Summary: "Face The Fire" Is A Wash-Out!
Review: "Face The Fire" is the final book in Nora Roberts' Three Sisters Trilogy, and unfortunately provides a whimper of a finale instead of the expected bang. Her first book, "Dance Upon The Air" is excellent. The second, "Heaven And Earth" is slightly weaker, but well worth reading. This novel, which should have been her strongest, as Mia, her protagonist is the most powerful and interesting of the sister witches, falls into cliche and repetition. It is just plain boring and a big disappointment.Three Sisters is a small, rocky island off the coast of Massachusetts. Legend has it that the island was once a part of the mainland. Back in the late 1600s, during the Salem witch trials, three sisters, good witches all, known as Fire, Earth and Air, conjured the island and made it a haven against persecution. Unfortunately, the sisters did not fare as well as their island. All three were doomed by unfortunate relationships and a misuse of power. Before the last sister died she cast a spell to keep the island safe for 300 years. At that time she prophesied a reunion of three sisters, descendants of the original three, who would join together to redeem their ancestors, right the wrongs of the past and save their home from destruction. Mia Devlin, owner of the successful bookstore-cafe on Three Sisters Island, is a strong sorceress, of the white witch variety. She lost the love of her life, Sam Logan, when he left her without warning or explanation ten years before. Mia has closed herself off from intimacy to avoid the fate that destroyed her ancestress 300 years earlier. Sam returns to the island looking to renew his relationship with Mia and runs into a brick wall. Although the chemistry between the two sizzles, Mia is determined not to let Sam back into her heart. As with her sister witches, Nell and Ripley, Mia must face the dangers of the curse that holds the island hostage. It is up to her to meet and challenge the evil that threatens to destroy her home and loved ones, and to triumph over it if she is to save them all. Unfortunately, Ms. Roberts brings back the same old, now exhausted threads & villains of books one and two, which do nothing to spruce up book three. What a disappointment! Mia and Sam have the potential to be her most interesting characters, but their story gives new meaning to the word "hackneyed." I read the novel to see how everything ends up, having an interest in the characters from books one & two. I should have read an Amazon customer review instead and saved myself the time and money. My advice is to save yours.

Summary: A Good Ending
Review: This was a good ending to a great trilogy. This wasn't my favorite book of the series, but it definitely had it's good points. I don't think this was the greatest book NR has ever written, but it's still a great book to finish out the series. It ties up loose ends, and clears up some of the questions still riding from the other two books in the "Three Sisters Island" Trilogy. All in all, this was still a good novel. It moved quickly and kept my attention.

Review: I have bought all three books of this trilogy and I honestly thought that Face the Fire was the best. I loved the interaction with the two main characters; she was strong and yet seemed believable and he was a perfect match for her. I simply loved the plot and how it progressed.

Review: The third in a trilogy, Face the Fire was disappointingly slow and uninteresting. I would read it to complete the trilogy, but I do not recommend it as one of Roberts' great pieces.

Review: Face the Fire, third in the Three Sisters Trilogy, was intriguing and enchanting, but I would have to say that it was my least favorite of the three. Heaven and Earth is my favorite followed by Dance Upon the Air. I felt that Mia, the heroine of Face the Fire, didn't extactly maintain her character as it was laid out in the first two books. But I was only a little disapointed...I'm being nit-picky here. Nora Roberts makes sure she really know's what she's writting about and makes it believable to her readers. I'd like to see more books like this that involve magic in this way.

Review: I'd like to live in the world they live in, see the things that they see and be the best of friends with these dynamic women and their amazing men. Nora is one of the best, and this book is simply a continuation of her fantastic ability to weave a tale that stays in your heart.

Summary: A great conclusion to this great triology
Review: This is the third book in the 3 sisters island triology and tells the story of white witch Mia. She is a powerful witch and owner of a bookstore, who has had her heart broken by Sam Logan many years ago. Sam left the island but he is now back to win Mia back. Mia has closed herself off to love since Sam's leaving and he must convince her to love again. Admist this is the supernatural story of 3 witches (mia,ripley and nell) who are fighting a demon in human form. This story is not your typical love story- there is no doubt of Sam's love for Mia or of her love for him. Rather, it is the struggle of Sam to get Mia to accept his love and trust in him and in them as a couple. Also nicely woven in, is the subplot of the 3 witches and their power and fight. I definately recommend reading the other 2 novels preceding this-it helps get the full background and inter relationships. This is a great book- nora roberts writes with passion, character depth and intricacy. A sure winner!

Summary: Simply Spellbinding
Review: Nora Roberts is a witch of words. Her magickal fiction selections are simply the best. If you like a little magic, or paranormal mixed in with a lot of love and laughter, the three sister's trillogy is the set for you. All three books are a must read but there was something compelling about Mia that I couldn't wait for her story to be told. I was not disapointed. Sugcessful business woman, wiccan by birth, and by choice Mia can not find a man to replace the young man who moved away and broke her heart. It is years latter now and Sam is back, can Mia trust again ? Can they work together to save their home ? Can they find what they had before ? You will laugh and you will be delighted, you will curse and you will cry. This series is a well done as the "Donavon Legacy". Way to GO MRS Roberts !!

Summary: Disappointed
Review: Although the first book in the series was excellent, I was semi-disappointed with the second book and very disappointed with the third. Sam and Mia's story was typical and expected. There was not anything new introduced in the book and the magic just became a little old. The romance was almost cookie-cutter romance style with a guy getting the girl ending. Plus at the final showdown why do we have a sheriff wielding a gun and a geek with a gieger counter? Please, Nora you are a better writer than that. Don't get me wrong I love Nora Roberts. I think she has written a great many wonderful books but I also think that if you want to read an exceptional novel by her you almost need to go back a few years and pick up one of her old ones. The suspence is interesting and on the edge of your seat and the romance and the characters have depth.

Summary: A worthy read
Review: First let me note that I don't believe this book deserves quite four stars, but three seemed like marking it a little low.
While this book was not Robert's best it has an unmistakable charm to it. This is the last book in a trilogy, and if you haven't read the others yet, you should as they will give more insight to this book. Mia Devlin's world is shaken up when her high school love Sam returns to the island. His return forces Mia to make decisions which may affect the lives of everyone on the island and most certainly hers and Sam's. The story has a good plot but does seem to be somewhat flat. Certain things were not explained satisfactorily and that caused the tempo of the story to speed up and slow down in a manner that was somewhat distracting. Definetly not a book to stimulate thinking but excellent for a soft summer day on the beach or a cozy winter night by the fire.
