Rating: Summary: READ THESE BOOKS!!!! Review: I first happened on Melanie Rawn books about 10 years ago, attracted to the covers of course. I have not put them down since. I've searched far and wide for everything with her name on it. I've even started an eGroup for her.Her characters and plots are incomparible, her sense of humour is fantastic. I've caught myself laughing out loud and bawling my head off when reading her books. You can actually picture the characters in your mind, become them, and feel their emotions, she explains them so well. If you read no other book in your life, read this one...I have...about 10 times! Happy reading Dallas Dale
Rating: Summary: Best Fantasy Series EVER! Review: Have read the series probably 10 times now and love it. It is so original, textured, complex and interesting. Love the characters and the world. Hope she writes more in the series.
Rating: Summary: So amazingly good!!! Review: These books are so good! I'm commenting on all the books in the Dragon Prince and Dragon Star series. I love the characters, I love the world, i love every part of the books. I actually cried when Sorin, Jahnavi, Maeta, Rohan, and everyone else died. The characters were all so personal, it was like I was actually losing people i know. I applaud Melanie Rawn. She's one of the best fantasy writers in the world.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put the book down! Review: If I could I would have given this book 10 stars. IT is awsome. I loved it. Everyone of the characters has deffinate personality, and Ms. Rawn did a masterfull work to make them all come together. If you have not read this book- you absolutly HAVE TO! I am not kidding, it's awsome! I have reread this book 5 times, and I still can't put it down when I read it!
Rating: Summary: If you didn't like it.. you didn't actually read it Review: Dragon Prince was the best book until the next one and then the next... etc The plot is what every writer tries to accomplish. This book has everything already. If you don't like fantasy that much, you can start loving it If you think everything about it is bad.. well maybe you should read Dr. Seuss so that you can catch up on your english languages skills. If you think there's no plot... review what you think a plot is. If you think that it's predictable Then maybe you should pick up the next book. If you think this book is not worth your money... then I don't know which world you live in.. Any of Melanie Rawn's books is awesome, but it's much easier to start at the beginning, or else you'll be really confused....:)
Rating: Summary: Thank you, Ms. Rawn! Review: These books are among my favorites. They are so unbelievably good. What is good is that we, the readers, never know what exactly will happen. I never would have guessed who would die and whatnot. The only "complaint" I have, and I mean the only, is the ending to this wonderful saga. At least let Sionell and Pol get together! If there was any way that there could be another book written somehow to bend that ending, I would be so incredibly happy. Once again, Ms. Rawn, thank you SO much for such inspiring books. Goddess blessings! :)
Rating: Summary: The Final 1/3 was good enough for me to try the 2nd Review: After reading all the glowing prase found here i must say i was disapointed in this first book. I found the characters a little disapointing.. They follow the typical good guys (with no bad side) vs evil man typical of fantasy. After reading George R. R. Martin's "Game of Thrones" typical fantisy characters just wont do any more. The maen character "Rohan" suffers the worst. Jesus had a bigger dark side then this guy. However enough colour in the characters at the end was included for me to check out the next book in the series. Maybe Rawn has improved with time. The plot suffers at the beginning since the Rawn tells us from the first chapter that the hero (rohan) and heroen will marry. There is no suspence.. it would have been much more interesting to give the daughters Pandsala and Ianthe a real chance of winning Rohans hand. Tell us how its all going to turn out from the first chapters takes away any suspence. give Rohan a little colour.. at least have him look at other girls.. have Ianthe and Pandsala as real rivals.. dont let the reader know who is really going to win his hart. Give a little goodness to the characters of Ianthe and Roelstra. No one is totaly good or totaly bad... keep us in suspence.. through the whole first 1/2 all Rohan does is say she is pretty but Sioned is better. Still like i mentioned before.. the finnal 1/3 of the book picked up enough (Pandsala's story for one.. she is the most interesting character of the book IMO) for me to start on the second one.
Rating: Summary: Dragon Prince Series is a good book. Review: I like reading the Dragon Prince series. It's not as bad as some commented earlier but it was not as "excellent" as others thought. The series doesn't deal with just one hero. I've noticed that many sci/fantasy books deals with one hero that saves the whole world or a group. Each having a specialty that save their race or the world. I like the way Rawn doesn't make just one hero.
Rating: Summary: A complicated, fast reading novel. Review: Wonderfully imaginative. This novel has a bit for all people. Even people who don't normally read fantasy. Melanie Rawn has written a masterpiece.
Rating: Summary: Thanks for all your thoughtful comments Review: I just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to comment on DRAGON PRINCE and my other novels. Writers work in a vacuum: just you and the computer. So feedback is a treasured thing--even the slightly-less-than-complimentary remarks. Honest!
