Summary: Avoid these books
Review: The problem with this trilogy is that none of the lead characters were acting in character. Leia was indecisive and unwilling to make a public stand (until the very end), Luke was a befuddled loser. And the ending was awful. Nothing particularly was resolved, no one (aside from Chewbacca) did anything particularly heroic. The Lando subplot went nowhere, as did the Luke subplot. Avoid this trilogy.

Summary: This trilogy couldn't be further from Lucas' space epic.
Review: There have been dozens of novels from the STAR WARS universe;some with flare, some with nothing to offer but space filler on the bookcase. The Black Fleet Crisis however stands alone in a vastly pathetic attempt to join the ranks of fine novels. If following the novels chronologically, the previous novel to the Black Fleet Crisis was The Crystal Star. This was a weak novel by an excellent Star Trek novelist, but the point is, at the end of it, everyone was closer than they had ever been. The Black Fleet Crisis begins with everyone more or less hating each other. Leia is scorned, Han is using un-Han dialogue, Chewbacca is absent, Luke is back to his flimsy Dark Empire persona, and Lando and the droids provide poor plot filler not unlike a Star Trek mission. In other novels, enemies were developed as thinking adversaries. Nil Spaar seems only interested in who he can kill or mate with. Basically, there's no point, a plodding plotline, and nothing that made the Zahn Trilogy or X-Wing novels the popular books they are. Fortunately there are enough good Star Wars stories out there, we can begrudgingly overlook this one.

Summary: Wonderful End to a Fantasic Trilogy!
Review: This book moves quickly, perhaps at times too quickly, as it rushes towards a climax. Unfortunately, the superb character developement seen in the first two books is pretty much sacrificed in favor of action. Unlike Before the Storm and Shield of Lies, the chapters often contain more than one of the three storylines running through the book. This could become annoying and tedious as I feel the author never spends enought time on any of the three. But that's a small complaint. The resolution does not let one down, the book is well written and fast paced and the characters remain true to themselves. Overall a wonderful trilogy, and second only to Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy as my favorite.

Summary: A dazzling end to an amazing trilogy
Review: This book was incredible. It combined some wry humor with a somewhat darker storyline than is to be expected. The whole trilogy, in fact, explores a dark side of Star Wars that is rarely captured in the other books or the movies. It tells you that this is serious, and that makes it seem much more vivid and realistic. This trilogy proves that Star Wars is a verstile concept, and that there can be many different realities to be considered. To put it simply: Read this book, as well as the other two in the trilogy

Summary: Good, But Not Great
Review: This book was, like my one-liner summary, good but not great. The only plot that really interested me was the diplomatic and military angles of the Yevethan conflict. The ruthlessness of the Yevethan Viceroy Nil Spaar and the action the results from the NR Fleet taking on the Yevethan Thrustships is really great. But the "Luke goes off with this girl on a wild goose chase across the parsecs to find his mother" and "Lando and the droids find out all about the vagabond through Lobot's interface" really ticks me off. I mean, what the heck was this guy thinking? I really would've given this book 4 or 5 stars if it were the Yevethan conflict alone, but the Lando and Luke plot crap-o-rama really sucked all the magic out of the SW universe.

Summary: YEEEEESSSSSS it's FINALLY OVER!
Review: This entire trilogy only has one redeeming value: it EVENTUALLY ends. The character development (with the possible exception of Leia) is very poor. The plots are all very poor, and never quite tie in with each other. Lando's plot was particularly infuriating because he never actually does anything. The tactical aspect of the books were the worst depictions of battles in Star Wars I have ever had the displeasure of reading, and most of the time there never even was any fighting. Why is Han taken from the trilogy so early? Why do I care if Luke finds a mother that isn't even his? Why should I plunk down my hard earned money to pay for a book that fits so nicely in a trash can or a bonn fire?

Buy Heir to the Empire or the Jedi Academy trilogy instead. Actually, buy ANYTHING else.

Summary: Stay away
Review: This entire trilogy was terrible! All the characters were done so...I cant even describe it. And what was the deal with that Lando sub plot? Please!

Summary: a good ending
Review: This is a good book and it ends the trilogy in a good way. Though sometimes you may have trouble following the story line, most of the time you'll be right there. You'll be surprised at the way it ends.

Summary: GOOD,GOOD,GOOD!!!!!
Review: This was a good ending to a twisted tale. Nil Spaar got what he deserved in one hyperspace jump. Then leia got Han back and Luke.... Well just read this trilogy worthy of the Star Wars name.

Summary: The worst Star Wars book I have read
Review: To keep this shot. The characters are ALL Wrong, Luke is reduced to a wimp , Lando is stuck in some ship and the plot of that story is meaninless to the rest of the book. Then the big battle that could have been the only good point turned in to the biggest flop of the story.

Stay away
