Summary: Stays with the story
Review: I enjoyed this book, but not as good as the first one in the series, I love how she was able to join the Predator tribe but dousn't fit in and she's better than everybody and there trying to kill her. other than the book's good action sequences this book just dousn't compare to the first one.

Summary: AVP
Review: In "Prey," what people fail to realize is that all if the ideas for that book was taken directly from the best selling comic book series - the only difference? Lots of text. Mr. Perry is a great writer, but his daughter ISN'T. She writes EVERYTHING from a female point of view in her books (most notably Prey and the Resident Evil series) making men out to be drunken rapists, ect. I'm not a fan of that sort of writing, being a male, and I recommend buying the comic books if you want a nice read.

In "Hunter's Planet" this book gives Machiko Naguchi more of a hard edge, giving the character more attitude and strength. That's the Machiko Naguchi Dark Horse comics want - not the silly loveable girl we've seen in Prey. The writer does an excellent job with the Predators, giving more depth and understanding to their race, as well as the Aliens. This book has an original storyline, with characters good enough for a major motion picture. I HIGHLY recommend Hunter's Planet for a good read! You won't be able to put this one down!

*WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILER* One person who wrote a review, was maddened by the fact that Naguchi couldn't defeat her nemesis, another Predator by herself - instead, the Android assisted her. Where's the problem? It would be almost impossible for anyone to beat up a Predator in hand to hand combat, and if Dutch couldn't do it, a small Japanese woman isn't going to either! C'mon people lets be realistic about this!

Summary: Go read 'AvP: War'
Review: This book is mediocre, at best. Sure, it's got some action, and yes, it's an AvP book (for which it gets points), but other than that, go read 'AvP: War' by S.D. Perry. Weak plot and underdeveloped characters don't help HP out much.

Summary: Good author, bad storyline
Review: Now don't get me wrong, the book was pretty good. It had a decent storyline. But here's my problems with it:

1. It just starts here off back in humanity with a few brief flashbacks to her days as a predator.

2. In the fight with Shorty, she wins only with the help of the android. This is the moment all of her flashbacks and memories with the predators have been building up to. She should've won against Shorty by herself, not with some lame secret helper.

3. My biggest problem: It doesn't fit into the storyline of the Aliens Vs. Predator books. S. D. Perry wrote "Prey" and "War". "War" came out after this novel, but I tend to think the author of the original novel would be correct with his storyline. Why do I say that it doesn't fit? Shorty dies in BOTH this novel and "War". "War" supposedly takes place before this one. How does Shorty die twice? It seems almost as if the author of this book didn't collaborate with the authors of the first when writing a sequel. Therefore, when the actual sequel came out, the storyline of the entire series just falls apart.

Summary: Ok...
Review: It was ok, shows a bit Predator, and more storyline than the prequel(AvP: Prey). However, there is also less action in this one.

Summary: Did I miss something??
Review: I was a little confused at the beginning of this novel about how she was back with humanity. It seemed as though I missed something. Later on it explains but it still seems as if this book came to early in the series. I liked it overall but it is not the best it could be. The whole android thing was cool but the ending was horrible. I suggest a read only to fans of the series cause if your not a fan you won't become one reading this book.

Summary: Not as good as it could be.
Review: Aliens vs. Predator: Prey was a really unexpectedly good novel. Unfortunately, Hunter's Planet doesn't uphold those standards. The writing's not bad, nor is the plot especially horrible; the problem, as in Bischoff's other Aliens novel, is in the pacing and structure of the book.

The book starts off fairly enough, with some cool Predator action, and then Machiko's flashbacks on her years with the predators. (The flashback is the only part of the book based on a comic, where as all the other books in this line are basically just adaptations of comics.) Then, before we get any more interesting action, we get over a hundred pages of Machiko and Til sleuthing around trying to figure out what's going on, with every once in a while a scene from a Predator's point of view.

Then, at the big battle scene in the end, it was basically summed up as follows:

The predators and the aliens slugged it out. Machiko stayed behind and marveled at how deadly they all were. It looked like the aliens were winning, but then the predators started winning.

The battle was from an outside perspective and therefore was pretty boring. The characters didn't really have anything going for them, and there were too many questions left unanswered -- who was that company Til was talking about that sent him, stuff like that.

Overall, this is a fairly uninteresting and boring novel that, while being part of the series, doesn't really have any impact on anything. While it is worth reading if you have the time and money, if you don't you're not really missing any good action, inventive characters, or innovative situations. A mediocre bit of sci-fi.

Summary: Qiute Enjoyable
Review: Now I know everyone else that has reviewed this book will probably freak at me for saying this, but I did actually quite enjoy this book. Mind you, I enjoy just about anything to do with the 'yautja', so just read it as a starter, because things can only get better

Summary: Don't waste your time.
Review: Having read AVP-Prey I was looking forward to learning more about the Predators society and customs in this novel. What I got was a weak plot, weak characters, and no useful information. I got so disgusted at times I wanted to throw the book in the trash. I would have had I had something else to read.

Review: The only thing about AVP:Hunters Planet that is better than AVP:Prey is the cover illustration.
