Rating: Summary: Your wife is a big hippo! Review: Simply put, this is the be all, end all of Pratchett books. It is God. I worship it. Reading this book has become a religious experience for me, and... am I scaring you? Be not scared, for I jest. Mostly. I have, however, memorized many of the funnier bits over the course of an estimated seven readings, and it literally only gets better. How can someone not like this book? Small Gods is too dry, but this... this is gold.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious!! Review: A favorite of mine. Having read many Discworld novels, I must say this is one of Pratchett's best. I often laughed out loud, and I recommend this book to anyone looking for "interesting times."
Rating: Summary: Very, very, very funny. Review: I love all of Terry Pratchett's books, but I think the Luggage is one of his funniest creations ever. I've done a lot of travelling, and the Luggage is not as surreal as you think ...
Rating: Summary: interesting!!! Review: You should live in interesting times:You will when you read this books. It is one of Pratchetts'best!!!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: great reading material!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: My (so far) favorite Discworld book Review: If you've read any Discworld books, you already know what to expect, and if you haven't...well, they're funny. Very funny. Despite the temptations caused by many of the Discworld books being out of print in the States, don't read this before The Light Fantastic. If you do (like I did) it just won't be nearly as good. By the way, does anybody have any idea what the cover (the Harper Prism one with the chaos butterfly on it) is supposed to mean? I've read the book 3 or 4 times and I still don't understand the phrase, "not tested on animals--you'll be the first."
Rating: Summary: Make Considerable Sacrifice For The Common Good Review: This is probably the most readable book in the Discworld series. It fouses on Rincewind the failed wizard's attempts to escape from Hunghung, capital of the Agatean Empire. Fans of the series should be delighted, as the book contains Dibbler (Dhblah?), the wizards of the UU and Death in minor but significant roles. On his way, Rincewind meets Cohen the Barbarian's Silver Horde, the cream (or cheese) of barbarian fighters, who have been avoiding death all their lives (it's all they've ever done). Aargh!, potatoes and the mythical room 3B occur throughout, as well as the extremely polite Hunghung "rebels" who think that putting up posters constitutes a revolution. Funny, witty, infinetly detailed and endlessly re-readable, Interesting Times is a classic.
Rating: Summary: This one is up there with the best of DW Review: A great story! With an interesting plot that makes you think of human nature and some great humor thrown in this is a winner for me! (Read Small Gods too!)
Rating: Summary: Quick! Extra boiling oil! Review: This book is extremely hilarious. Rincewind, who is the only known wizard to have gotten a negative matk in basic firemaking, is one of the funniest characters Terry Pratchett has ever created. This book is great for anyone who wants to eat a foot, listen to Mr. Purple Cat think 'Hello', or has a strong desire for boiling oil.
Rating: Summary: One of the funniest [complex pictogram] book I've ever read! Review: I discovered Discworld and Terry Pratchett through the RPG supplement that JUST shipped, GURPS Discworld (track down Steve Jackson Games' website fro more on THAT) I grabbed this book off the shelf... and could not put it down! Excellent work, both funny and gipping. I would have liked to have seen more of the luggage, but, ah well. There's always his OTHER books! :)
