Rating: Summary: Simply Amazing! Review: I bought the first book, the crystal shard back when I was in 9th Grade and just finished it the end of my junior year of highschool. (I put the book down for a while then lost it amongst other books later to be found and finished junior year). Not only was it a personal acomplishment being that it took me an ungodly amount of time to finish such a small book, it brought me into a whole new world of hobbys. I finished Streams of Silver and the Halflings Gem on the following weekend. Just today I went out and bought The Legacy of the Drow, The Dark Elf Trilogy and The Cleric Quintet, in hopes to totaly bury myself within them till I have read them all. IM HOOKED!!! The Icewind Dale Trilogy byfar was a ground braking read for myself for I never really considered myself a "reader" and the thought of sitting down and finishing 2 books in 2 night sounded more of a punishment then pleasure. Now I find myself reaching for any R.A Salvatore book in reach, just trying even if for a split second to loose myself within his writing. I particularly took a liking to Artemis Entreri whom I now found myself wanting more of towards the end of the trilogy. Although his character eventually dimed towards the last few pages I was not disapointed by the way he handled Rassiter and his final dialogue. In conclusion I loved these books, all fulfilled my exspectations to a "T" and would now consider myself a fan of the master of Fergotten Realms, R.A Salvatore.
Rating: Summary: What's the big deal?? Review: I have tried and tried to read this book (amongst all of the other dumb Forgotten Realms), it has not worked. The books are boring, and everything seems so redundant. I hated them. They are just like all of the other stupid Terry Goodkind and LOTR stuff......boring fantasy. I DON"T recommend it, period.
Rating: Summary: Read this novel NOW Review: If you like fantasy novels at all, get this novel. If you like Forgotten Realms fantasy novels, get this novel NOW. This is one of the best fantasy novels period, and it's just one part of author R.A. Salvatore's masterpiece collection of Forgotten Realms books. GET IT!!!!
Rating: Summary: Put all your hairy toes on the table.. Review: If you really didn't like the books, why don't you post several you did like?
Drizzt is one of the finest and noblest characters ever written. The Crystal Shard portrays him best as wild and fearless, as well as honorable and stoic. I look up to his uncorruptable character in my own life.
The second half of Streams of Silver is at the very top of my favorite fantasy book list. The action, the fights, just blew me away the first time I read it.
It is true that the novels can be clownish, and lack dimension at times, but in the end there is much there to be discovered.
Rating: Summary: Drizzt and Friends Review: These 3 books center around a good-aligned drow elf named Drizzt. They're high-adventure books set in the Forgotten Realms, a unique and complex fantasy world. If you've never read in the Forgotten Realms before, here is a pretty good place to start. With that said, these are not the first books Drizzt's chronologically published life. I recommend you find Salvatore's earliest books dealing with Drizzt, and proceed forward, but if you prefer to just pick a trilogy and start there, then THIS is the trilogy to start with. Important side characters that will factor in heavily in Drizzt's life are carefully and thoughtfully detailed in these 3 novels. Plot reviews can be found in abundance by looking up the individual titles, so I won't waste people's time with yet another synopsis of events. Suffice it to say that the action is gripping, the characters are well-fleshed out, and there are great plot twists and turns. A word of caution: although this is a pretty good place to jump into the series, you may feel a bit confused at times (because it assumes you are familiar with some backstory), but it should not detract from your overall enjoyment. I give each of these books 5 stars. They are my personal favorites in the Drizzt series.
Rating: Summary: Horrible... Review: These books were so stupid. I don't know what the fuss has always been about. The world is one-dimensional, unbelievable and paper-dollish; the dwarf is so cliched as to be laughable; Cattie Brie is by far the dumbest name and most annoying character in the annals of fantasy; the barbarian is (again) cliched and ridiculous; the halfling (as usual since Tolkien) is absurd and annoying; the battle scenes are boring, unrealistic and go on forever; the villain is like something out of a bad Saturday morning cartoon. Just pathetic. I started reading the Dark Elf trilogy, dying to know why everyone thinks Salvatore is so great. I couldn't even finish the first book. Just horrid...
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: This book has fighting scenes all the way through, tied in with an awesome story. If you like the first 5 chapters you'll like all three books.

Rating: Summary: Excellent Trilogy Review: This is one of Salvatore's most brilliant works. From the opening paragraph of the first book to the last sentence of the final book, you are engrossed with the story. The will have to be some routine altering changes when you start reading this, you will never want to put it down. I myself couldn't be torn away from it and was left anxious to read more about Drizzt Do'Urden and his friends. I am waiting right now on the next set of Salvtore's books that expands the tale the title character, Drizzt. Read this! You'll never regret it if you are a fan of the genre.
