Review: Until this book Imperial Guard stories were my Idea of a cure for insomnia. First and thankfully not only brought me about. This exciting story exposes full characters and leaves you in shock as each is lost. A first for 40k. Abnett's writing is exciting and dense, I found my self wondering how 40 pages of non-stop action could cover battles others could take books to explain. I'm glad there are three more.
