Rating: Summary: A Coffee book table for Star Wars Action Figures!!!!! Review: Oh man, oh man...this is one fine looking little book. A guide to the Star Wars action figure lines from the 70's, 80's, & 90's- all laid out in a simply stylish manner. A great over-view of this famous line of toys, filled with tons of facts and data on the extensive varations of action figures and accesories. Don't order this thinking its a price guide, though. It's just a glorious book that depicts the wonderful Star Wars action figure line in all its wonder.
Rating: Summary: Star Wars: The Action Figure Archive... GREAT BOOK Review: The best part is that this is a REFERENCE BOOK, not a price guide. Thus, it contains tons of TIMELESS information, but no bogus or outdated prices. I recently ordered and read seven price guides and reference books dealing with vintage Star Wars figures (and numerous other collectable figures), and this is by far the best of the bunch. It shows a picture of every vintage figure from numerous angles, it shows numerous figure variations, it shows EVERY card variations for EVERY figure, and it identifies the weapons and accessories that originally came with each figure. It also shows all vintage play sets and mail in promotions (though unfortunately it does not provide quite as much information about these). It also does a nice job covering early POTF figures, and more recent figures from the mid to late 90s. And, EVERYTHING IS IN FULL COLOR ON HIGH QUALITY PAPER! If you're looking for a price guide, this is not the book for you. But, if you are looking for an outstanding reference book dealing with vintage Star Wars action figures, you will not be disappointed with this book. In fact, I actually ordered a second copy for myself in case my first one gets damaged with use!

Rating: Summary: An awesome book with a great design Review: This book is for anyone who LOVES to collect Star Wars figures. The entire book is in full-color, with photos of every card (except the freeze-frames) from the original series through the POTF1-POTF2 series. It would have been great to include the freeze-frame cards, but the authors have included the 1998 update, which includes all the cinema scenes, Expanded Universe, and all figures prior to the Classic/Flashback series. It's a great guide for collectors, and for those people who used to/want to collect. As an added plus, it has a vinyl-like cover so it should last.
Rating: Summary: The ultamate source for a collector! Review: This book is great i found it accurate and useful. It's a great buy and a pretty good read.

Rating: Summary: This book should be on every SW collectors bookshelf. Review: This is great book with very detailed information and fantastic color photos of every SW action figure made from 1977 up to present. It also includes the vehicles and playsets. Especially the very detailed photos of the figures, vehicles and card variations make this an excellent book. This is a great book for the starting collector (like me) as well as the advanced collector. Thumbs up for this one!
Rating: Summary: The BIBLE for Star Wars Toy Collectors! Review: This is the best Star Wars book I've seen that specifically focuses on collectibles such as action figures, playsets, and dolls. It has so much detail on each and every individual figure, including their weapons, accessories, and all the cards they were released on. The separate photos of their weapons are extremely helpful! Every photo is in color and very accurate. The book contains a lot of history and unique information about the movies and their characters. This is definetly a must have for any collector. Check it out!
Rating: Summary: Lavishly produced but too much like an advertisement Review: Visually, this pictorial archive of Kenner Star Wars figures produced 'tween '77 to present, is nothing less than stunning. The photographs and production design are top notch as are most of Sansweet's books. However, the book has the feel of a slick advertisement for Lucasfilms. Just once, I'd like to see an unbiased Star Wars book that contains more than just the same film quotes and synopsi repeated ad nauseam. Let's face it - the guy or girl that purchases this book has ALREADY heard those quotes and blurbs and can probably recite them with biblical accuracy. Rather, the book's lavish photos may have been more enhanced by figure critiques and creation history. What made this or that figure a success? Some figures were emperically sucky. Why? What did Kenner do to correct the problem? What was the process that went into its production? Those are the kinds of things that haven't really been explored in detail in book form. Yes, I realize that Sansweet authored another book that touched on these things but it only skimmed the surface in terms of action figures alone. And there is no truly comprehensive or reliable site on the web that offers up that kind of info. Still and all, this is a damn fine book. Like I said, the photos alone are worth the price. I just wish they'd gone all the way with the text.
