Rating: Summary: Buy it, Read It, Promote it! One of the best I've read. Review: I am 25 yrs old and I work in a bookstore. I read _all_ kinds of fiction in the SF/Fant genre, from Primer level all the way up to british imports and 10 book series' with page ranges of 600 and up! I have read MANY kinds of books also. I picked up Jedi Apprentice for my 12 yr old brother, originally, knowing that I would read it eventually, since I _LOVE_ Star Wars Stories. My brother, who prefers to read comics and listen to Novels on Tape rather than reading them, had the opportunity to read them on a trip the family was taking, once we actually got him to settle down and start, we couldn't PRY them out of his hands! As soon as he finished the first book, he began telling me that I _HAD_ to read them, I would absolutely LOVE 'em and he wouldn't leave me alone until I sigh aggitatedly, put my current novel aside and began reading it... And you couldn't PRY that book out of my hand until I was DONE. Neither my brother nor I could wait until the next set came out! We were throwing ideas at each other it was fun! A few nights later, I decided that the books were just TOO Good. My father reads many of my books and has read ALL of my SW books, where I still have a few to go. He told me that he needed a new book soon, so I gave him the two Jedi Apprentice books. My father is in his 50's and HE enjoyed them almost as much as my brother and I did. My point here is that I totally agree with "A reader from Houston, Texas , June 18, 1999 Not Just For Children!" earlier in the list! This book should be mandatory reading, but not just for Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon Jin fans, but for anyone who loves reading about Jedi in general! I hope that eventually these books will be compiled into one story so that those too intimidated by it being a "CHILDREN'S BOOK" will have a chance to read the stories as well.
Rating: Summary: This book is awesome! Review: I've read this book and so does the other 3! I've collected Jedi Apprentice's books so far and I think all of 'em are cool. It is a great intro on Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. In case you wanna know, I'm 17. I know that this book is for kids around 9-12 years of age but I can't resist it. This book is soooo awesome and I recomend it to all Sar Wars fans!
Rating: Summary: terrific Review: I enjoyed this book throughly! Simply excellent. But I don't think there was a need for anyone to get SO mad at Qui-Gon. You know he'll except Obi-Wan sooner or later, so lay off! I thought Obi-Wan's nickname was funny, and that Dave Wolverton put some good thought into it.
Rating: Summary: Great introduction! Review: My younger brother got this book from his book order and as soon as I knew he had it, I grabbed it. I didn't put the book down the whole night and read it straight through! I am really intreged with the content and plot. The start of the relationship at the end gives a great insight to what the rest of the series may be like. I didn't know how much I liked Star Wars until I read this. I reccomend it to ANYBODY as you'll probably read in every other review. Once you start reading it, you won't put it down!
Rating: Summary: If you are a Star Wars fan you should read this book! Review: The book Star Wars is about Obi-Wan Kenobi training to be a Jedi.He starts training in the Temple and tries to work his way up to be picked as Qui-Gon's new Padawan.Qiu-Gon is looking for a new one because his last Padawan ,Xantos moved away from him.Now he is testing Obi-Wan to see if he is worthy of being his Padawan. When Qui-Gon first came to the Temple to see if he find a new Padawan,he saw Obi-Wan fighting. He was not using the force in his fight,he was fighting with anger so he decided not to pick a new Padawan.Qui-Gon did not know though that Obi-Wan was going on the same mission as he was to Bandomeer. For his training over in the Temple and he was too old,so he would have to move out.To find out what happens on Obi-Wan's and Qui-Gon's mission read the book ,Star Wars The Rising Force.I recommend this book to everyone because it is an awesome book and has lots of adventure in it!Once you start this book I guarantee you won't put it down.If you get a chance to read this book, you should take advatidge of it.After you're done with this book you can read the sequels like The Dark Rival and The Hidden Past.
Rating: Summary: Can I give it 100 stars? This is EXCELLENT! Review: This book is so intriguing, from the lightsaber duel with Bruck in the beginning to fighting off the Draigons at the end. And how can you forget Obi-Wan fighting off the Hutts? Overall, this book exceeded my expectations, which makes me want to give it over 5 stars! If you love Star Wars, you will love this!
Rating: Summary: WORDS FAIL ME!!!!!! TOO GOOD!!!!!! Review: I could not put this book down! I love the way Obi-Wan Kenobi realizes that even though he might not become a Jedi he can still help in other ways. And what Qui-Gon Jinn tells him. "I'm not testing you. Life tests you!" Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Clat'Ha, Si Treemba, Yoda, and even Jemba make this book what it is. And if you like The Rising Force (if you don't you're crazy!) you'll love The Dark Rival and The Hidden Past. I haven't read The Mark of the Crown and The Defenders of the Dead, but you can bet I will! The Jedi Apprentice will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire way!
