Summary: This book was awesome!
Review: I was hesitant to buy this book, since I had never read book one and am more of a science fiction reader than a fantasy reader. To my surprise, I was delighted by SONG OF THE WANDERER. I thought Cara was a great character, who must deel with her heritage, and the choices her ancestors made and what side they were on, and how it affects her. The book was fast-paced and exciting, and never lagged. Mr. Coville has written a perfect book. Now I can't wait to read book one, INTO THE LAND OF THE UNICORNS, and hope that book three doesn't take too long to come out. But if it's as good as this one was, it will be worth the wait!

Summary: Yahoo!
Review: Wow. I'm really excited about this new book. I've been a fan of Bruce Coville since I was in fourth grade. Over the past five years, my devotion to his works has increased dramatically. Keep up the good work, Mr. C!

Summary: Impressive!
Review: Bruce Coville is such an amazing writer! I've read other unicorn books and I just keep going back to Bruce's books. I have read "Into the Land of the Unicorns" twice and I'm in the middle of it again! I have loved unicorns since I was little. I wish I could rate it ten big stars! I could read it over and over again, it just doesn't get boring, it seems like I'm reading it the first time every time I read it! I really hope to see book twenty of the "Unicorn Chronicles"! I can't wait to get "The Song of the Wanderer"! P.S. Other authors just can't describe a unicorn as good as Bruce does!

Summary: I loved the first book, and am eager to read the second :-)
Review: I read the first book a few years ago, and I loved it. I've been looking since then for the second, and am very pleased it is finally coming out. I'm fifteen now and I am looking forward to it just as eagerly as I was when I was younger. I hope there will be many more after it, and if you haven't read the first yet, please do, because it's worth it. I love fantasy books, and this is a great one.

Summary: Book 1
Review: I read book one when it came out 2-3 years ago. I have been going crazy. I just want to thank Mr. Covil (is that spelled right?) For cont. this series. The first book left me up on top of a ledg and hope the other is as good. I read it in class one day and the teacher took it away. She ended up reading it and loving it. I my self have read it at least 100 times. Thanks again Bruce. A Super Fan

Summary: Just finished the book 10 minutes ago on 6/20/99
Review: About ten minutes ago I finished the book. When I saw that the paperback was coming in 2000, I almost yelled," YIPEE!" I think that I finished reading the book just in time. For those readers who have been waiting for many years, keep waiting! It's coming soon! I am very eager to read the next book.

Summary: HIP HIP HUZZAH!!!!!!
Review: I read INTO THE LAND OF THE UNICORNS to my kids when they were toddlers; now they are 8 and 10 years old! As soon as the new one is released, we'll be rereading the old one first. Even though my kids are both excellent readers, we still have "family" reading every night, including my husband. We will all be looking forward to Book Two eagerly!

Summary: I'm Patiently waiting but don't mind.
Review: I've been waiting for two years to read the next book. I just read some of the reviews and was rather disappointed to see that some people aren't so patient when waiting for an admired book. If you enjoyed the first then it will take time to make the second of equal or better quality. I think the best part has been waiting. Use your imagination and think what crazy plots you can come up with on your own. I'm 16 and still can't find enough fantasy books. I hope never to grow out of my love for them. My thanks to Mr. Coville for taking his readers opinions into so much consideration!

Summary: It's been long enough
Review: I read the first book, Into the Land of the Unicorns, like when I was 8. Now I'm almost 13 and I'm still waiting for the second book. When I came here and found it, I was really happy, except that the paperback edition won't be out until 2000. I don't even remember what the first book's about anymore, since I read it so long ago. Hurry!

Summary: Yes, the book IS finished!
Review: Greetings, everyone!

I have to say that I'm delighted (and a little nervous) that so many of you are so eagerly awaiting SONG OF THE WANDERER. The book IS finished, and will be coming out this November. It tells the story of what happens when Cara goes in search of her grandmother (Ivy Morris, also known as "The Wanderer") and the strange things that happen to her along the way. Most of the characters from the first book are back, and there are some new characters, some human, some not, that I think you will really enjoy too.

I am hoping that the cover will show up here soon, because it is really quite beautiful--though stylistically it looks completely different from the cover for the first book. (So different, in fact, that the publisher commissioned the artist, Rebecca Guay, to do a new cover for Book One, which will be re-released at the same time that this one comes out.)

PLEASE NOTE: I'm afraid some of you are not looking at all the details that our friends at AMAZON provide. The publisher will be bringing this book out in =hardcover= in November of 1999, and in paperback sometime in the fall of the year 2000. Many of you are ordering the paperback edition, which is fine with me. BUT IF YOU WANT THE BOOK THIS FALL (that is, in 1999) THERE IS NO POINT IN ORDERING THE PAPERBACK BECAUSE IT WILL NOT BE OUT UNTIL FALL OF THE YEAR 2000!

(That is a business decision made by the publisher, by the way, and something over which I have no control.)

I really am sorry that this book has taken so long to see print. There were many reasons for the delay, some having to do with the publisher, some coming from my side. I actually turned in the manuscript in spring of 1998, thinking it would be out that fall--and was very surprised (and somewhat dismayed) when I was told it would be fall of '99 instead. However that was not all bad. In the intervening year I did three more drafts of the book (I've done nine in all) and it grew considerably, both in length and in quality. I had the advantage of having a good editor for the story.

The best part, for me, came toward the end, when I found the missing key to the story, something that surprised even me and brought the whole thing together. But let me ask you a favor: If you do review the book here after it comes out, don't spill the secrets! People love to be surprised when they read, and I want them to have a chance to discover what happens for themselves. Thanks.

And thanks for being such faithful readers.

Sincerely,

Bruce Coville
