Summary: Best book in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I just have to say this book is great. Now I've always been a sci fi junkie, but I don't know, this is just one great book (( and so is the second book in the Jedi Apprentice series, which is all I've read so far)). I like knowing what has happened to Obi-Wan Kenobi. I've tried to read other books about Star Wars like this one and the second, but these are the best! I just have to say this book is great. Now I've always been a sci fi junkie, but I don't know, this is just one great book (( and so is the second book in the Jedi Apprentice series, which is all I've read so far)). I like knowing what has happened to Obi-Wan Kenobi. I've tryed to read other books about Star Wars like this one and the second, but these are the best! It was fun reading about Obi-Wan when he's only 12 years old and still learning the ways of the Force! It's interesting finding out more about Qui-Gon Jinn. It was nice to read about the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, now we know what the Jedi's went through to earn thier title!

Summary: A good, young-reader's level look at Obi-Wan's youth
Review: Well, I'll proudly admit that at the ripe old age of 22 I went ahead and bought and read this book, and its sequel. I was simply flipping through all of the Episode I related items in a local bookstore, and I saw these. I've not always been a huge fan of the monster, bookproducing engine the StarWars universe has become, but I was very impressed by the characterization of Obi-Wan Kenobi in Episode I, and I have a new-found respect for the character and his ideals. So, even though these books were written for a considerably younger age group, I went ahead and bought them anyways. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but I got far more. The books have fairly decent and engaging story-lines, and most of the writing for the characters is, IMO, right on. I would have liked to see more of Obi-Wan's origins explained, but maybe we'll get that in a later book. I see it's not coming out until August of 99, which is mildly annoying--we're allowed to have the first two immeidately, and then we have to wait for three months? Argh! In any case. I would recommend these to any Star Wars fan who's interested in learning more about the Jedi.

Summary: The force is with this book
Review: This is the best book I've read in a while. It was so good I just couldn't put it down. Before I knew it, it was dinnertime. Through dinner I read it. I read both this book and the next in the series in 3 hours. It was really good and had the good ol' jedi feeling. Ya know what I mean? I just loved this book. The author put so much feeling into it, as if you were Qui-Gon or Obi-Wan. The force is with this book.

Summary: COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I think its interesting on how the old ways of the jedi are so differant from the Kevin J.Anderson series, and the way the Obi-Wan has to find some one to teach him or he will be sent of to be on some farming planet to study plant life instead of batteling some space pirets. Any way I think this book rocks!!!!!!! and you would be missing out if you diddnt read it.

Summary: A great read aloud!
Review: This book isn't just for kids! I read it aloud to my husband during a car trip and we both really enjoyed it. It takes about 2 hours to read aloud and it reads very smoothly. Fun for the whole family.

Summary: This book was the best Jedi book I have ever read.
Review: I loved this book! I have read the Young Jedi Knights series and the Junior Jedi Knights series, but they don't even compare to this Jedi series. I love reading about Obi-Wan trying to get Qui-Gon Jinn to take him on as a Padawan Apprentice. If you've read and enjoyed the series about Jacen and Jaina or Anakin then you need to start this series soon!!!

Summary: Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic
Review: Do not overlook this book!

I purchased this a couple of days ago, and didn't get to see it until nearly every other person in the house, ages 10-adult had finished reading it. People would hang around the person reading it, waiting to snatch it up. So when it finally got around to me, I asked myself as I started, Was it worth it?

It was! It happens when Obi-wan was twelve years old, just leaving the Jedi training academy. He and Qui-Jonn are traveling together to a mining planet, and are faced with conflicts from EVERY side. Great, multi-facited action--don't miss it!

Summary: - See how the whole Star Wars series began -
Review: "May the force be with you" - Youthful readers will be immediately intrigued as they read the first book in a series of science fiction/fantasy books written as a prelude to the Star Wars movie phenomenon. Wolverton has created well-developed characters which youngsters will find appealing and compelling. The book follows the adventures of Obi Wan, a 12-year-old future Jedi hero, when he was learning the ways of the force, a life-altering power. Although the setting of distant planets and space travel are paramount to the plot, the actual locales are secondary elements and are not vividly described. Unlike many science fiction action books for children, the plot is not stilted and predictable. Timeless themes such as good vs. evil, friendship, honor, and perseverance, which pervade the Star Wars movies, remain strong mainstays in this book. Young people will enjoy vicariously living the adventures of a young man going against great odds and believing in his own abilities to rescue others and make a positive difference in his world. The writing style, although rather simplistic, is well-suited to its target audience. Teens and pre-teens, particularly boys, ages 10-14, who enjoy the Star Wars movies, will find this book exciting and inspiring. This is a riveting series of books for even reluctant readers.
