Summary: entertainmant in its darkest fashion
Review: What a book! I could not put it down and read until I finished. I think I have never seen, or read for that matter, a book that is so dark. That has as much charm as the devil himself. Really. It is a little like reading Anne Rice, only much much better. You can believe it.

Being a person who prefers the kind of charakter who are usually seen as "evil" I had not much choice. There only evil charakters. The main person (or well, maybe not the main person, but the best one), Daemon Sadi, is the son of satan, or Saetan, himself. You know the one that rules Hell.

Despite, or because of, this sinister people and background the book is also very funny. Imagine the devil and his son having to deal with a twelve year old that asks a lot of questions.

It gets somewhat slow in the middle but remains intersting enough because the reader wants to know how it ends. There is no end here, of course, being to first of a trilogy.

I orded the other two. And now I'm going to read this one again. Do the same, you won't regret it.

Summary: An amazing read
Review: A little girl born to be the embodiment of a whole world's dreams. A kingdom, dark, twisted and as wicked as they come. And out of this a delicate character like Jaenelle is created. This novel is riveting, the characters decidedly wicked and yet surprising human, with a wicked sense of dark humour that had me laughing out loud at times. This book, as well as the following sequels are a must read for all who enjoy fantasy. I don't often reread books but with this one I did, often into the wee hours of the dawn, each time a new sequel was released.

Summary: Daughter of the Blood (The Black Jewels Trilogy , No 1)
Review: An absolutely fabulous book! Anne Bishop has amazing talent & creates a vividly dark world in these books. The Black Jewels Trilogy takes you into an amazing world where you'll be swept off your feet and won't be able to put any of the books down. You'll fall in love with the characters and follow them through all three books. Don't pass this well written trilogy up!

Summary: One of the BEST, BEST, BEST trilogies I have ever read!
Review: I have to say that this trilogy was the best I have ever read. It is compelling, compassionate, and a wonderful read. I could never put them down. The characters become so alive and so easy to relate to/understand. These books make you want to laugh, cry, and feel happy, relieved, and sad for characters. The world is so well described and created that all parts are easily imaginable and vivid. These were such great books! I reccommend them to anyone with an open mind and looking for a great fantasy read!

Summary: Daughter of the Blood
Review: I really, really liked this book. I loved the Anne Bishop wrote it. It was full of wonder and mystery.

Summary: Absolutely magnificent...
Review: Daughter of the Blood captured my heart from its opening pages, and has not loosed its grip since. A gorgeous tapestry of darkness, power, love and hate, its sheer presence is overwhelming. Rather like an enormous, grandiose mental feast, Bishop takes the reader's senses to a heightened level of experience, opening one's eyes to the greater themes of courage and loyalty that lay behind the surface occurrences. The characters in the story are incredible, not only for their strength of will and determination, but also because of their undiminished capacity for the glory of love in a world that has forgotten its legacy. Although each individual speaks to one's soul in a different way, the love the reader develops for them all in the end is tantamount to claiming these characters as members of one's own family. "And the Blood shall sing to the Blood." Listen when the Darkness sings to you.

Summary: Made it straight into my top ten!
Review: This is simply an incredible fantasy novel. Anne Bishop creates a detailed world with a system of magic completely original to her book. The beautiful thing about this book is that darkness is considered a good thing rather than an evil one. The characters are engaging, entertaining, and extremely human, which serves to make you feel for them, cheer them on, sob with them and ultimately love them :) some feel that this book emphasizes too much the evil side of life, but such is life, it has both good and bad. If you have any romance in your soul at all, you will enjoy this book.

Summary: Bizarre but brilliant
Review: When I first read this book, I was drawn in by the style and the setting, but put off by the lack of exposition. I felt like something interesting was happening, but I had no idea what it meant.

Having read the two sequels now, I can safely say that it's a darn good read. Aside from an interesting notion of magic, and some odd mythology (Satan is the hero's name!), Bishop also uses some really nasty subject matter to discuss the way things out to be. That is, the incredibly off-putting incidents of cannabalism, pedophilia, and rape in the book serve to make a point about the way people ought to treat each other and families ought to work.

Recommended.

Summary: THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING BOOK EVER!
Review: From the first page, i felt this book grab my heart and steal it away from me forever...I have just finished reading the second book, Heir to the Shadows, for the fifth time, and it still makes me cry every time. Lucivar and Daemon are the most amazing characters..Jaenelle, however, doesn't seem as deep as they do. But she is still awesome! Daemon is so unbelievably cool/wonderfull....you have to admit that you fall for him within the first few pages ( as well as Lucivar in the second book) I still can't decide which one of them i like better! Well if you love fanatasy books, this is a must read! I also recommend the Shannara series by Terry Brooks and Wit'ch Fire and Wit'ch Storm by James Clemes!

Summary: Whatever
Review: I first read this book when I was 12.. (but don't think this book is for kids) and I loved it! I mean it is definitely my favorite book. I don't know, maybe its just me, but all the other people seem to love it. The characters are well defined and the story is great. The dark world is really fascinating and I must buy the next two as soon as possible.
