Rating: Summary: Classic Review: I've read a couple of Battle Tech books, but this has to be the best one yet. It's basically about this warrior named Trent who is a great mechwarrior, but his failure at Tukkayid cursed him for the rest of his life. He is now considered too old to fight and he lost his chance at a bloodname. He claims a bondsman named Judith, and she tries to help Trent regain his honor back by helping leave the Jags and join Comstar. The battles were well detailed and exciting, but most imporatantly of all I actually felt like I could relate to Trent despite him being apart of the clans. Something I can't say for other clan characters in other books, like Falcon Rising. The story and characters combine to form the best Battletech book ever written. Great Job!
Rating: Summary: Michael Stackpole expands the drama of the inner sphere! Review: Once again the house lords of the five great house's find them selves forced together or face extinction by the clans. The under current of tension between Kathern Steiner and her brother tease'es us as to the point of will he ever unveil the true killer of their Mother. Valad of the Wolves shows us that he isn't finished by a long shot. This story shows us that Michal Stackpole is still a master story teller in the Battle Tech unaverse. And has alot to offer us still.
Rating: Summary: Not as believable as his others Review: Pardoe still has the knack of making the battletech reader want to turn the page, but his writing style has changed from his two previous books. The whole story seemed rushed which made it hard to believe. Diehard battletech fans will love the book as it sets up the rest of the "Twilight of the Clans" series that is forthcoming. We will have to see how the rest turn out. It seems that this book was only written to introduce Stackpole's novel, but it a good story nonetheless
Rating: Summary: You Have got to read this Review: The boom exodus was one of the best books i have read. From the opening scene to the vengence at the end that not stop action was amazing. U HAVE TO READ THIS
Rating: Summary: A great book to start with within the many Battletech books! Review: This book is a geat book to start with or to give for agift. An easy book to understand and read.
Rating: Summary: Jaguars are smoking!! Review: This book is a good read for those who enjoy the Clan aspect of Battletech. With the concentration of plots on a stellar scale, its gratifying to find a small compact plot, but one which will have an ultimate effect on the whole picture. I like the way the ending ties in with other books. Trent rules!
Rating: Summary: AWESOME Review: THis book is about a SMOKE jaguar Star captain named trent. After Being disgraced on Tukkayid HE is too old and is past his Prime. The only way to fight again is to leave the Smoke Jaguars for another group by useing connections of his ex-innersphere bondsman I thought this was an awesome book that should have a sequel!
Rating: Summary: Remarkable Rendering of an Alien Culture Review: This book is unusual for providing all the expected action and adventure, but offering more. The protagonist, Trent, goes through a long disillusionment with the Smoke Jaguar clan. The author dramatizes the contrast between the former glory of this clan and its deterioration into mindless cruelty. Trent must find his way free of the Smoke Jaguars, following a personal code of honor. Yes, there's a love story as well. Plenty of blazing lasers for those who love action
Rating: Summary: Exellent, now hooked on seemingly unending series Review: This book was an exellent blast in an otherwise (recently) uneventful BattleTech universe. Who could have predicted that not only would the Inner Sphere be the big threat, But that they would find out the sacred path Kerensky took, and drive a stake right into the heart of the clans
Rating: Summary: Honorless Stravag Freebirth Review: This book was half decent for what it was (a quick tie in explination on how the inner sphere could find the clan home world the writer took some stretches in creating a caracter who would betray the clans. I my self think that the Smoke Jaguars are worthless genetic leftovers but they do have a sence of honor which puts them on mark above Jade Falcons, and that honor is what would cause a Smoke Jaguar in trents situation to possibly join the inner sphere or fight to the death in a circle of equals but never betray his clan to the extent of giving away the Jaguar home world and basicly the general area of the rest of the clans. Trent should be ground under the heel of the nearest Mad Cat or better yet just buried.
