Rating: Summary: Captivating fantasy Review: Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy enter the magical land of Narnia through a an old wardrobe. They experience the evil white witch, talking fawns, and enchanted forests. The four children, called daughters of Eve and sons of Adam, are predestined to help Narnia escape the curse of the evil white witch. Aslan, a lion and lord of Narnia, guides the children through their quest and eventually offers himself as a sacrifice to the cruel witch for Narnia's freedom. This series, The Chronicles of Narnia is a must read for all ages! Lewis is a master at description!
Rating: Summary: Pure Brilliance for people of all ages. Review: A young girl of ten finally recieves a copy of a book her mum had read her over and over again for years, once again she sits down to become enchanted by tales of naiads and dryads, talking animals, witches and wolves, good and evil. The book is The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. A tale of 4 children entering a Wardrobe and moving into a magical land called Narnia. This story never fails to excite you no matter how many times you've read it and remains one of that ten year olds favourite stories even though she is now 18. Lewis captivates his audience with fear, hope, happiness and joy, with the arrival of Aslan, the end of winter is near, but will they make it through the Battles with the White Witch?
Rating: Summary: The First Book About Narnia Review: This book is the first in the Chronicles of Narnia, one of the most stunning and enchanting book series ever written. It tells the tale of the Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy, and their travels in Narnia. Narnia is an enchanted land, filled with dwarves and fauns and centaurs, among other creatures. This is a completely delightful book, and has a deeper meaning than what appears. Aslan the Lion, king of beasts, serves as a type of Jesus. For example, in this book, Aslan sacrifices himself to save another, just as Christ did. Aslan brings life to the dead, as Christ did. C. S. Lewis's riveting tale about Narnia is one of the most spectacular books ever written.
Rating: Summary: Pure child fantasy at its best. Review: A wardrobe in an ancient house is the passage way from Earth as we know it to Narnia, a land of unicorns, fauns, witches, and lions. It's a Utopian land where Lucy, Susan, Edmund and Peter will reign as mighty Queens and Kings someday. Only the White Witch's Winter Spell may prevent them from fulfilling their ultimate destinies. Lewis' imagination is incomparable as he leads the reader into a secret world of magic.
Rating: Summary: I liked it but... Review: I liked it alot. I think it was a good book and I am starting to read the whole series. The only thing that I thought was bad is that it was like all other stories always ends in happiness. Nothing very bad happenes. Though alot of stories do in a way have something bad happen like someone giving up there life for something and then coming back. I would like it (in some books) if one of the charators that die stayed dead. But that is not true in all books so don't get me wronge.
Rating: Summary: Magical, mellifluous and memorable. Review: The "Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe" is the reason I became a passionate reader. It was the first book to capture me completely, to revisit my mind again and again. C.S. Lewis speaks to us so simply and so beautifully, it seems his young imagination never grew up...never complicated the simple truths of life and nature. The main characters of this book; Edmund, Lucy, Peter and Susan, still reside vividly in my imagination. And Aslan is bright and golden, the way I imagined him when I first read this book - more than 20 years ago. Share this book with a child you know. Better yet, read it to them.
Rating: Summary: This is a great Christian fairy tale Review: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is one great book. After Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy just arrived at the magical place called "Narnia", I couldn't place this book down. Except when I sleep of course. In a brief summary, this book is about two Daughters of Eve and two Sons of Adam enter Narnia. They're objective is to save the faun, Mr. Tumnus. Along their journey, they team up with talking and strange creatures from talking beavers to centaurs. Finally, they meet with the King of the Woods, Aslan and fight Jadis, the White Witch (a.k.a Queen of Narnia). Overall, this is one great Christian fairy tale. If you're looking for an action-packed book with mystical magic taken place, then this book,"The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis, is the perfect book for you. But don't trust me for my opinion.
Rating: Summary: The Lion Rocks! (and so do the Beavers) Review: Pure classic. This book is a story that every child should read. Probably the most famous of the 6 books. In Narnia, anything can happen. Expect both the possible and impossible. A land of unicorns, centaurs, and talking Beavers. I recently did an hig school performance of this story for elementary schools. It was the most fun I ever had. I was Mr. Beaver. If you would like information about this play contact me.
Rating: Summary: Overwhelming! Review: I don't know how anyone could not like this book! This is the best book I've ever read! Who knew a book about 4 children finding a wardrobe could be so exciting?!! All I can say is this book is on the top of the charts for me.
Rating: Summary: You should read this book! Review: This book is just....WOW! You should read "The Magian's Nephew" because it gives clues to who the professor is!
