Summary: Wow
Review: I loved this book. It was as good as Exiles. These are probably the 2 best books I have read. I love the aspect of feminine superiority. I love the various love stories that develop and grow in this book. It has all the great wonders of magic, love, and mystery that any good science fiction/fantasy novel should

Summary: EXQUISITE
Review: MELANIE RAWN'S "MAGEBORN TRAITOR" WAS ONE OF HER BEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS YET. WITH A FANTASTIC STORYLINE CONTINUED ON FROM THE FIRST VOLUME, "EXILES", THIS SEQUEL TIES NEW PLOTS WITH OLD. AS A BOOK REVEIWER FOR SAN BERNARDINO SCHOOL DISTRICTS, I WOULD APPROVE THIS BOOK TO ANY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT INTERESTED IN FANTASY/FICTION. EXCELLENT AND RIVITING.

Summary: Apologies - but it's still predictable
Review: Melanie Rawn created a a winning formula many years ago and adhears to it. Her characters from "The Dragon Prince" series could interchange seamlessly with her characters from "Exiles." I don't wish to cause offense but that is my honest opinion.

As a personal aside I would like to defend my intelligence. With an Honours degree in English Literature, and a recently completed Masters degree in Critical Literary Theory, when it comes to good literature.....I know my stuff.

Summary: Mequissa is a fool
Review: First off I would like to say that I was seriosly outraged my Mequissa's review. Children's book indeed. Not only is this a highly UNpredictable book, it's very well written and not nearly as Utopian as you make it. You knew exactly what was going to happen, did you? You think too highly of yourself. And I suppose the main character's not allowed to be in love. I suppose you'd prefer a novel where she was bitter and hard-hearted. Perhaps to the point where she lived all by herself in a hole in the ground. (England, perhaps?) You obviously have little or no intelligence and very bad judgement. Next time you feel the need to 'be different' and throw a bunch of unfounded insults at a wonderfully well written book just save yourself the appearance of ignorance and go read a Goosebumps novel. I'm sure you'll find them very intellectually stimulating.

Summary: The Greatest Book - YET!!!
Review: All right, let me start out by explaining my outrageously low review of 4 stars for this book: I'm reserving that fifth star for THE CAPTAL's TOWER, which will be "The Greatest Book - EVER!" I have read many of Melanie Rawn's books, although due to the cover art on Dragon Prince Book I I picked up the Star Scroll so my mother would let me get it, then SHE said don't get Book II get Book I, so I was lucky. Melanie Rawn must be THE greatest AUTHOR ever to grace the science fantasy world. This book is awesome, and anyone who has EVER read science fantasy should read this or they might as well never read a book again. All I can say is that I can't WAIT for THE CAPTAL's TOWER!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Good job melanie! =P
Review: Wow, i love reading melanie rawn! :) She proves in this book (as well as the previous 6 books i have read by her) that she can write an awesome book any time she wants. This book has an evolving but detailed story about the continual quarrel between Mage Guardians and Mallerissi (sp?) and Lenfell's government. Even though my favorite character dies :( he lives on in "spirit", a definitely addictive (ie: quick) read.

Summary: A well written book
Review: While reading the first half of 'Exiles: Ruins of Ambrai' I hoped that the second half of the book would pick up, and much to my suprise the second half was stunning. So, when I saw the second installment was out I snatched 'The Mageborn Traitor' right off of the shelf! The only problem was that it had been awhile since I read the first one and I had already forgotten most of the minor characters (of which there are a great deal of and it seems all are somehow related to one another). After hoping that Melanie Rawn would at least remind the readers what they looked like, I was forced to look through the first one to remind myself. But, the main characters were more vivid and enchanting than ever, also tangible and realistic. Something that sometimes lacks in other books. We got to learn more about the topsy-turvy social structure of Lenfell and even got to see how Mage Gaurdians were taught to use their Mageborn gifts. The plot twists are amazing, especially when Cailet suspects that of two Prentice Mages, Josselin or Jored, that one of them might be Glenin's son and a Malerrisi! Let's just say that she had me fooled and I suspected the wrong one. My favorite parts were when Gorynel Desse's Wraith would prattle on inside Cailet's head. Overall, this book was exellent and I eagerly await the third and final book to the trilogy, 'The Captal's Tower.' Also, I'm not afraid to say that I almost wept like a baby when a certain character died.

Summary: Left Hanging
Review: I'm writing this review just to say to anyone thinking of buying it,both books vol 1&2 are wonderful. However if you don't want to be left hanging don't buy them. I've been waiting for two years for vol 3, Titled "The Captal's Tower" which was promised at the end of vol 2. I have asked everyone at every bookstore in my city what is the status, and the answer is always the same,we have know ideal. I hope Melanie is ok but she has really disappointed a very loyal follower of her work.

Summary: Good... but...
Review: The book was really good, and it built up to what people expected to be a great climax, then, for myself at least, it was a major let-down. Mrs. Rawn killed my favorite character, left tons of unanswered questions and possiblities, and has yet to come out with the answers in her promised third book, "The Captal's Tower." "Exiles : Ruins of Ambrai" was one of the first books I read by Mrs. Rawn, and I immediatly fell in love, but compared to that, this one was a bit of a let down. But if you like fast-paced novals that have a bit of everything in them, then you should like this. It is set in her very feminest world, but, one can get used to all the slights to men. Just to answer some previous reviewer's question, there is a reason for why women rule this world : You'll recall there was a huge mage war that killed or polluted everything, including the humans. A woman's ability to produce a healthy child sky-rocketed her social position.

Summary: An awesome book!
Review: I liked The Mageborn traitor even more than I liked The Ruins of Ambrai! There are just so many surprises that it stays interesting all the way through. That's not something that can be said about many huge books, at least, not for me. :)
