Summary: The Adventure Begins!!
Review: This is the first book in the series, It is one of my favorites because it starts the whole series off! It's great book that you really should read! I very much reckomend it, but there are 11 others and all are better that the last! I have a friend who hasn't read them, and I think that it's nice to have it all explained! So, first of all, I would sugjust starting here! #1. Obi-Wan Kenobi age 12 wishes to become a Jedi before he is 13 (which is the 'rule' in the Temple) his last chance is Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. But Qui-Gon has already 'ruined' his old apprentice Xanatoes. He will not train Obi-Wan. But when they get stuck on a ship together Qui-Gon begins to see the difference in Obi-Wan! #2. Obi-Wan still wishes for a Master, but now he thinks there is no way. On the planet Bandomeer as a farmer, with only a week till his birthday, Qui-Gon will never pick him. Suddenly something happens to get Qui-Gon's attention, Obi-Wan is kidnapped! #3. Obi-Wan is finally apprenticed to Qui-Gon, this books starts out on his 13th birthday. Almost instantly things start happening, Qui-Gon gives Obi-Wan a strange birthday gift, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan get tricked onto a different planet were they begin to help the suffering people there and yet again Obi-Wan finds himself in a treachorous predicament! #4. More of a mystery, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan reach there origanally planned destination, the planet Gala. Were there are elections going on for a new govener. Obi-Wan is left behind while Qui-Gon goes of to find a rumored princess. Obi-Wan has to solve the mystery of why the Queen is so sick. Can he do it? #5. To save a Jedi Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan travel to a planet to rescue a Jedi named Tahl. The planet has been in a civil war longer than anyone can remember. At first the difficulty is getting Tahl, then a new conflict arises, they meet a group of children fighting for peace and Obi-Wan begins to doubt his comitment to the Jedi. #6. Obi-Wan has left the Jedi to help the Young, the children on the waring planet. They must fight for the peace even when the most devestating thing happens. Meanwhile, Qui-Gon, Tahl and a Jedi student, Bant are trying to solve there own mystery, who is the intruder in the Jedi Temple? #7. Obi-Wan returns to the Temple after bringing peace to the planet at war. Qui-Gon is still trying to discover the intruder. When they find out who it is the question is can they stop him? Along the way Obi-Wan wishes again to have Qui-Gon as a Master, but will Qui-Gon ever take him back? #8. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon chase Xanatoes to his home planet, were there self oppointed mission is to bring him out of hiding and bring him to justis, but suddenly they find, that Xanatoes isn't hiding, and the people of Telos adore him. Now the Conflict has become more worse then ever! #9. Obi-Wan is yet again Qui-Gon's apprentice. They are traveling with two other Jedi, Adi Gallia and her apprentice Siri who hates Obi-Wan's leaving and now does not trust him. But when they reach a planet stricken with blindness to the truth. They have to fight together to bring out the trut. #10. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon travel to a planet where the Royal children are always traded around between two planets at an early age and traded back to be kings and queens when there older. But a sudden problem arises...One heir does not wish to go back, could this mean war?! #11. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are back to Corasant, while there Obi-Wan is introduced to a strange friend of Qui-Gon's who turns out to have a presuer, an evil bounty hunter who will stop it nothing to kill him. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan try to stop her, but it is no good, and in they end they become her enimies as well! Well, that is the entire Jedi Apprentice series! So far. I think it is my favorite series ever! I very VERY much reckomend this book, and I strongly sugjest you read the WHOLE series!

Summary: An excellent book! A must-read!
Review: The Rising Force is the first book in the Jedi Apprentice series, and the series couldn't have had a better start! Once I read the first one, I HAD to read more! (I've only read the first 3 so far, and they're all BRILLIANT! I can't wait to read #4!) These books are supposed to be for a younger audience, but I'm fourteen and still LOVE them! This book tells how twelve-year old Obi-Wan Kenobi desperately wants to become a Jedi. His only hope lies in the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. Unfortunately for Obi-Wan, his inability to control his anger keeps Qui-Gon from selecting him as his Padawan. Obi-Wan is sent to the planet of Bandomeer to work for the Agri-Corps. As fate would have it, Qui-Gon is also sent there. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan share adventures together on the way there, but will it be enough to convince Qui-Gon that Obi-Wan is worthy to be his apprentice?

Summary: Interesting, but not the best.
Review: While this book is kind of boring compared to some books I've read, it was good in some ways. For example, it wasn't very fast-paced, but it did set the stage for the rest of the series, which ROCKED! If you are going to read the series, which is good, you have to read this one first. It may be a little slow, but the series is worth it! And it isn't that bad, no matter what I say. I loved it till I read the rest of the series, so you probably will to. And I'm 15, and I still like it, so don't listen to the that 12 and under stuff. This explains a lot of things I didn't understand, and gave me a better picture of Qui-Gon of Obi-Wan's personality. It's a pretty good book. It should be read by every Star Wars or Obi-Wan Kenobi fan.

Summary: A great book, but could have been better
Review: In general, this was a really great book. While I didn't find it as gripping and well written as some other children's Star Wars series I've read,it was still a very good book. The series itself is about Obi-Wan Kenobi when he was a young boy and how his training started. One thing that bothered me was their that if a kid wasn't chosen by a master by age thirteen they don't get to train. Jedi potential is rare, why would they would just waste it like that? Shouldn't all the kids at the temple get a chance to train? If they didn't have jedi potential why would they be there in the first place? And why is 13 considered to old to begin training? Luke Skywalker didn't even start his training until he was 18+, and he still seemed to reach his full potential. Oh well, maybe I'm missing something. I also greatly enjoyed the character of Clat'Ha and Obi-Wan's arconan friend. This book also had great action scenes as well as well developed characters. I would recamend this book! to anyone who likes Star Wars, though children 12 and under would probobly enjoy it best. Other good Star Wars books for kids are Junior Jedi Knights and Young Jedi Knights.

Summary: Not the best of the series, but good
Review: This was a one of the better books in the Jedi Apprentice series. It shows lots of Obi-Wan's thoughts and how he works. You can pass on this book if that is what your heart desires, but people who want to really get into the Jedi Apprentice's, should definetly read this one. It has minimal action, but plenty of suspense you keep you reading.

Summary: - See how the whole Star Wars series began -
Review: "May the force be with you" - Youthful readers will be immediately intrigued as they read the first book in a series of science fiction/fantasy books written as a prelude to the Star Wars movie phenomenon. Wolverton has created well-developed characters which youngsters will find appealing and compelling. The book follows the adventures of Obi Wan, a 12-year-old future Jedi hero, when he was learning the ways of the force, a life-altering power. Although the setting of distant planets and space travel are paramount to the plot, the actual locales are secondary elements and are not vividly described. Unlike many science fiction action books for children, the plot is not stilted and predictable. Timeless themes such as good vs. evil, friendship, honor, and perseverance, which pervade the Star Wars movies, remain strong mainstays in this book. Young people will enjoy vicariously living the adventures of a young man going against great odds and believing in his own abilities to rescue others and make a positive difference in his world. The writing style, although rather simplistic, is well-suited to its target audience. Teens and pre-teens, particularly boys, ages 10-14, who enjoy the Star Wars movies, will find this book exciting and inspiring. This is a riveting series of books for even reluctant readers.

Summary: The Force is a puzzle.
Review: This book follows a time long before Episode One when Obi-Wan Kenobi first meets Qui-Gon Jinn more than an acquaintance. Both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Qui-Gon Jinn come from separate worlds at the cost of their integrity. Qui-Gon has mixed feelings about the words of the most respected Yoda -- Annoyance at his persistence, and uncomfortable thoughts about their similar missions. There are many themes to this book but the one that stood out to me the most is that the Force is a puzzle - separate, the pieces mean nothing, yet they fit together in perfect formation tightly. Obi-Wan Kenobi feels helpless and floats at the hem of Qui-Gon Jinn, while Qui-Gon Jinn seems to be going through a midlife crisis.

Great action - good story -- all in all a great Star Wars Fan book.
