Summary: THE ONLY BOOK I READ
Review: As a child, I used to rent the cartoon movie version almost every week, having no idea it was a book. My second grade teacher read the book to the class, so happy that I was hearing the story, knowing everything that was going to happen and loving every minute of it. Now that I have graduated high school, this story not only entertains me but has sentamental value as well. It reminds me of my childhood. I collect different copies of the book and was so glad that they made a full color edition. The illustrations are wonderful. I must have read this story hundreds of times and it never gets boring. I reccomend this book to everybody.

Summary: A Timeless Classic
Review: If you liked King Fortis the Brave or the Harry Potter books, you will love The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Rich in imagination, it details a quest, not unlike the one in King Fortis, to restore order to a magical kingdom that is both different and at the same time reflective of our own. You will not be able to read this book without picking up the rest of the Chronicles of Narnia.

Summary: The Wardrobe is Grrreat!
Review: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is the book for you if you like adventure. The four main characters are:Lucy, Peter, Susan, and Edmund. I really liked this book, and I usually don't like reading. If you read this book and like it, there are 6 more books in the series. Each one is different, but all are great.

Summary: The Lion the Whitch and the Wardrobe
Review: ...The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is the best book I ever read! I like it because you never know what's going to happen next. This action packed adventure/fantasy book is great in any spare time. Once you start you will never stop. In the book an evil witch wants to take over Narnia. But the good lion refuses to surrender along with Peter, Susan, Edmond and Lucey. This book taught me to never give up and be as smart as you can be. I recommend this book to people who love Fantacy

Summary: Book 1 in The Chronicles of Narnia
Review: When four English siblings (Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy) are sent to the country to avoid the air raids in London, they find a secret passageway in a wardrobe that leads them to an imaginary land called Narnia. Here the four young children meet a few interesting characters: Tumnus the Faun, a half-goat/half-man that befriends Lucy when she's lost; the Beaver family who help the children elude the White Witch and her dangerous allies; and, lastly, the White Witch herself, who has laid claim over Narnia with her year-round winter spell and her self-proclaimed title: "Queen of Narnia". She is also the one who lures Edmund to her side with endless supplies of Turkish Delight and subtle hints of him becoming King.

During their adventures, the four children ultimately meet Aslan, the rightful king of Narnia who has returned, at last, to reclaim his land from the evil queen. Together they--along with the help of several other mystical beings--aim to defeat the White Witch and return Narnia to its original state and ownership.

After reading "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", you'll definitely want to read the following books in this series: "Prince Caspian" (#2), "The Voyage of the 'Dawn Treader'" (#3), "The Silver Chair" (#4), "The Horse and His Boy" (#5), "The Magician's Nephew" (#6), and "The Last Battle" (#7). Although "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is geared for children age 8 to 12, I consider it appropriate for all ages and encourage everyone to read it.

I received the entire Narnia collection from one of my aunts when I was a kid, either for my birthday or some other holiday--I don't remember. Anyway, this book/series has been one of my all-time favorites ever since. It's a wonderful fantasy meant for children, but will inspire adults as well. Highly recommended. It also makes a wonderful gift. ;)

There are some Christian undertones in this book, such as the terms "Daughter of Eve" and "Son of Adam" for humans in Narnia, as well as Aslan's sacrifice for Edmund; however, I don't really regard The Chronicles of Narnia as a religious series. You can expect a wholesome story, but not to worry--it isn't preachy or overly self-righteous.

Several years after it was published, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" was made into a TV series in the late 60s, which I never saw because I wasn't born yet. Plus it only aired in the UK. About ten years later, in 1979 (the year I was born), a cartoon movie was made, but I didn't see that one either. The only movie I vaguely recall watching was the 1988 movie starring Richard Dempsey, Sophie Cook, Jonathan R. Scott, and Sophie Wilcox. I remember that even then I wasn't too impressed with it, not as much as I was with the book.

So, for those who love children's fantasies, or are just C. S. Lewis fans, then I highly recommend this book and series. It's well worth your time.

Summary: The fiction lover's book of the decade
Review: This fiction book is so delightful and exciting that it should be the only fiction book ever made. Wonder why you should read this book? Well, because if your the person, that I'm sure you are, who has nothing to do every second of his or her life and thinks that a fantasy fariy tale is a very foolish thing even for a four year old. Now your going to wish you never thought that, 'cause the old hit from the adventures of Narnia is once more entering the new breathtaking realm of fantasy!

Summary: The wonderful world of Narnia
Review: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, is a wonderful fantasy book for children around late elementary school, on through adults. It can be enjoyed by all through imagination, and it wisks the reader away from the everyday toubles of the world, into an imaginary land called Narnia. The story follows the lives of three children in England at the time of WWII, who have been sent away to live with a friend of the family, and elderly man. The children find there way, through the threshold of a wardrobe, into the land of Narnia, a land with it's own mystical problems.
The children learn how to solve problems, in a world filled with extrmems of good and evil, and through their journey in Narnia, they mature, and are perpetually touched by the lives of the character in Narnia, and the difficult situations they have faced.
This book teaches wonderful life long lessons that transend from the wardrobe, Narnia, into the real world. Maturity, and the ability to work within a given situation are all present themes in this book. Along with friendship, good vs evil, the power of sacrifice, making decisions, and allowing forgivness of others, eventhough they may have hurt you in one way or another.
I feel as though this book is a valuable resource for children and adulta alike, as well as an enjoyable reading experience. I hope that schools, and parents continue to use it in their curriculum, and in their households ot keep the power of imagination alieve, and ever present in a child's life, through adulthood.

Summary: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
Review: This book is a fantasy book facing the problem of whether Narnia really exists. I think the people who would like this book are those who like fantasy books because The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is a great fantasy book. The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is sad, fun, descriptive, active, and has the best characters out of all the books I have read.

Summary: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
Review: This personally was not my favorite book. I never really got into the whole story and I didn't like how they practically didn't care about going back. I also didn't like all of the battles. Some people who might like this book and the rest of The Cronicals of Narnia are people who are into battles and mythical stories.

Summary: Great for children
Review: I recieved the entire Narnia series as a gift when I was eight. Over the next five years, I must have read the series at least ten times. I thought they were the greatest books ever written. This winter, I found my old copy of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe in the attic and decided to spend one evening rereading it. It was a bit of a let down; this book doesn't have as much crossover appeal to adults a some other children's fantasy series, such as the Harry Potter books, but I still recommend it.

The story, of course, involves four children named Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy who wander through a magic wardrobe and into the land of Narnia, inhabited by talking animals and other magical creatures. They end up taking part in the battle between the lion Aslan (representing Christ) and the evil queen. A great deal of the book is spent describing landscapes and settings, as well as meals, clothing, etc... I suppose that children might enjoy that sort of thing, but I found it growing tedious after awhile. I was also a bit disappointed by the role of Susan. She seems to be included only to call for help from her brother when she's in danger - not the sort of role model I would want for my daughter. Other than that, the story is quite well written, and includes many appropriate lessons about repentance, forgiveness, and courage.
