Summary: callng all peoples
Review: I was first given this book as well as the rest of the trilogy by my best friend. I was slow at first, reading the book, but once I started understanding the characters i was absolutly speechless. Anne is such an incredible writer and the story line it self is just unexplainable. She paints such a perfect picture. I must say these books are the type to read over and over again. They just never get boring.

Summary: A wonderful trilogy . . .
Review: When trying to rate this book, I didn't know if I should take this book independently of the other 2, or if I should review/rate it based upon the entirety of the Black Jewels trilogy. I decided (after actually stewing about it for a while)that I would just review the whole darn trilogy here.

And therefore, without further ado, I'll give the whole SET 5 stars.

The books are wonderful . . . the first 2 are so captivating - the characters are well developed (Lucivar and Daemon especially - their dynamic is unbelievable), and the way that Anne Bishop describes her supporting cast makes them as lovable as her main cast . . . the witches, the boyos, the kindred . . . they're all amazing. Jaenelle and Saetan are so incredibly deep, and the storyline behind how they became what they are is absolutely captivating. No complaints there -

However, this book, the third book, on its own would only get a 4 star rating in my opinion (and I say only like it's a bad thing, right?) It's good, VERY good, but it's lacking something that the first two have. I felt like the last 50 or so pages were incredibly rushed, and Bishops pacing throughout had been so steadfast and well done that it was a bit disappointing to have that section of story kind of get thrown at you quickly. Is the plot side of things (outside of the pacing) entertaining? Most definitely . . . I found the ending quite appropriate, but like I said, it just went too quickly.

Thanks to this set, I'm looking forward to reading some of her other books. I hope there will be a 4th book in the Black Jewels series some day (there are enough plot threads left open to make you wonder . . .it's definitely possible) but if not, I suppose I can live.

Until then, Happy Reading!

Summary: Great wrap up!
Review: I devoured the final book in the this amazing trilogy. It is jammed full of the same type of writing I enjoyed in the first two books. The only thing I disliked was that this trilogy was so good, I finished all three books in two days.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: fantastic read
Review: The characters are vivid and fascinating in all three books of this trilogy, well worth a read, you won't be able to put it down. Men may shy away from this, there are painful penisrings! Sorry, but there it is. But the depth in the stories only make me hope that Anne Bishop will come out with more!!

Summary: Culmination to the series
Review: If you liked the first two, you have to read this one. It finishes the story. Once again, Daemon is back in the world of the sane. I like him much better that way. There was some opportunity for sibling rivalry, which she could have used, but then that might have detracted from the story.

Excellent character development. I miss them all... We need more stories about Daemon, Lucivar, and Surreal. I want to know more about their lives.

Summary: Wow. 4.5 stars. INTENSE!
Review: This book (like the previous ones) is VERY INTENSE. But very good. I read it, then imediately turned right around and started back on my favorite chapters (about ch4 to the end). I blew off an entire day reading and rereading it (about 2.5 times before I finally put it down). I hate to see the trilogy end. Maybe Ms Bishop would do us the favor of more books. Maybe set a generation in the future? I am going to go read the Invisible Ring now.

My scale: 1 star=don't bother; 2 star=get it from the library and don't waste your cash; 3 stars=a nice read, get it from the library or buy it; 4 stars=read it, buy it. 5 stars=A must. BUY IT, READ IT (several times!)

Summary: wonderfully chilling
Review: This book is amazing. A word to the wise - don't read it without reading the first two in the trilogy. You will feel very rushed and breathless after this book if you have not had the opporunity to previously acclimate yourself to this fascinating world of Jewels and Queens who are served by strong males, and Warlord Princes who "ride the killing edge." It is not unbelievably dark, but pleasantly so...we finally see some things we have anticipated throughout the first 2 books (those who have read them will know what I mean...*wink, wink*), although some questions we have had remain unanswered. Such as, How did Saetan become the High Lord of Hayll? It is hinted that his role is unusual, but the reasons are never divulged. This doesn't subtract from the book at all, though - instead it leaves a rich feeling of mystery, the satisfaction that the magnificent world is not naked to our reading eyes, but lives and breathes apart from us. All in all this is a fascinating read as a part of 3. The world leaves no one feeling the scars of sexism ( after Jaenelle is through, at least ). I believe Bishop effectively taps into the true feeligns of the sexes and places them in a world which fosters them in a healthy manner. I could not recommend a better story. My warning still stands, though - this book cannot be appreciated without the previous two. Don't cheat yourself out of one of the most satisfying reads you may ever experience.

Summary: better then the rest
Review: Anne Bishop brought this books to life. All the chars. are believable and true to the story. It brings the imagination to life and gives magic a new light. We can finally find out how it all ends, and watch the good win again. (Not without the help of the Darkness). i take my hat off for this author, for it was a perfect job, and i can't wait for anything else her mind comes up with.^.~

Summary: Great Stuff!!
Review: The three novels by Anne Bishop are fantastic! I loved the characters and liked that the story lines were dark but hopefull at the same time. I cant wait to see more novels from Bishop, and I hope she comes out with more stories as good as these three are. Must reads for anyone who doesnt like their books all sweetness and light.

Summary: Beautiful
Review: _Queen of the Darkness_ is a wonderful conclusion to the best dark fantasy trilogy I've ever read. Jaenelle has come into her full power, and her consort Daemon has returned from the Twisted Kingdom. They and Jaenelle's family and friends must fight against Dorothea SaDiablo's evil, possibly at grave cost to them and all of the Blood. Very highly recommended.
