Summary: My thoughts
Review: This booked rocked, if you are comtemplating buying this book, buy it. I read the entire triology and the the 3rd book is the best, and finally Janelle and Deamon get over their sexual tension. Read it.

Summary: "Dramatic, erotic, compelling, and absolutely beautiful!
Review: The first book enthralled me, the second book captivated me, and now, after reading the third book, I am utterly bewitched with Anne Bishop. Her trilogy is a masterpiece, unlike any other fantasy works I have ever read (and believe me, I've read more than my fair share).

Summary: Beautiful ending to a beautiful story.
Review: Although it was not as good as the first and second series, it still held my attention and best of all the pace of the story never slows you down. I finished all these books within 2 days. These are the first books the author wrote that I read and it is sad to see so wonderful a book end. Keep it up and I will continue to buy more of your books. Thanks for these beautiful books.

Summary: The Queen of the Darkness
Review: It's odd to note that the title character never gets to be the narrator, in every book we hear about Jaenelle, but never get to hear her. I have to agree with the other reviewers, the ending was rushed and I had many questions about the fate of the characters. One thing I found puzzling was the fate of Jaenelle's power she was the strongest and then alot was left in question about the strength of her new Jewel. After Ms. Bishop kindly answered that for me via email I feel by the end of the trilogy that Jaenelle always got the raw deal in these books. However these were three of the best novels I've read in awhile and the third one provided an adequate end for all that it never developed the other characters and it left five years missing from the plot. Daemon's return gave the book more focus.

Summary: Basically good
Review: Volume three has some problems. One problem is the geography. I find it difficult to know where the various realms are. Maybe a map will help, or at least better spatial descriptors will make it better. Also, the logic of the plot is weak. We have a queen who is all powerful, but yet has shortcomings in her ability to detect what the villains are up to. She could easily figure out where Daemon is and have brought him in. She could have spied on her enemies and destroyed her adversaries early on without raising a sweat, but then there would be little plot and no book. Witch is an oddball mixture of the illogic and the omniscient. Maybe, I am just a male with balls to make such comments.

What is good about Anne Bishop's writing is her character development. I keep rereading parts of the book because I like her characters. We all love Jaenelle, Surreal, Daemon, Lucivar, Saetan, and of course Karla. Anne Bishop could even make the characters better, but I guess that she wanted to finish the book. I don't like her villains as much. She could have done a better job developing the characters of the villains.

Nevertheless, I am nitpicking, because I really enjoyed the book. It has been one of the best reads (the whole series) in a long time. An excellent book overall.

Summary: Jaenelle's Rage
Review: Who needs Carrie's rage? Jaenelle can wipe out an entire race. Some people think the ending is rushed, BUT I loved it. The absence of everyone in the end except for Jaenelle and Daemon makes you wonder if the other characters will have their own trilogy. Can you imagine Jaenelle's circle with a trilogy of their lives. Especially Karla. Now, that's a girl with balls. Noone else would have been so ballsy with Daemon or Uncle Saetan. I hope Anne does that. Her writing is spectactular. It's very intriging. Oh, I know maybe Anne could write about the kindred. That would be interesting.

Summary: A true tangled web
Review: This had to be the best series that I have ever read. I finally learned the real reason that Daemon is called the Sadist. Sadi and Jeanellle hook up and there is a little Lucivar run/flying about. There is not much to say that won't destroy the plot so I won't say a thing more. The only disapointment I had was that the stoy ended.

Summary: EXCELLENT READING!
Review: I am not usually a fan of sci-fi but somehow of all the books in the bookstore, I picked the trilogy. The books were very exciting and I finished reading the whole trilogy within a week. But like all the other readers who posted a review, I too have some questions. What happened to Saeten after everything happened? Did he and Sylvia ever get together? I am assuming that Daemon and Jaenelle did get back together? What about Karla? If Mrs. Bishop reads these reviews, I would like for her to know that I am eagerly awaiting her next book. I just hope it is about the characters in the trilogy and what is they're life like after the destruction. However, I do recommend the trilogy to other readers who are anxious to get they're hands on a new author. This one comes highly recommended from me.

Summary: A wonderful set of books
Review: I really enjoyed all three novels in this series and I devoured them in about a week. I'm ready to start over and read them again because they were such an exciting adventure the first time.

However I feel the same way about the last book that others have mentioned....What happened with Janelle and Daemon? Was Janelle able to heal Saeton so that he could go back to Sylvia? What's with the new jewel that Janelle has? What's so special about it? Does she still have a court? What about Karla? I still have so many questions that were left unanswered the list just goes on and on.

Also like others who have written a review on this book I found the other two far more engaging, I would still recomend the trilogy to anyone looking for a good read and lot's of laughs even with the darkness in the books.

I just hope that the author will consider writing one more book to tie up the loose ends.

All in all they are worth the read!

Summary: Hard to say. . .
Review: Now, it's not to say that this is a bad book. . . . by no means at all, just with the standards set by her other two in this series. . . well, I must agree with so many of the other reviewers on this matter.

I had a really hard time getting into this book after such a long wait, and had forgotton quite a bit about the world, and I had trouble following what she did not re-introduce. Some other things happened outside of the series, which confused me, and I thought that I missed the fact that Lucivar was married and other certain such things.

The old characters changed, some not in a good way. She introduced so many new people I didn't even really attempt to keep track of them, though I would have liked to. In the beginning, nothing much really seemed to happen, and she dwelled quite a bit on Daemon's return, just a bit too much in my opinion. And, this may seem odd, but I could have sworn that he had blond hair in the other two books. . . Jaenelle seemed almost two-dimensional this time around, lacking her former. . . vividness. The one scene that I liked was when she consulted Surreal for advice, but other than that, she seemed to be the Cold Queen, and not a person.

The reason I am giving this 4 stars though, is because I did enjoy the ending. It made dredging through the beginning worth it. . . so, this isn't a bad book, just not quite as amazing as the other two.
