Summary: P.C.CAST is the greatest
Review: Superb fantasy adventure, congratulations to Ms. Cast on an excellent book definetly a must read. I'm not just saying this becuase I'm her cousin - Thanks for the signed copy. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Summary: A Great Time Travel Success
Review: When I was first asked to read this book, I thought a human goddess with a centaur was not usually my thing. However, it turned out that this particular love match (human female with the male centaur) was a shapeshifter (the centaur, not the human) and I could deal with that. Ms. Cast did an excellent job in writing this novel and I highly recommend it. There wasn't a page that I didn't find something amusing or downright funny. I also appreciated that the "goddess" was a high school English teacher and pulled some of my favorite songs/stories out of her head (Loch Lomond, The Highwayman, etc.) to tell stories to her "new" class of people. The dark side with the vampiric creatures was captivating for me (being a Brian Lumley fan).

Summary: I think I'll read it twice...
Review: I bought this book after reading some of the other reviews about it, and I'm glad I did! I don't usually like books written in the first person viewpoint, but this is one of the rare exceptions. The main character, Shannon, has such a unique, sassy, I'm-right-there-with-you-girlfriend type of voice that I was hooked in spite of myself. It's kind of like listening to your best friend tell you about The Adventure of a lifetime (except that this one takes place on another world.) You're amused, concerned, horrified, jealous, and so entertained that you could sit and listen all night.

P.C. Cast is particularly good at showing how the other characters are feeling even though we're always inside Shannon Parker's viewpoint. It's especially fun to watch ClanFintan (her centaur husband) through her eyes. Being a Sagittarius, I'm partial to centaurs anyway, but ClanFintan is HOT! He's a great blend of macho and romantic, and the perfect foil for the bold and earthy Shannon.

The villians give me the creeps, just like they're supposed to. I like the bad guys in a story to be believable, and these "Fomorian things" are definitely that. (Shudder, yech!)

By all means, try this book. It's a delightful read and it'll make you smile--you can't go wrong on this one.

Summary: More fun and love then the age of time can destroy!
Review: Goddess by Mistake is an irreverant tour de force that is guarenteed to satisfy the most discriminating fantasy/paranormal/romance junkie. It has it all, Vampires, sexy studly Centaurs, beautiful people but most of all, a witty, nay downright funny heroine who rises to the occassion when she is yanked into a vortext where her graphic, sexy dreams don^t compare to her new reality. Shannon Parker a high school English teacher looking forward to summer vacation finds herself thrust into the role of reluctant Goddess Incarnate in a land as dangerous as it is breathtaking only to find that she is just in time to marry ClanFintan a sexy Centuar Shaman. Can this 20th century Oklahoma girl handle the demands of Goddessdom and save the people from a spreading evil. Read it and see, it does not disappoint.

Summary: One HECK of a GREAT BOOK!
Review: How many of us have purchased a book purely on instinct? There was something about this book that sung to me as I saw it here on Amazon so I plunged in head first and got the book. I was NOT disappointed. I'm a fan of Diana Gabaldon, Marsha Canham, Dara Joy and Karen Marie Moning. If you like their works, then you're absolutely going to love THIS one!

The heroine is both charming, divine (pardon the pun) funny and yes, you'll cheer for her! Her life is turned topsy turvey and you'll not only symphathize for her, you'll empathize as well. Seeing everyday aspects of yourself in the book. I can't tell you how many times I got myself nodding, agreeing with a comment her heroine makes.

The book is not overly passionate and yet, is it. You'll fall in love with our love stuck couple and you'll feel the pain as well.

My biggest disappointment was that is was over too soon with so much more of the tale to tell, but P.C. Cast is just setting us up for the next book which I wait for with baited breath.

You'll not be disappointed in reading this book, it's a keeper and one of the few in my library which I will read again.

Summary: I Want More P.C. Cast!
Review: Goddess By Mistake is a great book. Hilarious, full of suspense, and definitely too short a story! Can't wait for P.C.'s next book (and the one after that and after that.....!) A big thanks the Amazon.com for recommending this book when I purchased the Diana Gabaldon series. A recommended change from the predictable historical romances. A WINNER!

Summary: Not by Mistake at all!
Review: This book was recommended to me by the author herself because of my review on LKH's Kiss of Shadows and boy am I glad she did. I LOVE this book. At first I didn't think I would like it as much as Kiss of Shadows...I was quickly mistaken. I am fairly new to the fantasy genre but I think I am hooked. The plot was well thought out. The events flowed nicely and consistently. The detail was phenomenal. I LOVE the touch of modern day in a mystical time. I don't think I will ever look at centaurs the same...or better yet...I think I will look at them more. LOL I am not much for the mushy romance like those books with Fabio on the front. Those just seem unreal. P.C.'s mixtures of romance, horror, humor, suspense, fantasy, and the tinge of teasing ... was perfect. I can NOT wait for Goddess by Choice...which I hope she is working on now. LOL Once I find an author I like, I can't get enough. Thank you SO much for suggesting this book to me. I will definitely pass the word along and keep my eyes open for the sequel. Definitely DO NOT skip out on this one.

Summary: Goddess by Mistake
Review: Wonderful, delightful book. I could not put it down. I work in an office with law enforcement officers. Everytime I would laugh or smirk they would just look up with question marks on their faces. Some of the characters were pretty close to some of my co-workers. Regardless to say my book is pretty worn out now from my girlfriends reading it. Great lead character, can't wait for the sequel.

Summary: Ancient Goddess with a modern voice
Review: Goddess by Mistake is so refreshingly witty and captivating. It's nice to see a writer who gives the female character both the strength of a woman of today but still allowing her to be vulnerable without becoming a "door mat". PC Cast does an outstanding job of voicing the thoughts many of us think but never dare say we're thinking, (except of course to our best girlfriends). I am not normally a science fiction reader and my opinion of this book is that it crosses over to mainstream romance and fiction effortlessly. I can't wait for her follow-up.

Summary: Oh, my goddess!
Review: Wonderful! A great mix of myth, magic, mystery, and romance. If you like the wit and sarcasm of Anita Blake (Laurell K. Hamilton), the magic of David Eddings, and the imagination of Anne McCaffrey, P.C. Cast should be added to your bookshelf. Her main character, Shannon/Rhea has spunk, guts, and an admirable love of good red wine and horses (esp. centaurs). The dialoge flowed, the story was fast paced, and best of all, although the plot had the familiar 'Beauty and the Beast' theme, Cast doesn't fall back on the usual conventions. It was literally laugh out loud funny in parts (and I was laughing in Home Depot, of all places, trying to buy drywall). I couldn't put the book down long enough to finish shopping!
