his planet under great danger, and fight a war against a man he respects,... and yet he makes the choice so easily and willingly. Is he torn? So the book tells us.. but I wouldn't mind if occasionally these pulp authors actually SHOWED us occasionally.
Rating: Summary: My Review Of Measure of a Hero Review: Measure of a Hero is possibly one of the best books i've ever read. It starts out with a quick plot and somehow Pardoe manages to spread the action out evenly throughout the book. The ending is spectacular and, sadly, that's when it ended. I'd definately suggest it for Battletech fans.
Rating: Summary: This book rocks! Review: Okay....strap in, turn off the phone, the tv, and get set for the ride of your life! The Davion/Steiner bloodfeud erupts full force. Caught in the middle is a hero of the clan war, Archer Christifori, who becomes leader of the rebellion on the planet Thorin. News snippets in the front of each chapter give hints about what is happening in the Inner Sphere, looks like bad news for the Lyran Alliance and the Federated Suns, but good news for us! This is the first book in this series in a long time that I have been seriously amped about after setting it down. Way to go Mr. Pardoe, come back soon!
Rating: Summary: WHAT A BOOK! Review: This book was amazing! I made the mistake of reading "Call of Duty" first, so I was a little confused about Christifori (the main character). I was also suprised at the way Christifori treated Colonel Blucher, especialy in the end. And the ending... was AWESOME! What a move!! THIS IS A MUST READ!!!

Rating: Summary: BEST BOOK EVER!!!! Review: this is simply one of Pardoes best books. It has a ton of battles, and the plot doesnt just spring up like other books. This is also the start of a civil war folks.i recomend this book to anyone willing to read it.
Rating: Summary: Just another novel Review: We are on the planet Thorin. A war hero of the clan war, Archer Christifori, now leader of the local militia, is torn between two authorities: Victor and his duty to the Federated Commonwealth. This is the mainstory and it would be a very bad battletech novel if there wasn't something else: Victor is accusing is sister Katherine. God save the Queen. It is done. The question is:what would you expect Archer to do and if a militia fights a front class unit what would be the end of it? Ask this book. It is interesting, but only the information of Victor vs. Katherine makes it more than the normal battletech stuff.
