Rating: Summary: A must read for any Star Wars fan! Review: Great Book! I completely loved this wonderful story. The book goes into to great detail about many parts of the story that you might have missed in the movie, and the writing was fantastic! I loved it so much I read it in two days. I could not put it down. I would strongly urge anyone who loved the movie or can't afford to keep buying movie tickets to buy this book and read it many many times.

Rating: Summary: The Force is with this one, it is. Review: I waited to order this book until after I had seen the movie in the belief, as is the tradition with most movies/books, that when a book is based on a movie, the movie is always better, and vise versa. Well, truth be told, I was incorrect. The book is much better than the movie. Don't get me wrong, Episode I is, in my opinion, the best movie of all time, but I absolutely love this book. It provides background on the Sith and the Jedi. It shows crucial scenes that are for some reason missing from the movie, such as the reason why Anakin and Qui-Gon are running to the Queen's ship. It even has a little bit of character development for Darth Maul, just by having him talk more. The book also cleared me up on some fuzzy points in the movie they didn't quite explain properly. I can't wait for the Novelization of Episode II.Get this book, it will answer most of your unsolved questions.
Rating: Summary: Not as moving as the original Trilogy Review: I bought the book as soon as it was available in anticipation of the release of the movie and, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the story. However, the original trilogy was a moving tale and a modern fable, and this book begining the prequil does not come close to the quality of the trilogy. It seems to have been rushed and written at a 5th to 6th grade reading level. I wish that Timothy Zahn had been contracted to write the prequil as his writing style is complex and of the highest quality. Overall I enjoyed the book but would have liked more depth to the characters and the story.
Rating: Summary: great book! Review: the writer clearly has talent and has a way of describing scenes and characters , the book showed more detail and understanding than the movie ever could. This would make a great book to read in a airplain or waiting for one.
Rating: Summary: An excellent, accessible, vivid work Review: TPM is an excellent, accessible work that extends the cinematic experience in many important ways, including the characterization of key figures in the story. Terry Brooks offers a closer glimpse into the complex, young world of Anakin Skywalker, who later, as we know, devolves into the demonic Darth Vader. Brooks handles the epic material with a fluidity, balance and celerity not commonly found in contemporary fiction. Lucas is to be commended as well for tapping the seasoned talent of Terry Brooks for this challenging undertaking, the result of which is less to be regarded as merely a novelization of a movie than a unique novel distinctly enjoyable from its cinematic counterpart. Extended descriptions of the many lavish vistas inspired by Lucas' vision in conjunction with scenes simply not found to be in the movie make this a memorable and purposeful fictional experience both those familiar and new to the vast galaxy that is Star Wars. Enjoyable on many levels, this fantastical work will find its way easily onto many shelves of readers of all ages and compel readers to revisit it for further enjoyment. Thank you to Terry Brooks and George Lucas for collaborating on this project and successfully delivering a powerful, tasteful tale multiple generations of readers and writers can look toward and from it derive entertainment, wisdom, and inspiration.
Rating: Summary: A long time ago . . . . Review: Terry Brooks has done a fine job with The Phantom Menace. I'd just finished reading The Triumph and the Glory and it left me in the mood for more action on a epic scale, which Brooks provided on every page of his book. Well done.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I have ever read! Review: I read the book before I saw the movie, and I was astounded by it! The movie was even better, but why did it skip the part when Anakin helps that Tusken Raider? My favorite part in the book was the lightsaber battle between Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Darth Maul. The only character I hated in the book and movie was Jar Jar Binks.
Rating: Summary: Almost perfect... Review: The book was very elaborate & descriptive; Brooks apparently wrote it w/ intention that it should be as engaging as possible, & for the most part, he succeeded. Scenes in the book that didn't appear in the movie were the most intriguing parts. W/ some unanswered questions finally answered, the book basically fleshed out the storyline by filling in gaps that resulted from the editing that was conducted to transfer it from screenplay to the actual film. The only disappointing part of the book was the very end, which seemed so abrupt & unclear. The film's ending was not nearly as sudden & swathed.
Rating: Summary: Magnificent, Just Like the Movie Review: An excellent book, the author definitely knows how to get you into the details of the Episode I movie. If you already saw the movie, you must read this book and get ready for some things that you did not see in the movie. If you have not seen the movie yet, read the book anyway, you will love it.
