Summary: Beautiful, Saddening, yet joyful in its own.
Review: In this atypical book by Ms. rice, she tells the tale of two half men. Half because they do not have what is necessary to procreate, yet more human in their suffering adn self-torment. Guido, sold into the wold of the castrati opera singers, has a voice that would make the angels cry. fallen at the age of 18 by the tragic loos of his voice, he finds himself searching for another to sing for him. In this he finds Tonio, a boy forced into the world of the castrati by treachery and jealousy. One can easily lose themselves in the story that will make you laugh, cry, and make you sing the praises for this very excellent book.

Summary: "Feast of All Saints": A memorable story.
Review: I fell in love with Anne Rice's work with "Lasher". But nothing grips me more powerfully than this book. I am not much for words, but this is just the finest works she has ever written. It is filled with drama and romance that any reader can ever get in a book. I've read a lot of books in my life and this is one that I will always remember.

Summary: Vintage Anne Rice
Review: I went into this book not knowing what to expect since it was outside of the normal genre of an a.rice book; however, as a I began reading this novel I saw that as with all others, Cry to Heaven is vintage a.rice - that specail combination of mystique, eroticism and melancholy which is her signature.

Summary: A great book about homosexuality.
Review: I've read a few of Anne's novels but this stole my heart. It was recommended to me by a friend whose an Anne Rice's fan. The story was dark but very human... i think we can learn to be more accepting towards the gay and lesbian community. This book opened my eyes to the struggles of the castrati community. An excellent book.

Summary: Still Crying
Review: Because it was an Anne Rice book, I was looking forward to reading it. It was a piece of junk. And this book might as well have been listed in the gay section of ''Barnes and Nobles'' because thewre were times when men made out

Summary: A must read for Anne Rice Fans
Review: This book was incedible, I had to read it cover to cover. I love her vampire novels but this was so differnt. She gave such great detail you felt like you were right there back in time. It was a wonderful escape. This book is a must read for all of Anne's fans. I'm not kidding I was so sad to have it end, I cry for more. I hope to see another book with these charactors I need to know how it turns out for them.......A loyal reader

Summary: Excellent Summer Escape
Review: Ms. Rice takes us backstage in the world of 18th century Italian Opera. Here we meet the "Castrati", the emasculated young actors with the beautiful voices. Their lives and their dreams are breathtakingly described by Ms. Rice, whose attention to detail compellingly transports you to a time and place almost forgotten.

This is an excellent summer book. You may not want the book to end, but luckily, Ms. Rice is a prolific author, who provides her readers with many opportunities to slip into equally exotic realities. If you haven't read Ms. Rice before, this is a very good introduction to her florid style

Summary: The best book I've ever read.
Review: This was the first Anne Rice book I've ever read and I have to say, one of my all-time favorites. This book immediately had me hooked. I was instantly lost in a different time period, place and altogether a different realm that I never knew existed. The characters in this book were so real they were almost tangible. The settings that Anne used were incredible and something I could feel. Her narrative sucked me in and forced me to be a part of the character's life and feel the way he did every second of the book. This book mesmerized and fascinated me. I was completely lost in it. This book was by far one of Anne's best

Summary: Powerful and Engaging
Review: Anne Rice, not only does it again, but this time better than ever. Her engaging storyline takes you to a magical time without the aid (this time) of vampires or ghosts. Her subject matter is so particular, and her research so meticulous, you can see the world she creates. Tonio Treschi is one of the best fleshed out characters I've ever met.
