Summary: an okay trilogy
Review: (first of all, this review is for the trilogy, and not just _tyrant's test_) in general this was an average trilogy, nothing spectacular, but not bad. there was one excellent point in this trilogy, Chewbacca's part of the story. After reading this, Chewbacca seems more human, not so much a big...wookie...and just Han's sidekick. It was nice to see someone explore the character of Chewbacca. But there were two parts of the story I had problems with. One was Luke's part of the story, I mean, how much power does this guy need?! The other major problem i had with the trilogy is all the time spent with characters we don't know, don't want to know, and aren't that important. I think the author could have spent more time developing the plot lines of the characters we know (such as Han's capture or how Leia dealt with it, which really wasn't touched on a whole lot). But they (other than Lando) didn't seem to have a huge role in the trilogy. All in all, if you keep up with the star wars universe, this trilogy is worth the time.

Summary: A disappointing end
Review: After reading the first two books in the trilogy, I was truly expecting something better. The first book was terrible, the second was pretty good, but the third was a little disappointing. The third book failed to fully show a climax; everything just magicly solved itself. If you are going to read this book, then I must tell you to not expect much.

Summary: The best Star Wars continuation yet.
Review: After several attempts at continuing the Star Wars epic adventures, one author has finally succeeded in doing George Lucas' invention justice. The trilogy "The Black Fleet Crisis" strikes many parallels with our own world. The antagonist in this work is Viceroy Nil Spaar. He is the supreme leader of the Yevethan race; a race seeking to not only concquer the entire universe, but to commit genocide and posess all. The author, Michael P. Kube McDowell, brings in the element of governmental affairs, giving the whole situation more credibility. He tries to make a point about democracy as he brings deadlocked disagreement to the suggested foreign policy towards this self-proclaimed super race. The stalement and arguments continue as the Yevetha strengthen their hold around the Republic's governmental core. The adventurous action complements the hidden political issues that McDowell tries to deal with throughout the novel. He makes his point about democracy and our own political policies in this story. I really liked the way that he constructed this book because of all the issues he brought up during it. Many people I talk to laugh when I say that I read Star Wars books. If you haven't read any of them I would definitely recommend this trilogy. Many other Star Wars books are also very well written. These include: "The Courtship of Princess Leia", by Dave Wolverton; "Darksaber", by Kevin J. Anderson. There are also many others that you may find interesting. These books are not only thrilling and action packed, but also show a very similar social structure to ours. These different plots work as a theory and sometimes a prediction of what will become of the human species. Perhaps this may not seem interesting to you, but this trilogy contains three of my favorite books of all time. I strongly suggest this book to both long-time adventurers in the Star Wars universe, and to those who have yet to experience the power of the force

Summary: Incoherent and unambitious
Review: After the first two volumes I was expexcting "le grand finale" Sadly It never came. The climax resolved in an huge anticlimax where the wonderful villain vanished without taking on the entire galaxy... Expecting that all the different ties and side stories would be concluded, and summed up I disappointly found out that I have been spending reading at least 200 pages on a side story without any reference to the main story. What a disaster. I could have been in its on book...

The buildup in the first two volumes is great but it all collapses with the final book. Sadly.

Summary: Tom Clancy of Star Wars
Review: For those of you who enjoyed the cute, childish humor and story of the movies, you WILL hate this book. But for those of you who liked the evil and absolutely marvolous bad guys of the movies mixed with the vivid political theme and the incredible space battles of the movies (mixed with just the right amount of Tom Clancy military science), and topped off with character development that just told the story, not forcing your final view of the characters on you, this will be a most gratifiying experience. I myself have read the trilogy thrice and plan to keep that as my final view of the Star Wars universe.

P.S.- Its late so please excuse the typos.

Summary: This book absolutely ruined my Star Wars exprience.
Review: I am a avid reader of Star Wars novels and I thought this book can not even be compared to novels like the Thrawn or Jedi academy trilogy's. In my opinion, two words descirbe this book...IT S**KS. First of all Lando and the droids are off in some Qella spaceship that reminds me of some cheesy 60's Star Trek show and where the heck is Chewie!. Second, Leia never leaves Coruscant and the senate reminds me a group of screaming brats.Third, Nil Spaar is not even scary, he doesn't even seem sentient compared to some villains like Daala, Thrawn, Exar Kun, or Kueller. And finnaly, Han doesn't seem like regular Han. He doesn't evn have the right dialogue! Also, what the heck is Like doing, he'ss off with some weird woman on some weird planets. If you do read this book it will be like being interrogated by Darth Vader.

Summary: The end of a wonderful trilogy
Review: I don't know why people keep moaning and groaning about this book and the BFC overall. The whole trilogy was awesome and this book was the best. The Battle of N'zoth was great, and so were the Yevetha. The Lando scenes were good too!
