Rating: Summary: I was hoping for more. Review: Jeter made some of the characters out to be what they are not. Boba Fett is a loner and Jeter always puts him with a partner. There are a lot of faults but not worth my time remembering. If you are thinking of reading this trilogy, don't. Read the Han Solo trilogy, they are a lot more entertaining.
Rating: Summary: Just as bad as its predicessor Review: After reading this and Medalorean Armor I can say that these are a mockery to the Star Wars universe. They got the charactors all wrong. Bosck is not a fool and niether was Dengar. The only Redeaming quality to this books is Balancesheet who I found to be a fananating charactor. Jeter should never write another Star Wars book so he can't do any more damage.
Rating: Summary: Slow, Boring... nothing happens Review: Jetter must have ilusions of grandeur for an universe that is just too big for him. Whatever depth other books had built into bounty hunters such as Bossk, Dengar and Zuckuss is easily destroyed by Jetter's plot and writing style. Although "Mandalorian Armor" was quite interesting, "Slave Ship" is slow and relies too much on reader's interest to keep you reading it.Jetter's attempt at presenting things out of chronology is a poor and sorry excuse for writing ability that just serves to further drag on and break the momentum. His characters seem flawed. Bossk is very slow and stupid sometimes, yet the second best bounty hunter (??). Zuckuss is a useless dumb bounty hunter who keeps coming back to be tricked and used by Boba Fett... (BTW, since he is a Gand, I would've expected more of the collective mindset seen in Rogue's Squadron Gand character - not a simplistic and stupid minded fool that just keeps getting screwed). Even Dengar, who is suppose dtobe a trained Imperial Assassin with a couple of loose screws is just presented as a dumb, slow redneck with not enough wits to realize that he is also getting screwed. The Xizor-Vader rivalry is again portraited, but this time it is dumb. In this novel, Xizor's goals do not really compare to anything that Vader would /should really concern himself with, and leaves out some of the exciting scenes that one would have expected after Shadows of the Empire. To give Jetter some credit, some characters are quite well done. Kuat of Kuat, as the impersonation of one of a smartest characters in the galaxy, with a little bit of a supremacist attitude coming from his genetic superiority over the other fanilies makes me wonder if this is really the author (i.e. the engineer of all these plots). Neelah is a very interesting character that can be further developed... For any Star Wars enthusiast, I'd only reccomend this novel after having read all other Star Wars books, but readers may be dissappointed. All in all, only one other Star Wars novel seems worse than this one, and only for different reasons.
Rating: Summary: Good but not like the first.... Review: I love the Bounty Hunters of Star Wars, When I read #1 of the Bounty Hunter Wars "Mandalorian Armor," I thought it was the best book ever, so I couldn't wait for the sequal. But the sequal was still good, it's just not as. It had a few chaptors that were boring. I'd only read it if you plan to read the whole saga. I can't wait for #3 to come out on July 6, 1999, called "Hard Merchandice." It will be cool.
Rating: Summary: More Boba Fett Review: I'm a Star Wars fan who has never read any of the books. I received it as a birthday present, from a non fan. Although I received it out of order, I enjoyed every minute of it. It took me three days to read, and as soon as I finished it, I ran out and got Mandalorian Armor. I finished that in two. At times I found certain passages and dialogue a bit wordy, but I can't wait for the third one. Prior to this, I didn't think twice about Boba Fett. I know he's a bad guy, but now, I'm rooting for him and can't get enough. After I read this book, I re-played the trilogy to get glimpses of him. I think this series would make a pretty decent movie.
Rating: Summary: Worst series that I have ever read Review: I love Star Wars. I collect as many of the books as I can and read them in less than 2 days. This book took me almost 2 weeks. It was so boring. None of the characters acted like themselves. Boba Fett talks way too much and is too friendly. Dengar acts like a wimp who couldn't even hold a blaster without scaring himself (that never happened, but it might as well have the way that Jeter displays his character). In Tales of the Bounty Hunters, Dengar was an Imperial assassin who was stripped of almost all emotion. Bossk was never the son of the leader of the Bounty Hunters Guild. Zuckuss is supposed to be the partner of 4-LOM, not a parttime friend of Fett that will pretend to be dead so Fett can get Bossk out of the way and get the bounty. Sorry, Jeter, but read Tales of the Bounty Hunters and watch the movies. It will really help with book 3.
Rating: Summary: Finally, an indepth look into Master Fett's world. Review: I believe this is a flawlessly written novel.I have been waiting for years for a decently written novel about Boba Fett. I loved his mysterious relationship to the dancing girl Neelah.I wonder what she has seen that we have not.
Rating: Summary: Disgusting Review: When I originally read The Mandalorian Armor, the series seemed ok, with only minor inconsistincies. Now reading the Slave Ship, my opinion of K.W. Jeter is falling rapidly. With major inconsistinces on every page, and with a fairly poor plot, the Slave Ship rates very low in my opinion. The only good thing about it is that it's a difference from the battle after battle X-Wing series (which were far better than the Slave Ship).
Rating: Summary: also a loser amoung winners in the star wars vien. Review: This book is pretty bad in my opinion. The author has trouble with basic syntax of the universte. His phrases are clunky, and obvious cut and paste jobs.. things like "wait a Standard Time Part" and other such gross substitutions... And the characterizations are pallid.
Rating: Summary: Pissed as an rabid Wookie! Review: Slave Ship like the oh so dull Mandalorian Armor novel, made me drowsy everytime I picked it up. It was a great concept but the actual product lacked the plot/action zing that characterizes star wars novels. Most of the more interesting characters in the novel (Kuat Kuat, Fett.) rambled for pages on end. It infuriates me that such an idea wasn't added to the star wars universe in a memorable way. The entire book seemed like an aside to the star wars universe. It didn't really fit. It's far from a Zahn trilogy novel or a Kevin J. Anderson. Readers should wait until this one gets in to the library to sit down with it. Save your money.
