Rating: Summary: The name says all: First few pages, and it's got you trapped Review: This is the first book I read (last year), the first of the 26 that I have bought and read. One night I was desperate for something to read, and I found this. I hadn't even considered it before, because the thickness intimidated me. Boy, did I get that book wrong. Page 4 and I was hooked. I wouldn't have put it down except for the fact that it was midnight and my mom made me go to bed. After I was done, I read it over and over and over and over. I must have read it 5 times before I even thought about looking for The Hutt Gambit. So far, I haven't found a book to top this one. The Truce at Bakura is just as good. If you liked The Paradise Snare, you'll like The Truce at Bakura. Ms. Crispin knows exactly how to make a book like-able. I liked the way she gives Han's past a sort of Oliver Twist likeness (the droid, F-8GN=Fagan, Han's begging and pick-pocketing, Han's running to a relative and Shrike's stealing him back, etc.). Ms. Crispin has the perfect set up for a character with a shady past such as Han. Muuurgh is cool. At first, I thought "Oh, great, a Chewie-wannabe," but after I read a bit, I saw Muuurgh's character develop, and he's not a Chewie-wannabe at all. He is a really awesome new character that is even huger than Chewie! (pretty scary to have a friend that is 9'9" tall, taller than a swimming pool is deep.) I also like the way Ms. Crispin shows Alderaan, and Bail Organa with the little princess on his lap (Princess Leia) and how Han thinks that that princess was living her pefect life and all that. Well, anyways, this is a really good book, and you should read it.
Rating: Summary: Han's has a fantastic begining !!! Review: This is a great book, SW fans wll enjoy it to the fullest.I like how the author had the flashbacks of Han's life whih I thoght was an interesting style I also liked Han's relationship between Dewlanda his wookie friend.I thought his escape was quite good for a 17 year old.A lot of interesting things happen on Ylesia. I liked the scence of when Han lands on Alderaan Leia's home planet.Another important detail is Han's relationship with th slave Bria Tharen. They have one bumpy ride on there way out. Murrghh is also one tough Togorian he's Han's personnal bodygaurd as a pilot on Ylesia.
Rating: Summary: An awesome addition to my star wars collection. Review: I loved this book. It was filled with action. I especially liked the part where Garris Shrike died. He sucked. I could not put this book down from the time I bought ti to the time I finished it. I highly recommend this book to any Star Wars fan.
Rating: Summary: The fastest I've ever read a SW book! Review: We finally get to learn Han Solo's past... What could be greater? With the end of the school year approaching I finally had time to read a book by choice, and I couldn't have picked much better. We learn why Han likes wookies so much, AND why he doesn't get along with Hutts very well. And can he learn foreign languages fast or what? What about Muuurgh? Who would have thought that Han actually once had a buddy bigger and cooler than Chewie? A must read for any fan of Han Solo! The only SW books I consider better are "The Bacta War" and the Jedi Acadamy trilogy. (no, I haven't read Zahn yet!)
Rating: Summary: Great!!!! Fills you in on some of Han's past Review: This is a good book it has less action the the others. It tells tou how Han got started fromthe days of working with Sarn. Hoawever it has too many flashbacks that really doesn't answer who Han's parents were however you do find out he came from a rich family. There's even a scene where he meets Senatorr Garm Iblis (or some name like that), who was in the Thrawn trilogy. This is still a good book but I thought it was pretty short. His love affair with Bria is interesting. However the rescue forMurrggh's girlfriend Mrovv could of have more excitement. Don't get me wrong this book is good just that the other are better
Rating: Summary: Action packed. A must for Han Solo fans. Review: This book was beautiflly writen. i want Han and Bria get together soooooooo bad, and they finnlly did. this book was great, the best of all three.
Rating: Summary: It doesn't get much better than this. Review: It's always tough to write a book (or trilogy) that "fills in the gaps" of another story. In this case, Crispin tells the story of Han Solo's childhood and teenage years, focusing primarily on his encounter with Bria and the Ylesian hoax. Rather than just recording a historical listing of each event in Han's life, Crispin shows each situation with vivid detail and dead-on characterization. It is actually believable that the Han from The Paradise Snare could grow up to be the lovable rogue that we all know from the movies. Overall, the story is delightful as well as informative. Having read the other two in the series, I have to admit that this is my favorite of the Han Solo Trilogy.
Rating: Summary: Best Book I've Ever Read Review: Great book. A must have for all SW fans. Loved Muurgh and Dewlanna. Loved "May the Life-Stregth be with you." and the other ties to the movies (ie when Han saw Leia as a girl on Alderaan) True to the great aliens from the trilogy like the T'landa til. Read this book.
Rating: Summary: The Pardise Snare Review: This book was great . I really enjoy it. It kept me in sepense .I had some questions about Han'slife.
Rating: Summary: True Star Wars Heart Review: This book (the entire Solo series, really) captures the classic Star Wars adventure and whimsy. Its exciting from the first page, and never slows down. Its never predictable, and adds a satisfying history to our beloved Han Solo.
