Summary: This book is OVER-RATED!
Review: I was so excited when I saw this book on sale at the stores. However,it was a disappointment! To all avid Star Wars fans, this book is over rated! It's not an achivement in sci-fi literature,it's a pice of literature crap rushed out to the bookstores to cash in on the movie coming out soon. The story is a muddle of soap operatic plot. Now,don't get me wrong here,I'm a Star Wars fan,but this book is a total waste of time and money. It starts off strongly but ends with a whimper. The ending is a total let down. Terry Brooks is a good author.I've read some of his books and they were fantastic but Star Wars:The Phantom Menace ranks as among the worst of Brooks' works. This is a major dissapointment to the Star Wars franchise. I'm telling you, with this kind of story, the only thing that is going to carry the Star Wars prequel at the cinema is it's reputation and big budget special effects. This book has showed us how authors and filmakers alike would do anything just to earn an additional million dollars. My advice to all Force fans, boycott this book,Don't buy it! Don't even rent it! It's a real let-down!If any of you are still stubborn enough to even read this crap, then MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU.

Summary: Simply put, awe inspiring
Review: I wish there was an option for 6 stars, because it deserves it. The book moves right along, and give background info not found in the movie. Trust me, if you read this book, it wont spoil the movie. Why? As Lucas said, its a silent movie. Read this book.

Summary: darth vader s*@%s runny eggs
Review: Terry Brooks whose only previous writing credit is the sword of shannahra series, or whatever its called is clearly jumping on the george lucas corporate coat tail for bucks, luckily he/she? will make enough to retire to a remote island with no further need to pollute bookstores with saturday morning kiddie flick adaptations.

Thanks.

Summary: I've read the first chapter and I love it already
Review: The first chapter is a real intro. It tells of young Anakin Skywalker's racing career. The very last sentence, of the chapter, will shock you.

Summary: EMOTIONAL READING
Review: Reading this before the movie is released, this novelization of the screenplay answers questions that are almost 25 years old. Extremely well written, Brooks allows the reader to fully experience the Phantom Menace in all its grand splendor and far-reaching scope. Whether it will stand up to readers after the movie has yet to be seen, but it is off to a wonderful start. As with the films, this book leaves many cliffhangers that won't be addressed until Episodes 2 and 3. It is hopeful that Brooks will adapt these as well.

Summary: This is the greatest thing that happened to me!
Review: Being allowed to write this book was astounding. It was a great honor. I hope my writing lives up to the high standards set upon me. It is probably the best book I've ever written, and I hope everyone enjoys it.

Summary: Another Lucas inspired classic!
Review: If I could give this book 6 stars I would. The plight of a young boy trying to live out his dream of becoming more than what he is is alive and well once again. The use of mental images are what make this book so great. A picture is painted in your head from the opening words. If you like Star Wars this is a superb piece, and if you don't like Star Wars you will when you're done! May the Force be with you!!

Summary: Great book...but spoils the movie
Review: A significant change from the previous Star Wars stories. This one is a little darker and doesn't worry as much about making the audience feel good as the first Star Wars did.

Summary: GREAT BOOK
Review: This book is excellent, It is written with incredible pace and tangible energy throughout. It contains some great scenes that I don't think will be in the film. It is a great read. The story- An evil trade federation seizes the small and peacefull world of Naboo, the grand chancelor of the republic sends two jedi to keep the peace, and all hell breaks loose. In the course of their journey, they will shoot their way out of a palace, crash land on a desolate planet, meet the future Darth Vader, fight a huge war and duel with the bigest badass this side of a double-ended lightsaber. A GREAT READ!!!!!!
