Rating: Summary: Reality in an Imaginary World Review: My review is about four children that entered into a bizarre world. Their names are Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy. The thing that is so bizarre about this world is because it has mystical creatures, strange looking animals and people and a White Witch. In the beginning, Lucy the youngest, walks right into a wardrobe, and there she finds another world filled with odd things. At first no one believes her until they all walk in. There they all get seperated and meet interesting creatures... I decided to read this book a long time ago because I had it since the Fourth grade and didn't read it ever since then. I use to still remember how amazed I was after reading it especially the animals in it. At the time it was one of my favorite books, unlikely it still is one of them. I would truly recommend this book to any open young minded reader. To me personally, my favorite part was when the kids defeated the White Witch and came running out of the closet. Well, that's because the children can look back at what they all went through and learned a little something more about each other. This shows how much they have learned throughout this wild experience.
Rating: Summary: Must Have Review: To all of the people that have read this book before, I would highly recommend this edition. Most people would agree that this is a very good story and it most likely takes them back to their childhood. When I first saw this edition, I knew that I had to have it. It reminded me of some of the best books that I had read as a child. From the opening of the cover to the last page, I was awestruck by the illustrations. They are great. There are very few books for this age group that have the quality that this book has. It is just beautiful. I look forward to the day that I can share this book with my children.
Rating: Summary: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe Review: This book is about four children that gets sent to a professer's house because of the air raids going on in their home. The four children's names are Peter, Lucy, Susan, and Edmund. First Lucy finds inside the wardrobe a whole different world. Nobody believes her, then one day they go into the wardrobe and found out that she was telling the truth. If you read the book you will then find out what will happen to them. I chose this book because it was a very fascinating book. I was intimidated by it. Once i started reading it i couldn't stop until a midpoint. I couldn't wait to find out what happened the next day. It was such a good book. My favorite part was when the White Witch killed Aslan, the lion. Lucy and Susan were there to watch it. They were very sad, and they cried until they could cry no more. They tried to take off the muzzle that the Witch put on and it worked. Little mice came and they thought the mice were going to eat Aslan, but the mice were chewing away the knots that tied Aslan together. Aslan disappeard and apparently the witch did not know about some of the magic and Aslan became alive again.
Rating: Summary: CD Review: I read the whole series as a child and LOVED it. But I bought the CD to "reread" it and I enjoyed it even more. I heard things that I had not read before. Listening made this book come alive as never before. I highly recommend it!!! Wonderful for both children and adults alike...
Rating: Summary: you should read The lion the witch and the wardsrobe Review: Yes I found my hiding spot. Susan wont find me know. Oh no she found me. So I walked into the other world I found earlier. I walked to find Mr. Tumnus. Then I came back and they didnt believe me that me Lucy and Edmund my brother went to another world. I don't think it is right that you don't believe your second older sister than your youngest brother. Edmund, Susan, and peter don't believe Lucy goes into a different world through the wardrobe. " Lucy says she seen a guy named Mr. Tumnus and they had some hot cocoa together and they talked to each other about the witch." " Lucy said he took her to were she could get out of the world back into her own world." " Then he took of said Lucy." Edmund, Susan, Peter, and Lucy moved with a guy during the war. They went to his house by train. They went to his door and said hi. Lucy looked at him weird. She thought he looked funny so she stared at him. Edmund, Susan, and Peter just walked inside his house. Susan, Edmund, Lucy, and Peter went into the wardrobe to the other world. Peter said it was cold out here lets go get a coat from the wardrobe. Lucy said no because they aren't there's. They went back anyways and got a coat. It was to long for Peter and for everyone else. They all started walking and seen what happened to Mr. Tumnus's house. Lucy picked a paper up from the ground. She found it out to be from the police to Mr. Tumnus. Edmund, Lucy, Peter, and Susan met a beaver. They ate with the beaver and his wife. Lucy and Susan helped cook dinner. Edmund and Peter helped the beaver they met catch fish. Edmund took off without telling anybody. Lucy, Susan, Peter, Mr. Beaver, and Mrs. Beaver
Rating: Summary: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe Review: I started to read this book because the cover looked interesting. It is a picture of a faun hloding boxes in the snow with an umberella. This book is about four children named Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy going inside a wardrobe and finding a secret new world. They had adventurous times looking at sights, meeting new friends, and becoming kings and queens of Narnia. They also helped their faun friend defeat the wicked White Witch so their friends who lived in Narnia and Cair Paravel would live in peace. This book was excitng because it was their first trip to a different world. The characters in the book are Susan, Edmund, Peter, Lucy, Aslan the lion, the wicked white witch, Mr. Beaver, and Mr. Tumnus. All of them are the four children's friends except the White witch. They all helped destroy the White witch because they were all kind and friendly. That;s is how she got destroyed. Since she makes snow and their loving and caring melted the snow into Spring. My favorite part of the story is when Lucy is the first one to discover the new world and she got to meet new things and had a exciting trip. Her brothers and sister don't believe her until they go inside the wardrobe too.
Rating: Summary: A Children's Classic that an adult can still appreciate Review: Years after having read the book as a child, I still enjoy reading C.S. Lewis' clever tale about four children stumbling into an enchanted world, hidden behind the mysterious wardrobe-portal in a musty old mansion. The light reading is also distinguished by subtle humor in places, as well as thoughtful images and allegories that point to Christianity. Altogether the book is a marvelous blend of fantastic mythical creatures and imagery, with a little heroism tossed in.
Rating: Summary: Strange Creatures and Places Review: This book has several good points but also many disappointing parts. This book has interesting mythical creatures. The book is about four kids (Peter, Lucy, Susan, and Edmund) in London. The story takes place in the country in a wardrobe. An evil witch is taking over Narnia. (The country in the Wardrobe.) Here are several reasons I liked the book and several reasons I disliked the book. First, here are is what I liked about this book. The country, Narnia, was described in an easy to understand way. The characters personalities made you want to keep on reading. The methodic creatures and animals talking also dragged me in. Although the book has several grabbing sections, it also has some bad sections. The amount of characters caused confusion in who was talking. The book is pretty long and action doesn't start until the end. With a Lion and a Witch in the title there isn't much action. The book ends the same way it began with talk of catching a stag. C.S. Lewis went in-depth in detailing some parts. He also cuts into the story right before something interesting is about to happen. If you don't mind an odd ending, little action, and hearing what the author has to say about some things, "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe'' is the book for you. If you don't like reading through all of those circumstances, I doubt you'll get far in this book.
Rating: Summary: A Walk Through The Wardrobe Review: If you like adventures and mysterious books then "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is the book for you! It is filled with detail and conversation. In the book a girl named Lucy and her brothers and sister move to London with a Professor. Lucy finds a secret wardrobe in an empty bedroom. It is not any old wardrobe. Inside there are not just coats hanging, inside is a secret country called Narnia. In Narnia there are magical creatures such as unicorns and little elves, but not all the creatures are nice. Some are on the White Witches side even some trees are on the White Witches side. The White Witch always wants it to be winter never Christmas or a different season Then a miracle happens! Will it still be winter? Will all the creatures stay on her side? Read the book to find out the rest!
Rating: Summary: The Lion,The Witch and ,The Wardrobe Review: The book I read was "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe". It is a book that you might need to read more than one time to understand it. This book has a good storyline, but it has too much detail. There are lots of boring conversations in it. The setting is a little awkward because it has a lot of strange creatures living in it. This book has a lot of made up characters in it, so I would only recommend this book to people who like to read fairytales.
