Summary: A great book!
Review: Elf Queen's Quest is truly one of the best books ever written. Mr. Stanek has made fantasy epics that actually make you part of the world and part of the characters. The Ruin Mist series as a whole is the best reading that I have ever laid hands on. All of you people that think otherwise can go do whatever you want but there is only one thing that could be done better, make more books! Thank you, Mr. Stanek!

Summary: Brilliant twist on the original
Review: Elf Queen's Quest has everything a fantasy lover wants. I picked it up after reading Stanek's Keeper Martin's Tale. The books are so good I've convinced everyone I work with to give it a read. It is about Vilmos, who has a dark gift, elves returned from the West, and Adrina, sad, lonely and heartbroekn. These three characters are driven together by fate. A terrible change is sweeping their world and each has some part it in. Encounters with shark-like beasts in the open ocean, the Krin, wolf-beasts with multiple heads, the wolmerelle, and other dark beasties.

Summary: Worth it...
Review: As anyone can tell from the high praise of other reviewers this is a great book. I'm was becoming disappointed with the genre until I found this gem. This book doesn't have all powerful rulers and villians who want to rule the world. It is an intricate weaving of characters, plots and world. There is political and palace intrigue as well as a fascinating story. It's great that the plot twists are really twists and unexpected. A great thing about Stanek's writing are the characters. No one dimensional characters here. No pure evil or pure good. I think anyone who can't find the joy in reading this book doesn't know what a good book is.

Summary: Beginnings of grand story
Review: I was hooked from the first. Stanek is a good writer with unforgettable characters, an intricate plot, and detailed world to keep readers interested and wanting more. This series is a favorite, but the story isn't for everyone. You have to have a good imagination. Although this book was slow at times, it got me into the other books, and I definitely recommended that anyone read this book or one of the others.

Summary: Solid 4 stars, maybe 5 depending on your view!
Review: I must say I have been disappointed by some of the recent reviews of this book. My son introduced me to this series and I have to agree with him. It is about time someone created a fantastic world that you can visit and enjoy without having to wade through so many long-winded scenes. I love JRR Tolkien and some of the other fantasy masters but I don't want to know the name of every flower and tree the characters pass. I'd rather do without the excruciating level of detail we've become accustomed to lately. That's why this series is so refreshing. What's not to like???? The plot has many, many layers. The characters are richly envisioned and diverse. The world Robert Stanek creates is remarkable. MRC

Summary: Surpisingly good
Review: I really enjoyed the book. It just caught my attention and I just couldn't put it down! Robert Stanek creates a world filled with good detail and suspense that fantasy lovers will enjoy. He truly has a talent for building an epic storyline and keeping the reader interested. If you want hack and slash or sword and sorcery, this may not be for you. It does have magic and mystery a plenty! It is a fast-paced read, with lots to enjoy. But not long winded or heavy on detail. I like that as I think Robert Jordan and GRR Martin tend to have WAY too much detail so its nice for a change of pace to find a quick, easy, fun read.

Summary: Ruin Mist: Elf Queen's Quest (Ruin Mist Chronicles Series)
Review: Mr Stanek desperately needs a good editor; the number of
literary mistakes of one sort or another is amazing!
An interesting story seriously marred by passages of seriously
cliched language, bad grammar, wrong usage, etc.
Hard to believe he could get this stuff published.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Another load of crud
Review: Worse than the first one? Possibly. This is simply a rehash of the first awful book in this series, Keeper Martin's tale. The other reviewer talked of professional editing... If he means edited by the dude at Kinko's, maybe. Actually the dude at Kinko's would've most likely done a better job. Forget the staggering plot and shallow, uninteresting characters. The challenge of this book is just to read through the awful diction, grammatical errors, run-on and fragmented sentences. To compare this series to real authors like Tolkien and Martin is nothing short of sacrilege. Shame. DO NOT buy this overhyped junk!

Summary: Just fantastic
Review: Elf Queen's Quest is a great fantasy epic. Stanek's writing style is direct, concise and clear. The backstory is vast, like the world he created. Stanek keeps his readers focused and entertained throughout the entire storyline. Powerful imagery and detail make the story become vibrant and alive. Anyone who has read the Lord of the Rings or who is just interested in reading fantasy novels will enjoy this series immensely. If there was a rating that succeeded five stars, I would certainly give it to this book.

Summary: This is by far one of the most enthralling series
Review: Ruin Mist Chronicles is something out of the ordinary. Instead of good against evil like most fantasy it lets you try to figure out who you should trust and who you shouldn't. It has two paths through the reading. One called light and one called dark. This is the first dark chronicle. If you want to really get deep into it you have to read both paths.

It is a story of powerful families, kings, commoners, men and elves and beasts. The two main families are: the ruling family of Great Kingdom and the ruling family of Vostok. It begins with a series of strange events and before you know it everyone has dispersed off in different directions. You also can't forget Seth, the leader of the Elven Brotherhood. He and his companions immediately enter into a bloody conflict as they seek to reach the realms of men. Above and beyond all, hinted at is a coming darkness. With all the betrayal and treachyer, history, this book promises good things to come and provides an endless source of entertainment!

After reading the first two books I poured through the companion guide to figure out a lot of things that were hinted at. In this book I really liked the insight into the background of Xith and Midori, the mysterious tutor/former princess who aids Vilmos. I went back and read both books again. I'm so ready for Kingdom Alliance. In my thought, this is the most inventive fantasy series in many years.
