Summary: This was one of the best books ever written!
Review: Star Wars episode 1 is an extremely great book. It is riviting, just like the movie. Terry Brooks did an excellent job. Five stars! Two thumbs up! "The whole nine yards!"

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Only as a reference book.
Review: One Star... Why? Two words: "Terry Brooks" I'm sorry... the man can't write. I once tried to slog through "Sword of Shanara" - and it was awful. Reading "The Phantom Menace" I got to the point where I was almost afaid to read the next paragraph... afraid of what he might do. Some of Brooks' descriptions are truly painful. There are a few places where useful technical information is imparted. If the book works at all it works as a reference. In places it serves to offer more data about the Star Wars universe and fill in gaps left by the movie. My advice? If you still want to read it - wait for the paperback.

Summary: A comparable book to the movie, but with added sequences
Review: I read this book after I saw this movie. Brooks didn't change anything, except for the fact that he added a few sequences. This is probably because it is based on the screenplay which is different from the movie. These sequences includes the first chapter which discusses Anakin's life as a podracer. This desroys the whole Star Wars tradition! Every movie starts out in space because of the little scrolling summary. Nevertheless it's a very decriptive book. I think that it is a much easier read after a person has seen the movie because you know what is going to happen. It is still very compelling though. I highly recommend this book to all those Star Wars fans out there. Have fun!!

Summary: I have to say. It was pretty good.
Review: I enjoyed the book more after seeing the movie because seeing the movie puts a picture in your head about what you are reading. I think Terry Brooks explained everything quite well. I liked the book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An outstading written movie.
Review: I thought it was great even after seeing the movie. I would never put that book down,it just kept me alert while I was reading it! I felt that I was there the whole time.I like Jake Lloyd he's a brilliant young actor.

Summary: One of the best Star Wars books ever!
Review: Well, it delves far deeper into the plotline of the movie, going into characters' thoughts. A highlight is the 2 page Sith history. I read it before the movie, btw, and it didn't "spoil" the story for me, I just knew what would happen. It was necessary, as the book is miles above the movie, which I rank second of Star Wars (behind ESB). A must read for all Star Wars fans. Btw, I'm 13 and didn't find the plot too hard to understand, nor did my 10 year old brother.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great book
Review: I just finished the book after having seen the movie twice. The book does a great job of answering lingering questions from the movie, such as who the Sith are and where they came from. In addition, the book contains at least five complete chapters that are not in the movie! A great book that perfectly complements and expands the movie.

Summary: I enjoyed the CD's more than the movie!
Review: If you enjoy and follow the Star Wars saga, the audio CD is a must to own. The background effects and the additional almost six scenes that are not included in the movie are wonderful. They fill in the blanks and give you more insight on the characters thoughts and actions. Even a brief explanation on young Skywalker's future at the end by Master Yoda. My four year old enjoyed the detailed description of the races and battles. It was as if it was actually happening at the moment. It almost sounded as if I had a star cruiser in my living room. For busy parents or people in general the audio is a wonderful way of keeping abreast with new books while involved in other activity.

Summary: My dad was WHO ??
Review: Grand action on an epic scale! Star Wars The Phantom Menace is very deserving of the acclaim it has received. I usually stick to terrestrial epics like the recently released WWII thriller THE TRIUMPH AND THE GLORY, or darkly fascinating Stephen King blockbusters like THE GREEN MILE, or DESPERATION. But a cosmic swashbuckler is good for the soul every now and then.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Thrilling, Greatly Enjoyed
Review: This book was a really great book. This was the first STAR WARS book I have ever read, even though I am a big STAR WARS fan, and it gat me hooked on all the STAR WARS novels, but at first I felt obligated to read the book because it was written by my favorite author, Terry Brooks. I really liked the parts in the book with the discription of the histoy of the Sith, and of Anakin helping the Tusken Raider, parts not in the movie that I thought should have been. Overall, the whole book was great, I have no negative comments about, it was thrilling and action filled, and it kept my interest the whole way through, I didn't want to put it down. This is a must read for any true STAR WARS fan.
