Summary: Don't read this book if you cherish the Darksword Trilogy
Review: The novel by itself is fine. However, this book can't compare to the trilogy or the other books by the same author. Although I find the Darksword trilogy the gloomiest of all Weis & Tracy's novel I have read, they are a very good read and portray the human element (the emotion, the logic behind each action etc.) very well. This book lacks the depth and consistency. The plot is very very loose. I'm very disappointed with this book and don't think it deserve its place as the 'Legacy' of the DARKSWORD.

Summary: Sequels never work
Review: This book is, without a doubt, the worst Weis and Hickman book I have ever read. When I saw it for the first time I knew I had to get it. Then I sat down and read the first chapter and promptly put the book back on the shelf and walked away. Why?I'll tell you. First of all, the prose was bad. The words didn't flow: it seemed as if the author's were trying to put together wrong puzzle pieces. Second, why bring in this "I"? The Darksword trilogy was perfect without the addition of a new character (and one who seemed to have almost no dimension, I might add.) Then the aliens, once again, why? Then an angel from God comes down (I heard this from someone) and helps everyone out? Wouldn't it be better to have an angel from the Almin? And Mosiah. Why would he become part of the Duuk-tsarith? Didn't he hate them in the trilogy? And not only that, he was an Enforcer. Excuse me? Finally, Simkin? He was, perhaps, the second Darksword. Why bring him back from the dead? That's awful cheap, if you ask me.Hickman and Weis fans (of which I am one) can safely skip this book. Starshield was fairly good (about an 8) and now this weak book leaves me to ask: what next? Could it be that the author's have finally lost their charm? Of course, this book, like all of theirs, is sure to sell. But if they continue to put out books like this, I think I'll agree with Kirkus: they are well on the road to becoming the monarchs of no-brainer fantasy.

Summary: Don't read this book...it's a waste of time
Review: This fantasy/science fiction book has been wrote in annoying first person perspective, which has been nagging on my nerves for quite a while. To understand this Darksword Trilogy, it would be much easier to read the all the books in order, although you can vaguely understand it by just reading one novel of the series, like I just did.If I gave this book a rating out of ten, where ten is the best, I think I would give it a four. As I say again, the beginning was exciting and I wanted to read more, but as I got later into the book, I was bored and I fell asleep many times. The confusion of the book¡¯s mysteries also made me bored. But I don¡¯t think it was that bad. Overall, this book was a waste of time to read. By reading this book, I don¡¯t want to read the others in the series. The mixture of science fiction and fantasy screws everything up. The science fiction makes it too real and boring. Fantasy is usually action-packed sort of...you know what i'm sayin?

Summary: A good book, BUT YOU SHOULD READ IT BEFORE YOU REVIEW IT!!!!
Review: This is a remarkable book. HOWEVER, Writing a review it before you READ THE BOOK is the stupidest most idiotic thing sence Hitler attacked Russia. It is obvious that someone is extremely full of themseves when they think they can judge a book by the first few paragraphs!!!! It is remarkable about the tie ins of the "author" and the new mysteries. Once again if you READ THE BOOK you will know what I am TALKING ABOUT. I do admit that the Alien scheme is ALREADY taken and the Technomancers are enough it they were embelished some. THe ending is an increadible letdown, but the character additions and the more technical magic is enough of a boot to make this well worth reading! If the person who wrote that ridiculous review would email me, I COULD HELP THEM REALIZE HOW MAD THAT MAKES ME! Thank you, John C. Brownlee 15

Summary: This has got to be the best sequal of all!
Review: When I saw Legacy I nearly jumped out of my skin that Wies and Hickman came back for more. And when I got a copy of it (Thanks to a friend) I wouldn't return it untile I had read every square inch of it. All the twists (Such as Mosiah turning out to be Duuk- T'sarith and the return of the Dark Cults (Which if anyone bought Adventures and read the history of Thimhallan should know this) it kept me mesmerized for hours upon hours. And then the return of the Diviners (Though I was wondering where they hid? Maybe created a time pocket like the Duuk-T'sarith?) I flipped head over heels. This is going to help in my roleplays (I use Adventures to run a campaign) and I'm hoping they make a companion volume for this new book for stats on the Dark Cults. All in all. This book kicked serious butt.
