Rating: Summary: It was OK. Nothing more. Review: Terry Brooks is a great author that was constrained when he wrote TPM. Essentially, this book is the script of the film fleshed out with brief descriptions of the action by Brooks. Only in the pod racing scenes is Brooks free to write in his true style due to the lack of dialogue. You will only learn a few things by reading this book that you can't get from the movie.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books! Review: I think it was a really good book. It was a little bit differant than the movie though. EXALENT.
Rating: Summary: Very Good Review: I did not think this would be a very well written book i just wanted to know what happens in the film but it was very well written. It was also a very descriptive book. If you like star wars then you will like this and if not but still like sci-fi then i think you would also like this.
Rating: Summary: Very good reading Review: The novelization of The Phantom Menace is very good. I would suggest seeing the movie before reading the book though because there is much more insight in the book. This is obvious, but I read the book before seeing the movie and there were some things I expected to happen that didn'. Terry Brooks does a wonderful job with this book. It is truly worthy to be called a Star Wars novel and it stands up to the caliber of any great novel.
Rating: Summary: Great the best Review: The story was very good. I read it before I saw the movie and it helped me understand it better. This book keeps you reading. I have never finished a book so quickly. If you had trouble understanding the movie you should read this. It explains things that I'm sure you're wondering whether it's, what did jarjar say?, or, who is he?, this book has the answer. The only thing I found unusual about this book was that it added in a few scenes that wern't in the movie, but that just made it better. If you buy this book and you're like me you will love it.
Rating: Summary: It is an intense book. Of dreams come true Review: This is the fist book I have ever read in my life. It sounds crazy but true. I am 17 and it was the most best thing. Now the book has gotten me more interested in Star Wars Frenziee. Ihave now bought 8 new Star Wars books. I am almost done with the trilogy. But overall that was the most inspiring and most influencial book or thing that has happened to me...................
Rating: Summary: Buy this book. Review: If you are a Star Wars fan then you need this book. I couldn't put it down, it might have even been better than the movie. You get a better feeling for all the characters, and some insites to what might be ahead. The parts with Anakin are much better in the book because you can read exactly what he is thinking (and dreaming), and JarJar is much less annoying. There are many new scenes, and little diferences that will make you look at the movie in a totally new light.
Rating: Summary: good, but a little simplistic Review: I felt this book was targeted more towards the younger people. 12-15 would be my guess. The story was true to the movie, and there are some added scenes, and you can know what the characters were thinking. This helps you to understand the story as a whole a little more.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME Review: This book is even better than the movie, if you ask me. However, the movie if definitely meant to be seen before the book is read, because you have to know how the characters look and interact before reading the book. This book gives great background on many characters and events, including the history of the Sith. I do not agree with some of the other reviews that say that Terry Brooks is a bad writer for Star Wars. I think that this was one of the best Star Wars novelizations.
Rating: Summary: A really good book Review: Most of this book followed exactly like the movie the book was better than the movie. It was never boring and had great charcter descriptions. I am glad I read this book and I would recommend it to anybody.
