Summary: First-rate Fantasy!
Review: I picked up this book when it first came out on the strength of Michael Whelan's cover, but I thoroughly enjoyed it on it's own merits. It ranks in my personal top 5.

Having a B.A. in English Literature, I demand a lot of the books I read: Dragon Prince exceeded my high standards. The characters were compelling, the plot well crafted, the world was unique, and the relationships between characters drove the story. A final testamony: I introduced my future fiance to fantasy with this book as a birthday present, and it hooked her too.

Summary: Rawn's first novel and best to date.
Review: This is the novel that launched Rawn's career. An instantly engrossing book about a prince's coming of age in a land fragmented by politics. Excellent character development within a well-constructed world. This book merits a permanent place on any fantasy lover's bookshelf! Unfortunately, subsequent books in this series become bogged down by frequent character turnover, and an annoying obsession with defining "justice," which is not well handled. Only Skybowl (Dragon Star #3) approaches Dragon Prince in enjoyability.

Summary: The best I've read in years....
Review: Okay. My friends said: "Try this book!" I, of course, I had my doubts. But, I bought the book anyway. It sat on my shelf for about two months before I ever read it. As it turned out, it was fabulous.

This book mixed the perfect amount of romance and fantasy\action\adventure to make it near perfect. Anne McCaffrey endorses the series, and that was enough for me, really. The end was very good, and the action between Rohan and the High Prince was ver good. The romance between Sioned and Rohan moved me like nothing else.

So, this book deserves about one thousand stars. But since I can't, it gets 5. I cannot wait until the next book...indeed, Rawn's whole series!!!

Summary: The best book ever!
Review: I have read this book over and over again and I love it more every time. The book is like a web of intrigue and magic and is utterly unputdownable. A must for every Fantasy Book Lover.

Summary: best book i've ever...or likely ever...to read in my life
Review: Great book...very complex charaters and world. I found it hard to put down. This is the type of book which ruins all other books from then on...it's so good that no other book can ever compare to it. I've read hundreds of fantasy books so I should know. I highly recommend it to you. The rest of the series is only a hairs width less interesting than this one.

Summary: Strikingly similar plot-line to Dune
Review: Although I enjoyed this book quite a bit, I saw a huge number of similarities between it and Frank Herbert's classic, Dune. - Rohan and Paul Atreides both lose their father. - Both Rohan and Paul take woman as their true loves that do not bring them political advantage, but use "real" princesses to further their goals. - Both stories focus on life in the desert with the dragons being very similar to the sand worms (both are the "monsters" of the desert), and both being the source of immeasurable wealth. In both stories the "monsters" aid the hero in the final battle against the antagonist. - Paul duels the Emperor in Dune, Rohan duels the High Prince. Even with all the similarities, I will still be purchasing the next book in the trilogy, as I did enjoy it quite a bit.

Summary: This book is great, and I should know!
Review: I say that I should know because I've read a bazillion fantasy novels. This one is great because of it's great, three dimensional characters, great plot and setting. Even the slow parts are intresting! I'd have to say this is one of my favorite series ever, along side The Wheel of Time and Sword of Shannara. Yay!

Summary: Into the moonlight...
Review: This book was the greatest novel ever published! I should know, because I have read hundreds of science fiction/fantasy books in my life. And few could compare with this one. This book keeps you on your toes, and grabs your attention with it's blend of personalities. From the beginning, the ever changing storyline puts you right there, living it out right along with them. You find yourself gasping in shock at several scenes, sighing in admiration and envy at the romance, and filling with anger towards the villian. This book is a wonderous read and I recommend it to any soul who loves a hero.

Summary: This is one of my favorite books of all time!
Review: An absolute 10! I can't even believe there are people out there who don't like this book. The fantasy world that Ms.Rawn creates is beyond belief; an original and refreshing outlook on the classic themes of magic, dragons, and intrigue. When you buy this book make sure you have plenty of time in your schedule because you won't be able to put it down.

Summary: Not your average fantasy
Review: It didn't have as much action as I would have liked but the plot was above average, altough predictable. The creation of the world was way above average. Very believable characters and creatures. Overall worth the read.
