Rating: Summary: Invisible!? No way! Review: What would you do if you woke up one morning, took a shower in the dark, and shortly afterward, realized that you were invisible? In this book, you can read through the trials and tribulations that 15 year old Bobby faces when he wakes up invisible, as well as the new people and challenges that Bobby meets. Through games of hide and seek with the police, truant officers, the police, and his nosy neighbor with way too much time on her hands, Bobby isn't sure if his life will ever be back to normal. I really enjoyed this book. It was a good read, not paced too fast or slow, with a very original plot that was unlike any I've ever read before. It's not part if a series, but there would be no surprise if Andrew Clements wrote a sequel for his cliffhanger ending. I think most teens would enjoy this laugh out loud book because it's about a teen.
Rating: Summary: Speechless! Review: When I first picked up THings NOt SEEN I knew it would take a drastic event for me to even consider letting it go. Bobby Phillips snappy attitude and strange ideas makes the book a real "heart throb". As Bobby wakes up one morning and happens to have a "malfunction" his whole life changes before him. HE WAS INVISIBLE!!!! Dealing with his problem takes him through anger, happiness, and sadness. Do you think he can tough it out?
Rating: Summary: Clements has outdone himself Review: Wow! This book is spectacular! As most people know, this book is about a boy named Bobby Phillips who one day finds himself invisible. Yes, invisible. He tells his parents who won't let him tell a soul because they think people will run tests on him and whatnot. Of corse, no one can keep a secret that big so Bobby tells this blind girl named Alicia (imagine the chances of Bobby running into someone blind while he's invisible) because he thinks she's pretty and nice. Then the girl's parents find out, and Alicia's dad is some supergenius or something, so he and Bobby's dad work together to try and turn bobby back to normal. Of corse, Alicia and Bobby crush on each other and everything. But if you don't like romance, don't worry, there's barely any. So anyway, Alicia turns out to be the smart one and eventually finds the way to turn Bobby back, but I won't tell you how. Many of you people probably think that this is a spoof of H.G. Wells's THE INVISIBLE MAN, and even though Clements may have gotten his idea from Wells, this book is completely different. For one thing, it's about a normal teen, not some insane guy that wants to take over the world. Oh well, I'm rambling, but the truth is that this is a great book. I liked it because I'm kind of a science and philosophy nerd, so I like the ideas of refracting light and invisibily casting a shadow on dense matter. Clement's books are usually ok, but he's outdone himself this time. It's hard for me to admit it, but i almost cried when I finished this book because I loved it so much. So definately read this book and enjoy it while it lasts.
