Rating: Summary: Better make into a movie Review: I laughed when I saw Shatner the actor listed as the author, but bought it anyway -- actors generally can't write. Boy was I wrong. Outstanding. Paramount is a bunch of morons if they don't fund this into a movie, it would be a blockbuster. A true work of brilliance.
Rating: Summary: This is the only way to bring Kirk back. Review: The problem with Paramount was that THE RETURN was too costly to porduce, so THE RETURN became a novel instead. The length is astounding! William Shatner brings us a long and interesting tale envolving the Borg, Romulans, and TOS characters that keeps the idea of Trek alive in the minds of the readers. This is one of my favorite novels, and I read it constantly.
Rating: Summary: A Mystery of Suspense Review: I have never read any of WIlliam Shatners books. The Return was a riveting supsense adrenaline rush. I found myself turning page after page until the book was finished. I could not put it down. The synopsis of the story with the borg falling into play with Star Trek I the Movie was amazing. You Go Shatner!
Rating: Summary: Shatner at his best Review: With this book, William Shatner proves he knows as much about what makes Trek work as anyone and in fact, knows more than most. This book is a thrill a page with wonderful character moments throughout. Shatner also blends the classic characters with the Next Generation and Deep Space Nine characters extreemely well and without any of them suffering from bad characterization (at least not any that is his fault in this novel) or over shadowing characters that might normally get lost when standing next to Kirk or Spock. This is still Shatner's best Star Trek novel, though all of them are well worth the read. This is also the best Star Trek novel I have ever read and it's even better than some of the films!
Rating: Summary: The best Star Trek Novel I have ever read Review: A great book. I thought the idea of a Borg-Romular alliance sounded hokey at first, but Mr. Shatner makes it seam very plausible. Paramount, not making this into a movie was one of the worst mistakes you have ever made.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: Great book ! Exquisete cover , Excptional plot , Perfect time and settings . Most importantly the book was anything but a dissipontment . One minor tiny flaw , What was the deal with the Defiant-class Enterprise? It dosen't really matter but the Borg and Romulans joining forces , who would of thought of that , that's why it's brilliant!
Rating: Summary: This book is amazing! Review: I just love how all the Star Trek books stay connected. I believe they should make a movie out of this book. It would have so much technology involved in it. And I love when they cross over characters from the other series. I read almost all of the Next Generation books that I can get hold of.
Rating: Summary: An Average Read... Review: I love Star Trek and I love the Reeves-Stevens writing team, but I have to say that THE RETURN was just an average read. The weakest point for me was the fact that the reader knew much of what was going on, and who was doing it, WAY before the characters. Thus, it was simply an effort of reading through the pages waiting for the characters to catch up. The mystery should be written for the reader, not the characters. The book did pick up toward the end (last 100 pages), and it was fun to see how many Star Trek references and characters could be cramed into one novel, but overall, it was a disappointment. I hope the others in the "series" get better. My recommendation of an excellent Reeves-Stevens Trek book is FEDERATION... one of the best. Period.
Rating: Summary: Great Book, Full of Action, Cool Fact About V'ger Review: This book was so full of intense adventure, I couldn't stand to put it down. Characters appear from TOS, TNG, and DS9. Can't wait to read "The Avenger".
Rating: Summary: William Shatner's best writing to date!!!!! Review: This book is the best by the talented Capt. Kirk(William Shatner) This book will keep you glued to the pages, and never gets boring.
