Rating: Summary: An enjoyable read Review: I picked up the book *after* seeing the movie. I thought it was basically a good read and I liked the instances where the movie was expanded upon, but I think I expected a few more of those instances than we got. Also, it appeared as if the author was constrained, having to stick to subject matter that really isn't his own. That said, I believe Mr. Brooks did an admirable job.
Rating: Summary: SW Episode 1 TPM isn't only a blockbuster on the big screen. Review: Star Wars - Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace is a great movie. Equally as great is the novelisation by Terry Brookes. The novel follows the movie very closely but has small extra bits added for even more atmosphere. And it works. For example the novel starts out with a pod race unlike the movie and features more dialogue and characters in Mos Espa.An excellent movie adaptation.
Rating: Summary: AN EXCELLENT BOOK.. THE BEST!!!! Review: Terry Brooks does an excellent job depicting the Star Wars Epidsode I movie. It was as good as the movie! It is an AWESOME book- and it deserves more than 5 stars... I give it 10!

Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: The Phantom Menace is great swashbuckling adventure in the tradition of "The Triumph and the Glory", "Excalibur", and the original Star Wars movies. I greatly enjoyed it!
Rating: Summary: Run and get this book!!! Review: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace is a wonderful adventure that I am proud to say is a Star Wars book. Brooks writes very well, introducing characters and having a smooth and fast paced storyline. Episode 1 also includes scenes that are not in the movie, which is great. If you want a smooth sci-fi action adventure with great characters, get Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace!!
Rating: Summary: Go see the movie and skip the book Review: I have read and enjoyed many of Terry Brooks works. However, I believe the Phantom Menace is far below his ability. Of course he may not have been given much of a creative license. The book was a re-hash of the movie. It had very little to offer that the movie didn't provide. The dialog in the book is direct quotes from the movie. Overall a big disappointment. Movie was great, book I could have done without!
Rating: Summary: BRILLIANT, FANTASTIC! Review: I have read a lot of books in my life. Now that I'm 12, this tops it all off! Terry Brooks is a brilliant author. The book couldn't be more complete if the book had pictures from the movie! This is a smash hit. Everything is so much more detailed. Thanks, Terry! May the Force be with you!
Rating: Summary: Interesting Reading. Review: I came across this book from a mistake. Me and my brother and my Dad were supposed to get something else. We misunderstood and got this book. I decided to read it and discovered this was a good book. Some parts were a little sketchy. But most of the time I couldn't complain. This is a good book.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good..... but goes off the rails at times Review: I read the book after seeing the film a couple of times and at first found it an extremely entertaining read. The first half was very enjoyable, and some of Brooks' additions to the movie were very interesting. Yet my opinion of the book changed and I found that it became more and more annoying in sections, the further I got into the book. Some of the major events in the film were squeezed into a few pages in the novel especially the Pod Race and the segments of the final battle. Yet what annoyed me the most was the treatment given to Anakin and Padme's relationship. Whilst the film gave a hint of a romance or relationship to come, the book was as subtle as a sledgehammer as Anakin seemed to spend half of the book stating how much he loved Padme and how he wanted to be with her, or moaning and groaning about how he might not see her again. Remember we are dealing with kids here. Lets hold off on the declarations of love until they are a little older. Other than these points the book was very good..... Yet see the movie, and see it multiple times and you will see the any loopholes that the book seems to fill in, and apparent quite clearly within the film.
