Rating: Summary: *sweet* Review: LOVED, LOVED , LOVED.... this book!!! damn i couldn't put it down. Actually i kept thinking about how much i wish daemon was a real person (you all know what i'm talking about). well i just have to say Anne you out did yourself in this book =)
Rating: Summary: Yes!!!!!!! Review: I can't really put into words how much I LOVED this book. I only bought it because of the cover...but I'm glad I did and I'll never say a bad word about it! I tried to give a report to my english class about it, but it's one of those you just have to read.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely wonderful Review: This book was wonderfully written and drew each character fully into the story. Characters were not thrown in simply to be killed off or play too minor of a role. The style is easy to read and utterly enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: this is one cool book Review: i dug this book a lot. although she (a. bishop) doesn't have the experience of say... steven king, she can really write, because it comes from the heart. i cried in a bunch of parts, and that's rare for me. sometimes the emotions of the characters were a bit confusing because she went off on her own circut. but otherwise this was a really cool, deep journey. it was all fantasy demands and i don't know, it was a bit amateur but that is what i look for: raw, uncomprimised stuff. rock on anne! from a 17 year old girl, audry wolters
Rating: Summary: What a Great Book! Love, Deception, Hate, It Has it ALL! Review: I'll admit, I got the book because of the cover and when I started reading, I Has to stop because it sounded dumb. A few months I picked it up and, I was dead wrong. This book was great. Daemon. Oh, Daeomon. I wish I could find a guy like that! He was so passionate with Jaenelle. Can't wait to read the sequel. I truly recommend this book to people who love graphic scenes and romance. A definite 5!!!!!
Rating: Summary: A beautifully dark and rich novel Review: Daughter of the Blood is my favorite book. It's different from many fantasy novels that clearly distinguish good and evil. The good characters, particularily Daemon and Lucivar, do a lot of cruel things under their enslavement, which makes it much more believable than books where the good charcters stay self-sacrificing and kind under whatever circumstances they are put in. I think Anne Bishop is a wonderful author, and to have written such a deep and involving book as her first novel is incredible. Anyone who likes dark fantasy should definately read this.
Rating: Summary: Finally, The Trilogy is back! Review: Remember when fantasy was published in trilogies, with a beginning, a middle and a final volume? They used to be quite popular, especially the one written by a guy named Tolkien. So it's sure nice to see a new writer following the classic trilogy-concept. Especially since most writers today seem to be doing these never-ending multi-volume series where each entry is a 1000 pages long. And they still get their endings rushed! They obviosuly don't know anything about P A C I N G (look it up in a dictionary; Jordan, Goodkind and others) and bringing each volume in theor sagas to a satisfying conclusion. So let's hope more new writets follow this young(?) author's example and move away from the multi-volume "epics" of today and bring back the trilogies of yore.
Rating: Summary: Best book I've ever read Review: I loved this book and it's now my favorite! Daemon was my favorite character; he was so... Daemon. *grin*
Rating: Summary: fabulous! superb! Trust me, its worth your while Review: I read Daughter off a whim. I just picked it up at the bookstore (and it IS cheaper here) and I read the book in 3 days. I literally couldn't think about anything but the book for 3 DAYS! I can't believe this is Anne Bishop's first novel! Its wonderful and now I'm desperate to read the other two.
Rating: Summary: I loved it but.... Review: It was a little hard to take in plces. The whole age difference was a bit much and the absolute horrific scene where Jaenelle's world is destroyed made me ill. Other than that, I enjoyed what Anne has begun. I read it and the sequel in consecutive evenings...hope she hurries up and gets book 3 out! I especially like the relationship between Lucivar and Daemon. Reminds me of me and my brother. Also loved Surreal. She should get her own series.
