Rating: Summary: make understand the ending Review: The one thing about the book is that explain and make Ankin a lot more understand. Let face Ankin is suppose to be cock we all seen in the Star War moive especially Darth Vader fight with one hand on his lightsaber. In the book he tell his future wife the first time they meet that he going to married her. Plus it explain the end when Ankin see something in the Force and that what he shoot at. It not a lucky shot.
Rating: Summary: I LOVED this book. Review: It was well written, and well organized. This is the first StarWars movie I've ever seen and I loved it but in some ways the book isbetter. You get a better idea of the charecters backgrounds and a better feeling of the story. Darth Maul is my favorite charecter. I truley hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.:)
Rating: Summary: a superb companion to the movie Review: Read it after the film for best effect as it fills in all the bits that that could have done with a bit more coverage (like Anakin's departure from Tatooine). I didn't have a problem with the Padme/Anakin thing but if you only want the technical specifications of a Nubian or the exact size and mass of the Trade Federation battleships then I can see how you might find it irritating. Covers the human side of the story better than the film.
Rating: Summary: I HATED this book!! Review: I hated this book. The only reason I gave it 5 stars is because I loved the movie. I saw it 7 times. There are some parts that I think that George Lucas should have put in the movie. For instance the part where Anakin proposes to Amidala. And when Anakin tries to kill Yoda. Read the book if only for those parts. Definently watch the movie.
Rating: Summary: Phantom tapes end the "when we gonna get there" blues. Review: Star Wars fans will be delighted by Alexander Adams' brilliant reading of the unabridged Phantom Menace. He does a masterful job of capturing each character's essence. We purchased the tapes prior to our annual family vacation which involved many hours of driving with children from six to eighteen years of age. The nine and a half hour reading was perfect and I didn't once hear, "When we gonna get there?"
Rating: Summary: ALL YOUNG PADAWANS MUST READ THIS BOOK! Review: I'm a huge Star Wars freak. When I started reading this book, I was a little disappointed. In fact it has been the only time that I have ever said that I enjoyed the movie more than the book, but all that changed as the book went on. I don't care what anybody says, Jar Jar Binks is a great character, and I liked him even more in the novel. The thing that I did not like about the writing was the fact that some of the scenes in the movie and the book were the same, though they were in different order, but that was really no big deal, because it didn't take away from the story in anyway shape or form. Another thing that I didn't like was the multi-covers, though I realize that a lot of people will buy all of them just for collection's sake. However, I think that it would have been more appropriate to use the same painting that is used on the soundtrack and the movie poster for the book. Not a big deal, and you can't judge a book by it's cover. All in all, it was a great book, I will read it again. Can't wait till Episode II!
Rating: Summary: See the movie - skip the book. Review: I loved the movie so much that I saw it twice. I couldn't wait to read the book, but once I started, I couldn't wait to get it over with. The writing is so tedious and boring. The only reason I finished it was to read the little insights the book offered into the characters.. It certainly didn't make me want to read anything else by Terry Brooks.
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IS GREAT AND ONCE STARTED I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN! Review: THIS IS A GREAT ADVENTURE AND A GREAT STORY OF A WORLD WITHIN OUR POTENTIAL.... THIS STAR WARS BOOK HAS A EXCELENT BEGINNING AND END.... I RECOMEND IT TO READERS THAT LOVE AND ADORE STAR WARS....
Rating: Summary: A good entertaining book. Review: I thought that the book was good. If people want to be mentally stimulated, they should go read something else. Don't be so picky. I read books constantly, and, mind you some are considerably more cerebral than this one, I would say that this was a nice entertaining and fairly action-packed book. I have a few friends who are not big readers, and they found it quite captivating. Seriously, though, you should just enjoy it for the fun of it, and not pick it apart. I liked the additonal scenes added to the book, and the extra explantions regarding some of the things not well clarified in the movie. I think that the story written by George Lucas was well done, and it fits in very well with the rest of the series. I would, however, recommend that you read the book after seeing the movie.
Rating: Summary: If you didn't like it your crazy! Review: I love Star Wars it is the best book I have ever read. Every time I want to see the movie I just go and read the book. ( It is my favorite movie.)
