Summary: well-crafted but gory read
Review: If you were a big fan of Clemens's first book in this series, you should definately enjoy this story. However, faint-hearted souls should beware - this installment is MUCH more gory, and contains several scenes of shocking cruelty. I was a little disappointed by this; I know such things have a time and a place in a book, but Clemens seemed to take it a little far this time. Overall, though, the book is every bit as enjoyable and riveting as the first one.

Summary: Excellent! A great second book
Review: In a genre where there are so relatively few great writers James Clemens, if he can be judged on his first two books, looks destined to become one of these "greats". His second book in the series of "The Banned and Banished" is of the same excellent quality as his first, "Wit'ch Fire". In "Wit'ch Storm" he again presents excellent characters that we care about (not all of whom make to the end of the book), an engaging story, lots of twists and turns in the plot, and a number of new characters that enhance the story line (in the process almost giving motherhood a bad name, and I don't ever recall any aunts like aunt Mycelle!) All in all simply an outstanding book! 484 pages are way too short when the story's this good!

Summary: the saga of elena continues
Review: In the second installment of the Banned and the Banished series, we are introduced to more characters, more plot twists and more fantasy novel cliches.

I'm actually thankful that Clemens didn't throw all of these things at us at once. I don't think I would've been able to keep all the characters straight without time to learn their stories and quirks.

The cliches continue to run rampant, but the way Clemens utilizes them makes them seem new and fresh. Although there were points when I was taken out of the novel to reference where that bit came from (Lord of the Rings, anyone?).

But the overall story continues to captivate and keep your attention well enough for these small breaks in the suspension of disbelief to not cause me to put the book down.

This second novel is almost non-stop action and I appreciate that. I like the way Clemens weaves the plot line in with the action so there are no long, drawn-out scenes of exposition where the story is told to you. You discover it along with the characters.

Clemens writing style remains easy to read and engaging. I have high hopes for the rest of the series.

Summary: Very well written!!
Review: James Clemens is a great author! It's been a while since I've read this book, or the other two, for that matter, but I can't wait until the fourth one comes out! I've been waiting for nearly six months, (although I'm sure that's not as long as some people have been waiting!) oops, sorry, this is about the second book, ;) ;) Well, it's an awesome book, although sad, and there are a lot of cliffhangers. It's expected to be a trilogy, when you finish this book, but be warned, it's not! Well, duh, I kind of already gave that away, didn't I? Anyhoo, i definately guarentee this series, because if you haven't read it yet, you've been missing out on something really great! I'm sorry I don't explain what the books are about, but I figure if you want to know, just read it, it's not going to hurt you!

Summary: EXCELLENT NOVEL!
Review: James Clemens is an exceptional writer. Wit'ch Storm just blew me away. The characters are three dimensional, the writing is crisp, clean and cinimatic, and the story itself is relentless. I absolutely love the overall dark nature of the magic and the villians. Mr. Clemens' is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. While I read 1 - 2 books a week, there are only about 3 or 4 authors whose books I'd buy in hardback, or even large paperback format, but Mr.Clemens is worth every cent. If you're looking for other fantastic reads this summer, pick up Subterranean by James Rollins (wink, wink).

Summary: It was purrrrfect
Review: James Clemens' series "The Banned and the Bandished" just keeps getting better! I've read a lot of books, but this guy is the best of fantasy writers that I love! He keeps amazing me, I can not wait til the third book comes out to see what happens to Meric, the elven prince. And answer one question- Will Elena marry Meric or will her brother marry one of Meric's sisters?

Summary: Loved it.
Review: Loved the book but it keeps you on the edge waiting for the next one in the series.

Summary: creatures of fantasy....
Review: My opinion of this book is that it lived up to my expectations for the follow-up to Wit'ch fire & Wit'ch Storm. This series of books is wonderful it gives a perspective of the different characters point of view without overlapping much. The different characters are richly created. It is a book which leaves me wanting that the four book is out already....
