Rating: Summary: Delivers as promised Review: I can't explain it, but this book really stuck with me. Granted, it's not a life-changing book, but merely what it advertises: a work of hard science fiction. Although that genre set the expectations pretty low, I found this a readable and entertaining book - with a couple of "I coulda done that" heroes that draw you in and take you along with them. The book really works as a great alternate history tale. At the start, it is comparable to Modesitt's "Tangible Ghosts" in that you can tell something is different from our world, but you're not sure what. By the end, these little mysteries are resolved in a greatly entertaining fashion. All in all, I put this book down feeling - very satisfied.

Rating: Summary: A sci-tech adventure loosely based on recent events Review: I enjoyed the fast plot develoment, which made the book easy to get into and the male characters were well-rounded and believable. Having the recent events surrounding the supercollider project as a catalyst for the plot made the novel seem even more plausable. Thats what I really liked about the book. I wish that the antagonist and the female lead had been more fully developed - they just didn't seem to match. I also appreciated the fact that the author told this adventure story without the transcendental sermonizing that I've found in other SF works.
Rating: Summary: Fascinating "Alien encounter" story Review: I found "Einstein's Bridge" really fascinating though I had quite some trouble with the technical details. The plot of the story was well made; I had a hard time putting the book down! My favorite part of the book was the first one; the second one was rather tiring with all the political involvment. But all in all is a great book which is really different from contemporary sci-fi.
Rating: Summary: A fascinating book concerning the possibilities in science. Review: I found this book to be amazingly accurate in physical knowledge of the universe. The book was based on actual possibilites in real-world physics. Although higly objective, these certainly do exist (e.g. the probability of there being an infinite number of parallel universes). If one is interested in physics, specifically quantum and dynamic probabilities, as well as a science fiction theme, read Einstein's Bridge.
Rating: Summary: Breathtaking Review: I haven't read many science fictions, but this one just blew me away. It was so entertaining and was very hard to stop once I started reading. If other science fictions were half as good as this one, I would have read all of them.
Rating: Summary: Superb hard science-fiction book!! Review: I just absolutely enjoyed this book! It is rare to find a book with real science but with also a very entertaining story. Some ideas in the book are very original. I also recommend Twistor and I hope that J. Cramer will publish more novels in a near future!
Rating: Summary: Hard Science - Soft Geography Review: I love it when the "Hard Science" group snubs other forms of science fiction yet they can't even read a map... On page 48 this genius has someone drive directly from Alabama to Louisiana without touching Mississippi... LOL....
Rating: Summary: Great cutting edge science + fiction, but what a dumb ending Review: I must say that for the first 95% of this book, i was very interested. Cramer did a good job of combining the facts of the world of science with a good plot, but then the end! If there was more of a flop possible, i couldn't think of one. I recommend reading it, but be sure and grin and bear the end....
Rating: Summary: Good science AND entertaining. Review: I really enjoyed Twistor, so when I saw another book written by John Cramer I eagerly bought it. It starts out slow, then turns into an action adventure with a touch of romance. It's full of exciting ideas in physics, computers, genetic engineering and time travel. John Cramer is one of the few scientists who can write exciting science fiction. All I can say negative about this book is that it ends just when its getting really exciting! Sequel?
